Hmm on the static wiki, I noticed that the only listed Fargo point was several miles away from the Fargo point plotted at Unfiction.

Does anyone know why the points at the wiki are strange? Was this before they were changed?

The Fargo point did change with the update on the 17th.

Alright, it's 6:35pm here in Chicagoland, and I'm outta here as far as work goes (late night as it is)... But here's the Phil for the weekend. Treat him well! I'll update on Monday morning, and take us on up to Tuesday, the 24th!!! PLEASE SIGN UP! We still need 92-93 (I might have miscounted), and that's a lot! Or if you don't sign up, at least if you can go, please go, and then report those sites. Recruit family in college, or if you are away at college, recruit family at home. They love you, and won't think you're (too) crazy for going to an intersection at a precise time... Very Happy Try to get friends who are near those spots to help you cover locations that are close, but too far for a four minute layover! You get what I'm saying... we've got a lot of ground to cover and we may not get it all done, but I still really do think we can do it! Good luck Beekeepers, and I'll see you on Monday, the 23rd! It's not necessary, but whoever can update Phil, please go ahead and do so at least once on Saturday and once on Sunday! Thanks!

Oh! And BTW, any of you who still want to cover locations anonymously, feel free to still PM me, and I'll get you hooked up on Monday! Thanks!

My, my, Dorkmaster's going to be sad when he gets back from his trip to discover that the Friday update changed all of the coordinates again, rendering all of his hard work instantly obsolete. Mr. Green

I only came on board with Tycho's Penny-Arcade post (Monday) so I think the point I currently am going to is right and the static Wiki point is the old one.

I've been following the whole bee thing on and off lately, but then I just noticed the GPS coordinates today. Looks like I need to really get into reading all the stuff on these sites to get a better point of reference.

If so, I can try to be at the El Paso coordinates. They look to be right in the center of my school, UT El Paso. If it is where I think it is, there are a few payphones in the area. I'm going over there tomorrow anyway, so I'll take my gps to be specific. Only problem with the 24th is that school will have started, and I may or not be able to get out by 10am MST.

just like geocaching, just more engimatic, heh

And, darn it, as quick as that, I can't be there....

Something's come up at work, and I'll be out of town on Tuesday... and of course not in a town with a coordinate Sad I won't feel too bad since at least two other people are covering the point. But I have to watch from afar...

Dorkmaster, please take me off the list (so people don't expect me.)

/me is sad.

I'm an idiot and forgot I'll still be here today (I was at work so long yesterday that I thought it was Friday) Embarassed Anyway, I'll update Phil today, and THEN it's all in your hands. Shad0, thanks for the optimism. Crying or Very sad (j/k) Anyway, thanks to FutureTomorrow for the El Paso spot, and LazarusLong42, I will sadly take you off the list. We'll keep you updated, though!

OK!!! Anyone, after reading Dana's blog today NOT want to be at a point, when it's obvious SOMETHING will be happening there? Didn't think so... So who's going to fill in Phil's gaps? We still need about 90 people to sign up for locations. Please look at the latest version of Phil and help out Dana!

spreadsheet discrepancy?

dorkmaster -- i'm seeing a discrepancy between the xls spreadsheet and the coordinates at ILB. specifically: the third barnstable, MA point on your spreadsheet (row 22, time 7:27 PDT) does not exist at the corresponding time on the ILB table.

barnstable (or hyannis if we want to get picky) is already covered by a few people, but i'm thinking of going as well...so understandably i'm just looking at the massachusetts points, i don't know if there are other discrepancies. just wanted to let you know!

somerville, looking into that now. Can anyone else confirm any other changed points today? Thanks!

Wow, ok, that point has now changed to central/southern Illinois. The location is between Springfield and Decatur Illinois near the Logan/Sangamon/Macon County lines... (I went to school in Decatur... odd) Anyway...

Dorkmaster, the map for the Austin TX location in Phil is wrong. Here's a link to and updated map. Could you change it? Please?

Also, here's an updated link to to the acme.

Thanks so much for all your hard work!

(PS. I'm still not giving up on the number idea either but I won't post about it until I have something)

Revealer, have the coordinates changed? Check please, since I've got one confirmed change today since the last update. One point that was in Massachussetts is now in Illinois. (see post above yours)

dorkmaster -- i just printed out the entire ilb table and your spreadsheet, and went down the list comparing the rough coordinates (um, couldn't go into 6 decimal points while already stealing work time to do this) for each, and everything else is correct EXCEPT one thing: in your row for 9:23 PDT you list the first coord as 37.033333 and according to ILB it should be 47.617222. everything else is perfect!

ETA: the original barnstable/illinois change is not new to today's site updates. i noticed the discrepancy in an earlier version of your spreadsheet but did not have the time at that point to go over the ilb coords with a fine-tooth comb. just to be clear. the change would have been made with the rest of the updates to 6-decimal lat/longs.

)Thanks dude! I'll totally update then... Thanks for your assistance. I unfortunately am at work as well, so if anyone can "fine-tooth" the coordinates and let me know if there's any discrepancies... I'll be posting the updated list shortly (five, maybe ten minutes?) Anyway, let me know if there's other discrepancies... (And Shad0 thought we'd have a whole new list... Wink)
