I like Paul P's question. The first part would answer whether or not she is forerunner tech, and the second part will tell us what we can do next to help.

I just want to make a point that could inform people's voting --

The SP can't answer questions she doesn't know the answer to!!! So if you ask a question, be sure not only that you want that question answered but also that you think that the Princess knows the answer....

kalamazoo that's my point exactly. Is she going to call herself a Forerunner, even if she is one? I just don't think so. And while I would have no problem with a new story, we still don't have proof that she wrote those fragments that made the Widow's tale in the first place!(although there's strong spec to back it up)... I'm not trying to be selfish or whatever, but I wrote my email to be subversively revealing. Its entire purpose (other than the color question, just a warm-up) was to have the SP reveal items of importance without thinking she was revealing them. (which I think we need to do, since the SP seems to be too playful (read: like a child) to want to just sit and talk information...

I vote heartily for mine, although if I had a second choice, I'd pick Bellebet's just cuz it's enigmatic and "free" enough to let the SP choose what she's gonna reveal.

EDIT - just in case people wonder how my questions could reveal anything, I'll explain why I wrote them:

Color: Warm-up. completely innocent.
Food: If it always has been an AI, or is an AI at all, one would expect it not to have a preference, or to not have a suitable answer (or to mimic Dana)
Five Years: To let us know how close, if an AI, it is to "total knowledge" or whatever that whole destructive knowledge thing is...
Happy: To find out it's aims. It's goals.
Save Mother/Self: To determine its true nature. To determine relationships to other characters (princess/queen). And if it answers the why part, we get even a better determinant of its aims, goals and values.

ALSO, FYI, there were 5 more questions in the same email (10 in total) that I had asked, that she didn't add here...Nuttin big, but just to let you know. But they also were oriented like these five, to determine info.

Hmmm. Very well thought out, DM. I pretty much left mine open-ended, like you said. I just treated her in that letter like a person. A ver lonely person who needed a friend. So I asked what she needs to make the place more comfortable, since I didn't know a way to get her our or home. This is the same letter in which I sent the "You're a Mean one, Mr. Grinch" lyrics a few weeks back.

This kinda confirms my theory the PMs were really enjoying my choice of what I sent her. Wink

My question being, will she answer the one question for everyone, or for just the original person who asked it?

I'm guessing I'm going for Dorkmasters, even though I'm glad I was mentioned. His does seem to open up a lot more doors, and it's got the playful tone that SP loves. (It was his idea she responded to, to begin with!)

As an aside, since we all have sent her a lot of emails (and DM pointed this out, too) did she choose only the questions that had a relevance to the game? As in "these are hot, the rest are cold, but you can only choose the key to one." What do you think guys?

I'm going out for a while, I'll be back in a few hours and see what's changed, then I'll actually vote for SP.

Farewell.

In my original email, I wrote:
(1) color?

(2) fave food

(3) What's a good memory for you?

(4) What's a bad memory for you?

(5) How old are you?

(6) 5 years question

(7) feel happy question

(Cool This is the save mother/self

(9) When Ilovebees.com started to change, what was your feeling about it?

(10) Do you think what will happen on the 24th of August will have
anything specific to do with the locations marked by the coordinates
on ilovebees.com?

It's interesting which questions she chose to ignore. (Obviously I knew 9 & 10 were a little close to the curtain but I figured, what the heck?) ALSO, worthy of note, I wrote this email to BOTH dana and SP at the same time. These questions would be recognized by Dana too...

Edit- also, sorry all that I'm "campaigning" for my questions here... I just really really believe that the reason that she (1) picked my name as to who originated "the game", and (2) only chose certain questions to ask was because there was a lot of good potential here. I could very well be wrong... I just think we would learn the most about SP through my questions, and also remain very much "in-game" with our asking of them. That is all... thanks though to everyone for listening to me ramble about it, whether you agree or not. See y'all at the coordinates!

