Hey, just an update on the phone booth where you find Eddie's number: it is indeed gone, holy crap. In its place I ran into this:

Actually, when I was checking up on this, I ran into a couple folks working on the map, and they saw the sign, and me taking a photo of the sign... and I watched them for a moment, and one of them took out the map... I said hello and helped them with the number, since the corner of that flier is torn off and Eddie's number is hard to read. I should've fixed it! Sad

Anyway, if you're P. and/or J. whom I met on that day, and you find this thread... heya! Smile

Back across the street from St. Dominic's, where many of us found the EPWA markings at the end of Wilmot, there was another flier from Organelle found. CaptKing has photos of it here:

When I went, I decided to shoot a "hey, I found your flier, what's up?" email from my phone, to whiteRabbit, presumably reachable at starflowersSPLATorganelle.org. Here's the response I got back within a few minutes:

(And I checked, "Lux Vobiscum" is Latin for "May the light be with you" if you can believe the internet. Surprised )

Now, CaptKing has told me that the PMs said that Organelle wasn't a part of what they were running, but the above mentions an heir and a throne, which reminds me of what the map says at the end about a revival involving "a lost queen's sly return to form" : http://flickr.com/photos/jaschu/2918120660/

And if the usurper silences opposition...? We know Erik and others (like Kendal Laz/Delsqui of the Savants, as per nonchalance.com) have been bombarded with microwave harassment while trying to talk about divine nonchalance.

This makes me think that either Organelle really is involved, or they are having some fun with us. Smile Or, maybe there's a meta-narrative here.

So.... chew on that one for a while.

hey guys. i recorded the video and am just trying to get it small enough to be able to send, post, etc. the chanting in the video is the same latin that is on the box.

i was wondering about nonchalance.com. currently st. thaddeus's "nonchalance ratio" is at 110%. Eva Lucien is at 100%, etc. do we think this means anything? also, was shel silverstein always on there? i don't remember seeing him on there last time i looked. anyway, just wondering if anyone has thought about this.

anyway, looking forward to discuss more tomorrow night.

So yeah! Like briareosH did, I found the EPWA street markings up Kearny!

You can find that particular building with some patient searching on the Google Maps, you know, with the street view and whatnot. Turns out it's on the 1100 block of Kearny.

I had originally gone up there on the night of September 30th with my friend Jackson, and we had left notes about it on Twitter, but apparently we were too early because I got this email the next night:

Now that evening, we had found the right building, but there were no markings and nothing else out there except a stern looking dude smoking a cigarette. Razz We just acted like we knew what we were doing, which I find to be a great way to get away with a lot of things in this town.

Anyway, a couple weeks later, briareosH posted his photos, and Organelle/Tetranym was saying something about what he found some evening on IRC, so up I went! And I found le markings!

So things to note here: the symbols found here had an x in the round part, not a dot or another circle or just empty as we've seen before. I wasn't sure if that was significant or not at the time.

Anyway, everything happens on Kearny, so I went down to 605 Kearny, which is a mini-mart kind of store. And it's a mess. Totally unorganized. But there's this on the window:

In case it comes up, the book shown in the window by the symbol is entitled "In Memory of the Venerable Master Hsuan Hua" and is available in its entirety on Google Book Search: http://books.google.com/books?id=X_lKHk-FQDYC&printsec=frontcover

I did a couple things here. First I tried looking to see if there was one of Dr. Jane Hewitt's postcards for sale. No dice. And I went in there twice on two separate days, just in case I had missed anything. And on the second visit I even asked the shopkeeper if he had any postcards for sale (his answer: no). Scratch that.

Everything in the window of the store was from, or talked about, a Buddhist monastery up the street on Grant and Sacramento, called the Gold Mountain Sage Sanctuary. There was a sign (which for some dumb reason I didn't get a picture of) on the other side of the front door which said something like "don't go home empty-handed! Visit Patriarch's... something... Books" at the monastery.

I finally was able to drop in at the monastery. You have to ring the doorbell to get in, and in the lobby they have a little complimentary bookstore. But nothing with the symbol, no postcards from Hewitt, no anything related to this story. But the lady there was super nice, and invited me to check the schedule and come to any one of their many meditation sessions. I took a book called "Welcome to the Monastery: A Guide for New Visitors" and dropped a fiver in their donation box.

Later it occurred to me that maybe the EPWA markings were saying that there was something to find to either side of 605 Kearny, seeing as there's the 605 and then arrows pointing away from it towards our familiar symbols. But looking around the block, all I found was more stickers with warnings of microwave harassment.

So I've hit a wall here. Either this is a dead-end, or I'm totally missing something. Or, as CaptKing suggested to me on the phone, the x in each symbol is relevant, and just like the map from the Jejune Institute was a sort of learn-by-doing lesson on how to keep our eyes open for markings and clues, maybe this is an object lesson about false clues, where anything with an x in it can be safely assumed to be a false lead. False Nonchalance, as it were. Heh.

I dunno. I'm out of ideas, I've spent too many cycles on this one and honestly, I can't go back to the mini-mart lest the owner think I'm up to no good or something. I'm not really that subtle. Confused Also I emailed the EPWA about this lead back a few days ago, but they're (understandably) keeping hush-hush about it, as I've heard nothing back. (Either that or they've been busy. Ya never know.)

I'm not sure if there's any significance other than flavor to those percentages, though it occurred to me to make a map of those percentages, like if we saw percentages instead of faces in that grid, what would that look like? Then again that's probably just me looking for patterns where there are none. (But I like how Crowley's portrait is positioned so it looks like he's pointing at Eva, as if to say "she's right there, guys.")

I'm excited about tomorrow! See you then!

 		In regards to the percentages:

On EPWA's voicemail, we hear the lady say "Thaddeus Willing and Eva Bless" I think EPWA or the followers of DNC (divine nonchalance) regard Taddeus as the "God" of DNC and Eva the "Jesus" or something... They are both important figures in the realm of DNC. That is why they are at 100% and 110%

I've been into looking at the page sources for all the websites to see if there is any special hidden info there. For St. Thaddeus it says that he is the Patron Saint of Nonchalance. For Eva it says she is the Queen of Nonchalance. For all others it just says they are nonchalant. Other than that I haven't found anything mind blowing or super interesting. On one there is that email that tells us about Wednesday being the day.

I also looked up the WHOIS records for the different sites and they are all registered to an Everlee Tsay in Berkeley who doesn't seem to actually exist. And they were created on different dates. I don't know just another way to investigate...although not yet fruitful. Oh and organelle- I am confused. Melissa and I saw that flier too and it seems that she is unrelated to the whole hunt and trying to get in on it. I don't really get it.

Hey, sorry if I'm rehashing stuff that you've already seen, but the jejune posters just showed up in Berkeley and there's one that I haven't seen referenced here. The text is as follows:

Yeah, the same poster has been found in the city... we've decided that these posters are more ways for people to find jejuneinstitute.org and take the initation..

BUT ON A BIGGER NOTE:

If you go to the JI LOGIN page, the picture has changed BACK to "Universe Closed Use Rainbow"

Not sure if there is a problem with the computer I'm on... but the next chapter may be starting up soon! This is good news!

EDIT: Info on St. Jude:

The "Fire" on top of St. Jude represents: (From wikipedia) He is also often shown in icons with a flame around his head. This represents his presence at Pentecost, when he received the Holy Spirit with the other apostles.

"Pentecost Sunday is 50 days after Easter. This year, Pentecost Sunday will be on 27th May.

It is the birthday of the Christian church."

I know this date is far off... but this may be something.

CaptKing, I don't know if this is relevant, but regarding Pentecost:
