Check out the very bottom of the new "visitor" page.
There is what looks like a code key.
I don't remember ever seeing symbols like that before on anything else we've looked at here, so maybe there is something more to come.

Cool! You know, I'm very interested to know who's like, behind this game for reals. As soon as someone gets out to that room and the game is officially through, I would be very interested to know how this game came to be. Did Gina spring for it?

Also, I grabbed the image with the symbols off the bottom of the visitors page, and it's called onesongmissing.jpg. I looked at the source, and shows this:alt="one song is missing, which I understand to be a direct affirmation that one song is, in fact, missing, whatever that may mean, and we are to find it using the code. More on this as I stop being lazy and do a little research.

edit: I checked her myspace, and you can't buy "Please Release Me" online. Maybe that's the missing song? Also, there's the Henry Poole Is Here song. Also missing from the album. Is there some other obvious-ass one I'm missing?

I don't think it's a code key since there's a lot of repeated or omitted letters (see below), I think it's a code and I'm still brainstorming, the arrows pointing in opposite directions might mean something...

A: 2, B:1, C:1, D:0, E:1, F:1, G:1, H:1, I:2, J:0, K:1, L:1, M:2, N:1, O:1, P:2, Q:1, R:1, S:2, T:1, U:0, V:1, W:0, X:1, Y:1, Z:2

I made a couple notes based on the video too, I'll use spoilers for those who want to watch it themselves:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'd guess the original geochache is a good place to start, and on the way to it she passes a sign that reads 138 (I'm not American, I've no idea if this a route marker or mile marker or what), a place called Silverwood Bait-Beer & Country Store, and starts out from Queens Motel, room 127, where she's hidden what looks like another CD behind the painting on the wall. I guess the $40 mentioned in the note is to get the key to the room.

Wow. That's another long drive. Well, I'm certainly up for it again. Anyone else care to join? I promise I'll be a good girl and follow the rules this time. Embarassed

[EDIT] Also, what site is the video on? I didn't see it on Rose's or Gina's.
[EDIT2] Nevermind...found it.

Hmmm, there seems to be a lot less interest in the 2nd geocache this time round.

Or... has someone got it yet?

Well...after watching the video again it looks like she just puts a CD behind the frame. I don't know about you guys, but four hours is a lot of driving for a free CD. That's pretty much a tank of gas. If it turns out to be more than that, I might regret not going, but I won't know until someone finds it.

I actually wouldn't mind the drive that much. I guess I also feel like I should give other people a chance to find it. Especially since there are apparently people playing who are actually fans of her music and not just gamers. So I'll wait a couple of days and if no one wants to go for it, then I'll go.

Hey! Let's crack this code! Let's start with the obvious stuff! There's one letter for each symbol! The symbols seem to come in sets of four! The first five sets all seem to have a white one, black one, almost full one, and dot one! The two sets seem to be different from the rest yet similar to each other! I don't know why, but I feel they have a directional quality to them! There is a long arrow pointing to the right, then the 28 letter cipher text, then an arrow to the left! I feel like perhaps each arrow corresponds to what's above it, leaving the symbols with one, and the letters with another! ROT doesn't work! The image is called onesongmissing.jpg! In the source for the page, it also says "one song is missing"! Anything else?

For those of you mystified by what image I mean, it's at the very bottom of the page, www.love-resurrected.com/visitors.

Next phase

Having completed my latest job deadline at 5:36 a.m. Pacific this morning, and gotten enough sleep to feel partially human again, and having about 3 hours before the people I'm working for in Nairobi wake up,I've checked out the updated pages again. Three things strike me:

1) As I predicted in an earlier post, the final lastgig video would be Gina's title track, "Love Resurrected." What I didn't expect to see was (spoilers ahead)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
that this video ALSO ends with the word "Box" added at the end as in the other videos. This leads me to conclude that the "check behind the lining of the box" clue we've assembled from the videos HASN't been fulfilled yet; if what we were to do was to check behind the lining of the box at the geocache, why is the clue still here?

2. The letters at the end of the /visitors page are NOT a substitution cipher. I just looked the frequency analysis sowasred2012 did, and it's very clear. (Spoilers ahead)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
None of the 28 symbols repeat, none of the 28 letters appears more than twice, and most letters appear only once. In a simple substitution cipher of a length of 28 alphabetical characters, the odds of a message of that length in which no letter appeared more than twice is astonishingly small. It just doesn't happen that flat. Nor does a cipher explain the non-repeating symbols. This is not a substitution cipher; if it's a cipher in itself at all, you usually only see this flat a frequency with something in the "Vigenere" cipher family, which require a keyword.

3. The references to Stoddard in the message at /lastgig and the message at /visitors points to Queens motel in Victorville. That seems like a pretty direct clue. I can't go myself: in real life I'm a writer dealing with deadlines from a boss who's 10 time zones away right now, and from last week through the next week I'm both working on deadlines and on-call at insane hours. But someone needs to check this out. (Spoiler ahead)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Getting access to that room would have been called "social engineering" in my hacking days. Don't be afraid of the direct approach.

Is anyone planning on hitting up that motel room? I'd go, but I'm too poor after my last "outing". I wanna know what's in there!

Also, as far as the cipher is concerned, I tend to agree with RF. Definitely not substitution, unless what's encoded is like, gibberish for something we need when we get to the hotel room. Looking at it again, I'm finding the arrows seem most important.

Basically, the point I'm getting at here is, perhaps the code at the bottom of the visitor's page is like the same thing as the "look in the lining" clues from last time around.

Has anyone made ANY progress? I've been sitting here for two hours straight, and I've got nothin'...

yeah, i think RF and FacianeA are right, this most likely isn't code unto itself but i would suggest that whoever takes the road trip, takes a copy of the code with them, this way if there's something written on/in/around the cd about another clue out there, you don't have to make two trips. it might not pertain it, but definitely better safe than sorry. also, i think we need to check the first geocache again, i think we may find some new goodies Very Happy

I'm guessing the time to enter your phone number is gone. I just started looking through this, but I couldn't find a place where to put in the number. But since I'm new to this ARG thing anyway, I don't feel too bad.

So right now, we're trying to figure out the code at the bottom of the visitor's page, right?
