I seem to be the only one on the second floor?

Anyway, I've found another key fragment, this time with a bit of red checkered pillow case.

I'm going to finish up and head off to bed. I'll log on after work tomorrow.

I just found a dumbwaiter in my closet. Provided that it's functional, which I'm checking now, I should be able to send things to upper/lower floors.

I'm wondering about other people who might be on the second floor with you, Aki. Particularly room 270 since I'm in 570 above them.

Either way, I'm gonna head to bed, too. Goodnight, all!

found a red checked key fragment under my nightstand, something glinting in the toilet bowl, gonna guess it's a third.

ETA:

You retrieve a key fragment -- it seems to be the bottom of the key, and has a square of now quite soaked plain violet rug tied to it.

I will read everything that has happened AFTER I update on what I've been up to.

I am going to explain my exchanges as quickly as possible, whilst highlighting some important text. Then I have to get back to getting caught up.

Basically, I open my eyes and looking about. He replies:

Quote:
You glance around yourself: it seems to be a normal hotel room, complete with closet, bathroom, and front door. The bed you sit on is plush, and clad in lilac blankets. As you push the blankets away from yourself, in preparation to stand, you note that it seems someone has cut a square out of your blankets.

Odd.

and then I reply:

Quote:
I shake the blankets, expecting the missing piece to fall out. Afterward I fold the blanket and move over to the closet. I open it.

and then he replies:

Quote:
The missing piece remains missing.

When you approach the closet, you note that your bags are sadly missing. On closer inspection, you also find that there seems to be a small hole carved into the back wall of the closet.

Before you can investigate further, however, you are distracted by something you spot in the corner of your eye.

There seems to be something sticking out from underneath the front door.

Then I ask him if I've seen any other test subject in the hotel before all this, and if I remember the number on the door. He replies 'no' to both of these questions.

Also, I tell him I am wearing purple pajamas with blue circle patterns, giving off the impression of disease. xD

Then I reply, cursing the disappearance of my bags. I say I had cooked zucchinis stashed away in one of them in case I got hungry. I then move to investigate the object underneath the door.

Quote:
As you near the door, you pause. Is that piano music? You double-take, and find that yes, that is piano music. Seems to be coming from downstairs.

When you reach the door, you note that a floor plan is hung on it, complete with "You are here" tag. As for the object, when you lift it up, you note that it is a weighted envelope.

And then the rest of the quotes below occurs:

Quote:
Before I have the chance to examine the envelope I get the sensation to pee.
Sticking the envelope
in my underwear - I don't have
any pockets, and I'm prone to improvising -
I stalk, rather uncomfortably, into the restroom.

Whatever is going on, it can wait for my bladder to complete its rounds.

Quote:
You waddle
to the bathroom.

Quote:
After suitably
urinating, I pick the envelope
back up (having put it on the sink). I open it.

Quote:
Out from the envelope slides a folded piece of paper, as well as a key fragment. The fragment seems to be the middle shaft of the key, and has a square of violet oriental rug tied to it.

Quote:
Sticking them back inside the envelope,
I examine myself in the mirror and
wash my hands. I can't walk around with bed hair!

Update you all, a little more concisely, soon!

Quote:
I look to see if there is anything else of note on the door, and try the knob, if that fails to work, I pass the violet rug key through the hole in my closet and the red square key through the hole in my wall.

Quote:

The door is locked.

The key fragments pass easily through the holes.

Shoved behind the headboard of your bed, is an old Salvidor Dali painting.

A square is missing from it.

Quote:
I open the folded piece of paper.

What does it have on it?

After this, I open any cabinets in the room, look inside the toilet before I flush it, and stick a wad of toilet paper inside the toilet to flush it with.

It is my unique way of checking to see if this is a dream or not. Pinching is over done.

Quote:
Everything reacts the way you would expect.

The note reads: "Did you ever even feel regret?"
On a second look-over, you notice something glinting within one of the bathroom cabinets.

Going to go check that out.

EDIT: Just wanted to share that the glinting thing was a key fragment. A top part of a key. Wrapped with it is an orange swirly blanket square. I try the door after discovering this to find it is locked(Unsurprisingly according to the Landlord. My reply was: I find it surprising that I am unsurprised about this surprising revelation. xD)

Because my character is claustrophobic, I begin to panic. I tried to connect the two patches of cloth I found to the blanket, while also trying the key pieces in the hole, while ALSO kicking the hole in the wall in my growing frustration...and tossing the nightstands on the ground, searching for a drawer of some sort. xD Don't lock me in a room.

I am going to bed now, as well.

no you're not. I am in room 275 and in my envelope I found a fragment of a top key with a swatch of red oriental rug. I start searching for more fragments and holes in the wall, if there are any.

Why oh why did I have to go to bed...

So I am in room 575.. and I now have sent:

Quote:
I wake up and sit in my bed wondering where the room-service menu is... does this place have free HBO?

After that I patiently investigate the contents of the envelope...

Now to wait for the landlord to be around Wink

Yay, I'm not all alone!

Here is an updated map. It looks like a few people have keys that have known homes.

EDIT:
Okay, I'm done updating this for now.

I tried to update the one on the wiki, but it wasn't cooperating.

lol, thank you. It clearly demonstrates that I have nothing to do here at work.

I didn't know that you can use "nothing to do" in combination with the word work Wink At least I couldn't be able to use this for the last weeks.

Nice job on the map Aki!

It looks like I have shylil's key bits too, she put them through the hole in my closet. I got this after I went to bed, I assume it's shylil-
Quote:
A thunk emits from the closet.

You also hear someone yelling, the voice is the same as the one you conversed with chickens about.

"Orange carpet, orange bedspread, Dali Painting cut up."

Hey you, we're neighbours!

last night I found this-

Quote:
Underneath the mattress, you find a key fragment: the fragment seems to be the middle of the key, and has a portion of a "for dummies" book cover tied to it.

In the first game someone (SPI?) made a hilarious reference to a "for dummies" book, I'll check who it was.

We should all put what key bits and random bits we have in the wiki so it will be easier to connect the dots to find out who gets what bit. Smile
