I had a (busted) idea

So, just for S's n G's I looked up area codes in South Africa.
Wouldn't you know it, there is a 234, a 2351, and a 236

Hey there, new to the forum, got interested in D9 and wanted to check it out.

Don't know if this will be helpfull, but I found this while researching Johannesburg on Wikipedia:

Quote:
Johannesburg is the source of a large-scale gold and diamond trade, due to its location on the mineral-rich Witwatersrand range of hills... Only 0.7% (of the employed population) work in mining... Mining was the foundation of the Witwatersrand's economy, but its importance is gradually declining due to dwindling reserves and service and manufacturing industries have become more significant to the city's economy. While gold mining no longer takes place within the city limits, most mining companies still have their headquarters in Johannesburg.

Interesting that there would be mining jobs if mining is no longer a major industry. Or maybe I'm grasping at straws.

Code

Sorry for DP, but I really think we're missing something by forgetting about this Arrow

I gotta think that this must have some king of significance, no? I tried running it through a ROT47 decoder and got this:
Quote:
2<5>U/cbca=<;5F=<5;DYU/dD5Cbaab_YUTTTSRochgab
Does that look like anything to anybody?

It bugs me that so much of the punctuation characters are simply the same string of numerical characters but with a keyboard shift:
Code:
akdj3499m&^4342lkjdulkdjs*&^5sdr32230*&%%%$#@49823
....3499.764342..........8765...322308755543249823

Most of the letters come from the home row of the keyboard, and clusters like "lkj" show up, which is easy to type when just drumming your fingers on the keyboard. The numbers march down 8765,5432 too much for it to be a code -- personally I gave up on this as being a real puzzle, but I'd love to be proven wrong if someone else solves it.

well here's the string separated to standard keys:

Code:
orig: akdj3499m&^4342lkjdulkdjs*&^5sdr32230*&%%%$#@49823
ltrs: akdj    m      lkjdulkdjs    sdr
nums:     3499   4342             5   32230        49823
shft:          76              876         87555432

Whatever that is, this thing needs to pick up and get going already.

Maybe, but then why include it at all? Just to mess with us?

That's for dang sure. Does it usually take this long to get going? I mean, is there any chance that there is no game in our future, just these 4 sites untill August?

Man, it's nice to be back, even though there's not that much around that's new. My guess is, there's something that we're missing somewhere else on the sites, OR this is just a lull period. I mean, I Believe in Harvey Dent sat around for a while until we got the "too" site added out of the blue. So either one's the case. I'm just hoping this does keep going!

I'm posting just to break the post drought.

I've been very patient, but even I am beginning to wonder if anything is going to happen with this. I guess we still have 305 days for something to happen.... let's hope it happens a little sooner than that.

Between this taking forever to decide if it wants to do anything, and IAB being a total flop, I'm just... I'm just so sad... Crying or Very sad

well the 32230*&%%%$#@49823 of akdj3499m&^4342lkjdulkdjs*&^5sdr32230*&%%%$#@49823
leads to 32230 49823 which made me think of 32.230 49.823 which mapped to Iran.

Bleh... the pain. Managed to get through 23 pages of information in one evening.

I'm brand new to the forums and ARG's.

Just a thought to sort of push out there, despite it probably being wrong.
The 1337 $p3aK that someone mentioned much earlier as possibly saying "ransom". Could it be connected with the random incident that was posted earlier about the 12 year old girl being kidnapped? It's probably not related...But just getting the wheels turning.

By The Way, does anyone have a list of politically correct terms? Is "Non Human" rude? What is an Outlander?

-Krissy

EDIT: Browsing through the wiki and found this: "The Dude;

Human, with nephews going hungry and living in the slums of Joburg caused by the crash. Extreme hate of aliens, doesn't want them to have rights. Wonders what the aliens were running away from when they came to Earth. Sees the list of products and companies for the boycott and instead plans to patronize them more."

What were they running from? Perhaps some foreshadowing? Maybe humans and Non-humans will have to unite against some common foe?

2nd EDIT: I wrote an E-mail to Pam about how Non-Humans should have equal rights, and sent an E-mail to the MNUPrivacy about how I wish to apply for a job. We'll see if they bounce.

3rd EDIT: Also, is there any significance to "20 Years in the making" is there a historical event that happened 20 years ago that could help us with anything?

Has anyone contacted Mitchell Hoffman yet? He's one of a pair of attorneys, concerning personal injury. He responded to George's posts.
