Nice one, Todd.

Not sure if any of this is right, of course, but we can always hope.

How was your assignment as 'Kind'? Did the people know what this is about or did they take it for a REAL promotion campaign?

[Slightly OT...]
Well, ATF was ridiculously busy this year - over 6000 attended (close to 7000 iirc), and at best there were as many or fewer volunteers than past years... so I didn't have a lot of time to 'advertise', and CoV wasn't able to get official permission from the event for me to 'represent'. So I couldn't really hand out or share about CoV while on duty (and I was manning merch tables, so when they're not actively selling, we have to watch over them).
At one point all the guys were throttled into an adjacent building via the outdoors, and I was pulled from merch to direct people to the right place, outside, in the rain... thousands of guys of all ages, and I was put at the most important spot - in a courtyard, where there's no clear direction of where to go without a director. After the bulk of guys passed, more stragglers kept coming... the whole time... I couldn't leave. However, other volunteers helping direct did leave to go inside, leaving me there to tend to stragglers, in the rain, who I only ever directed to the next volunteers... who disappeared... and I didn't know specifically where to send these people...
suffice to say my patience virtue was put to the test Razz. Some guys came back basically at a loss for where to go, so I went to check it out, got some basic idea before heading back to the courtyard and find a big group of more guys meandering about looking lost..because no one was there to direct them. *sigh*
Stragglers even kept coming until that session was done. No break. I went back inside after the throng was back in the stadium, to man a merch table again.
Lunch was 30 mins or so. Breaks were on shifts, and even while on a break people would for help, since of course, you're a volunteer and know everything about the event... Razz
Volunteering was frmo the moment the doors open to some point while the thousands of people start to dwindle, but the group I was staying with overnight with had to leave for the hotel, so I was out and back again bright and early with little to no time to 'chat'.

Anyway, it was a great weekend, lots of fun, and exhausting... I managed to tell some people 'not' to buy the book... not to go looking for a copy... not to buy it from Amazon.com, who shouldn't be selling it... because it's, you know, evil and bad... etc Laughing and tried to give out a few cards.
Never got to wear the shirt though. So I still have a decent stack of cards for each virtue. I'll have to carry them around and hand them out randomly Smile

I'm taking on the responsibility of being "Patient" to promote the CoV this coming weekend in Pittsburgh, I'm looking forward to a ton of crazy looks as I hand out those cards and wear my t-shirt!

Kindness is up!

One solution so far in the Pastor's message about the election:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you use the electoral votes for each state and convert to a math equation using plus for the positive states and minus for the losing states, you get alphanumeric code which translates to:

SAVE CARMEN R FROM CARLOS FIRENZE

Looking at the pledge drive workers, Carmen Rodgers is on the list. Carlos isn't.

Note: I couldn't figure out how to post table data from a spreadsheet... any tips?

Braille

Looking at the video, the blind beggar tries to feel the pledge card that Pastor gives him as he puts it in his pocket. Seems like a clear indication that Braille is going to be used somehow to solve the pledge card puzzle.

Also, if you look at the pledge card entry lines, they are each constructed differently with different dash and line arrangements.

At work and don't have time to do more right now, but someone may take this and run with it.

David

I noticed when you call the Citizens of Virtue phone number the message is slightly different. They recommend clicking the "How to Get Involved" link on their page or googling their name. These just seem like ways to let people new to the game know what is going on.

Also, if you dial extension 708 the message is:
You've reached Citizens of Virtue security. If anyone is harming you or any other virtuous citizen report it here. Leave the nature of the difficulty, your name, and your phone number. We will find you.

One other small change is that the field on the COV page to report someone in an unkind act now asks for "Your Name/Email/Report".

Sorry, Bruce, for not being more specific. Take the first line of the election page:

Quote:
We will take Florida and Connecticut, but New Jersey is lost to us.

If you take the electoral votes for these three states and create the equation:

27 + 7 - 15 = 19 = S

Do that for each row and you get the message I listed earlier.

Nice job on the PASSAGES/GIFT message. I wondering if we're supposed to figure out what to fill into each box on the pledge card and then hit PRINT.

#4 vid

couple things I noticed about the new vid:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The verse at the beginning says TNIV 1 Matthew 23:16-22, but obviously there's no "first matthew", although the verse itself is correct.
"passagesgift" might refer to verses 18 and 19
Also, I took a screen shot of the filled out donor card. there seems to be an overemphasis on the four and ten. Also I can't tell if some of the letters below are in bold for a reason.

The pledge card in the Kindness video shows the words FOUR and TEN in darker writing on the big pledge card and typed out on the pledge card "Pastor" Grace is holding. The pledge card is signed by John on both cards.

John 4:10 says: "Jesus answered her, 'If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.'"

Where does this lead?

For Qaqaq's list of cities, take the first three letters of each (just like the contact codes are the first three letters of the last names) to get:

TO REDISCOVER CARLOS, LIVING AT LARGE WITH AN ASSUMED NAME, YOU MAY KNOW HIM AS SAL NEWMAN.

There's a Salvatore Newman on the list...

Dang!
Wow, Projectyl, wow...

And again I say, wow. I knew there was something there and I just couldn't see it. Amazed am I -- truly floored.

(So I guess the fact that Carlos Fierenze might (somewhat weakly) be an Italian Alias of Charles Florence probably not worth saying but since I wasted a couple minutes thinking it, I thought I'd share in case it came up.)

All that being said, did anyone find the definite antidote for Passionix yet?

internal memo!

Hey, entering "carlos" or "carmen" into the report an unkind act brings you to an internal memo!
