Savannah Merks is glad last week is behind her. And she is getting really, really excited about the debut of the Chastity virtue this week!

"Faithless fish" makes me think of the Darwin parody symbol, but that leads me nowhere.

So far, EB's idea of a fifth item leading to 2 numbers (though without a hyphen) in a category identified by Donimo seems closest to me. As per Hathor, it certainly makes sense to continue to think about it since it is not perfect (and the lack of a hyphen bothers me), but it would not surprise me if EB's post turned out to be correct. I am less sanguine about birthdays or birth years that seem less clued and more arbitrary. But we shall see. (If the numbers are indeed an index into the Weekly Inspiration, some healthy backsolving may be available.)

hey, cool little update.. I'm volunteering in merchandise at acquire the fire this weekend in Hamilton (a youth convention), and I'm working with Savannah to become an official Virtu-Volunteer there Smile
They're sending me a batch of cards, she asked my shirt size, and they're working on getting official permission from the event coordinators (otherwise it'll be me independently).

hee!

Here is the latest email that I was sent to Erin Cole's email address after I asked for Tabitha to send an email:

Quote:
Dear Erin,

Mr. Gerard says that Tabitha is doing well. She is writing you a letter today, and will mail it out soon. Mr. Gerard informs me that Tabitha has not yet earned back her e-mail priviledges after an incident with ilicit computer use last week.

God Bless,
Anna Gimble

Locations

There are 7 different CoV locations shown under 'Our Ministries' on their website.

Based on these descriptions, it appears to me that the first week's video on Temperance was filmed in the Intellectual Properties site at Providence, RI - which is also Xander's hometown per his MySpace entry… so likely he was being held at the IP site

The second week's Patience video we know was shot at Camp Francis in Spokane, WA; Tabitha is there. and she lives in Washington.

So… it's my theory that each week one of the Seven AND the video will be connected to another one of their ministry sites… perhaps continuing in the order listed?!

Rich, that seems to make sense. Especially since the next virtue is Chastity & the next location on the ministries list is the research center, the home of Passionix.

I also wonder if we are supposed to take down each of the seven staff members, like Alejandra Gonzales for this current task related to patience since she is associated with the camp....

WARNING: RAMBLING, PROBABLY POINTLESS SPECULATION CONTAINED WITHIN THIS POST.

It looks like there are mostly logical pairings between everything. Presuming the formatting doesn't get gnarled on computers other than my own, here's my predictions on what we've got to look forward to:

Code:
Date  Virtue     Sin      Color      Principle           CoV Ministry            City               CoV Bigwig         Seven Member
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10/8  Temperance Gluttony Violet (4) Moderation      (6) Intellectual Properties Providence, RI     Wilfred Dawes      Xander Greene
10/15 Patience   Wrath    Indigo (2) Child           (2) Camp Francis            Spokane, WA        Alejandra Gonzales Tabitha Cole
10/22 Chastity   Lust     Blue   (5) Sex             (5) Research Center         Indianapolis, IN   Justin Janes       ???
10/29 Kindness   Envy     Green  (7) Community       (3) Pledge Center           Columbus, OH       Eli Richter        ???
11/5  Humility   Pride    Yellow (6) Beginner's Mind (7) Outreach Center         Mesa, AZ           Leon Lutz          ???
11/12 Diligence  Sloth    Orange (3) Marriage        (1) Merchandise Center      Ft. Lauderdale, FL Savannah Merks     ???
11/19 Charity    Greed    Red    (1) Forgiveness     (4) National Headquarters   Kansas City, MO    Bryson Grace       ???

The ministries line up nicely with the virtues/sins as given in order; Passionix supposedly eliminates Lust, donations certainly qualify as Kindness, wearing CoV merch is Prideful, reaching out to other cultures is Diligent, and... well, it only makes sense that we take out the HQ last.

The seven About Us people (not counting God, ahem) are mostly easy to match, although they're not listed in order. Everyone but Grace and Merks logically belongs at a specific one of the ministries, leaving the Merchandise Center and the HQ to pair with the big two. I'd be really surprised if anyone other than Bryson Grace was the last one to fall, so I've put him at HQ. As for Merks and the Merchandise Center... *shrug* She does have a book coming out, I guess, and it's on the Merchandise page. It seems sort of wrong that she's not second-to-last, but Lutz just lines up too perfectly with the Outreach Center.

Thoughts? Alternate theories?

[ETA: A bunch of stuff. I've switched the ministries and bigwigs for Humility and Diligence as per thebruce's idea, and thrown in release dates, colors, and principles of the CoVenant. Numbers in parentheses by the colors are the order they appear in the scrambled rainbow.]

I like the orderings, and it makes perfect sense.

I do think though that Savannah and Leon could switch... diligence and merchandise could easily go together - Savannah's very outgoing and basically in promotions, PR, very opposite of sloth, and requires a lot of dilligence... and outreach takes a lot of humility. Very possible that Leon and Savannah could represent Humility and Dilligence respectfully, IMO

Nice table, Projectyl!

I made a similar spreadsheet, and I agree that Passionix and Justin are definitely next. It'll be to see the additions made to the Passionix page.

If we're starting to think meta, here... we can also add some columns of Rainbow Colors and Seven Principles to the sheet. There's almost a direct mapping of each virtue to a principle. Marriage is tricky, but you could argue Diligence. The others pretty much fall into place nicely.

Then, we should probably look at sorting by rainbow color that's on the website: Red, Indigo, Orange, Violet, Blue, Yellow, Green. I'm sure we'll have to do that at some point.

I'm hoping that in the endgame, we'll have use all or most of these pairings and connections to come up with a final answer of sorts.

@thebruce: Y'know, I was so fixated on the idea that the ministries were given in order that I didn't even think of moving the Outreach Center along with Leon Lutz. I like that virtue-ministry pairing even better; the Merchandise Center is described as "a beehive of activity", and what's an Outreach Center but a way to tell everyone how great you are?

@ToddE: All excellent ideas for additional columns; all added.

Why, no, I'm not trying to kill time waiting for the Weekly Inspiration. Why do you ask? Wink

Weekly Inspiration:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Using OREGON (54-40), NEW YEARS EVE (12-31), CONV. STORE (7-11), CUBES (8-27), SUPERBOWL XXXVII (48-21), and SPIELBERG (19-41) and indexing into the message you get:

base fire
loss board
apocalypse playing
batted in
nail control
first struggle

Each pair suggests a third word:

base CAMP fire
loss LEADER board
apocalypse NOW playing
RUNS batted in
nail GUN control
first CLASS struggle

So you get "Camp leader now runs gun class" suggesting that Alejandra Gonzales is teaching some quite interesting stuff!

Great job, Projectyl for figuring this out way before the end of the week.

Whoo, wasn't expecting an extra puzzle on top of spotting the numbers!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Pull the appropriate pairs of words from the Weekly Inspiration, and find a word that links the two to form a chain of compound words and/or two-word phrases. In one case (CUBES), it turns out there are three numbers, but from the words you pull out it's clear how to treat them.

54-40: base CAMP fire
12-31: loss LEADER board
7-11: apocalypse NOW playing
1-8-27: dry RUNS batted in
48-21: nail GUN control
19-41: first CLASS struggle

[Added on preview: ToddE rocks. *high-five*]