I just sent my email in to vote for Dorkmasters; it looks like it'll reveal the most information, and while I liked a lot of the other questions (including my own), most of them seem so close to asking about the *game* rather than the Princess that I doubt we'll get a straight answer (and if we did I'd almost feel like it was cheating)

BTW one last thing. I want all to know that I will reserve my "vote" email until I see the results of this poll come monday. I'll vote early on monday, but I'll go with the majority here. I of course would like to see my email "win" but I believe the community aspect of the ARG is what this is all about.

Just so y'all know I didn't rush off and email a vote for mine yet!

(Although I still think that while Paul's is a great question, I don't think it's in-game enough to be answered directly. I think for any question, we're going to get an enigmatic answer, but with my questions, we're ready for enigmatic answers because the questions were designed to give answers that would help lead us towards one conclusion or another... anyway...)

*edited cuz I wrote Ryan instead of Paul. WHERE DID I GET THAT? Rolling Eyes *

When is the deadline to answer the vote? What if waiting to vote to see your results already passes the deadline?

Hey, just wanted to add my two cents, for whatever it's worth.

-I noticed everyone seems to be voting for the Paul P. question.. My only problem with that question is that it would only confirm something that we can already pretty much infer from the story anyway. Maybe the answer to that question will confirm whether or not she's a Forerunner AI, but if she just confirms that, I don't see what it changes. As for trying to get her back, the SP doesn't seem to be trying to get anywhere. She doesn't ask for help with anything or seem to require it.

-While I'm not crazy about the "bee" parts of the jmcdonald question, I really like the "Do you think there's a way to rescue the Queen from what she's become?" question. Obviously Melissa was a 'good' human AI at one time. If she's been corrupted by the flea, I think this question gets us the most on-track with helping cure her and retrieve Melissa's information, which seems to be our goal... Then again, jus my opinion =)

i like dorkmasters approach, we need to ask it questions which lets say for sake of argument a psychiatrist (shrink for those of you playing at home, in US) would ask. a question, which depending on the answer tells you more about the person answering (and their answer) than they would like to let on. im not saying lets trick her or anything, but a question which would be hard to answer for an AI would be a good start. (ok im pretending the PM's will play in-game, and their answers will have obvious, if shes not human, errors) his other questions are even better- moral choices, future aspirations etc.

dorkmasters question fall more in line with a game, because its asking her, her likes etc, and therefore they qualify better for her specifications, as a fun game. (shes still a child right?)

paul, whilst your questions are more forwarding the storyline wise, we need to ask ourselves, would the SP be able to answer them (clearly yes, because she posted you in the top choices, but still Razz )
atm i think we need more info on the motives and possible choices of the characters, like a socio-analysis thingy.. but thats only my opinion

she offers a next time, so i think we keep playing the game until we ask the right question Cool

Edit: all the other questions are really good too tho, wonder what the winner wins? Laughing

Edit , Edit: ok, heres a site to explain what i mean a bit more:

get it, got it, good Wink

Okay, I love DMs e-mail, and I even voted for it myself, but I have a feeling that those questions will open up a whole can of worms that perhaps may be beneficial or a detriment to the forums. On the one hand we can get answers to those questions that will perhaps give us more insight into the SP's background, on the other hand people have hard time accepting other people's opinions on the coords puzzle, and something as simple as just random coordinates pointing to locations on whether or not to agree on the fact that being there or figuring something else more intricate out is the proper method to solving that problem. SP's answers to these questions could raise more questions and arguments that could be POV arguments out the wazoo.

But then again I voted for it because it gives us more to do between updates. Laughing

Woooo! There's my question! Razz

A vote for me is a vote to finally figure out who the Flea is.

Actually, a psychiatrist/psychologist/psychotherapist will usually ask direct but open ended questions of a subject. General or "free association" questions are usually reserved for when we're first trying to get someone to feel more at ease with the situation or when we don't already know the area of trouble. By the way, all answers reveal more about the person than they want to let on. Wink

In a list being proposed by a human (I'm assuming that the PMs behind the Princess are human) in order to get feedback like the Princess is doing; it's the first and last items that are most significant. The first is the one that the presenter prefers and the last is the one they feel is most important. This might not mean much in terms of a game, but by me looking at the questions and the voting so far I would suggest that it does.

Just some things to think about.
