Cards and books in Hong Kong

I just went through all my cards. My first 6 start with 2 and everything after starts with 4.
Does that make any difference? Do you think they look at them to see where we are eligable to win the prize?

I also have a few extra "books" that came with the card packs here. If anyone is in need, send me a pm. I'll trade for physical 400 cards.

Did those books come out in the States?

Family Tree

Hi,
Im new and love the 39 Clues and was wondering if the game is different in the US or UK.
I live in Aus and here all we do is read the books collect the cards and find clues.
I also have a family tree from a bonus book that comes with card packs if any one wants it.
Cheers RUSTY96

Weird Numbers

Those weird numbers people were talking about are simply a code.
1=A 2=B and so on.

Also, does anyone else get the cards that have puzzles.
I've solved all mine and cannot figure out how they help.

I have 50 cards and will swap codes 4 codes if i think its fair!!!!

If you read backwards in the forum you'll find that US card codes at the bottom don't start with a 4. My question should have been if I have all these cards starting with a 4, will scholastic let me enter the prize draw in the us, or do I need to go through Australia. In otherwords, are scholastic keeping track of where the cards originate based on the different leading numbers.

edit--I'm questining this because I live in HK, but the US is home. My mailing address is there.

unlocked clues

I'm obviously bored and have nothing better to do than troll webpages today. I was just looking at the clues page and wondering why the three unlocked clues are all over the place. Why are they not next to eachother? It can't be because of their atomical number because that just doesn't work. Any ideas?

UK promo cards

This is the reply I got from Scholastic UK:

Quote:
The UK 39 Clues promotional cards were given to Amazon, Waterstones and The Times. These were up on their websites at publication, but appear to have been taken down. We are looking into the possibility of getting them back and use them on the Scholastic site, but for the moment they are unavailable. The USA promotional cards were identical and given to Borders USA, Walmart and another that we do not have the details for. The promotional time is not known on these and they can not be found on their websites either.

Kind Regards

I suspect, like others, that the clues will spell out the prize message in the end and so the order of the clues (& therefore, the letters in them) might be significant.

I spend far too much un-spare time playing that Ekats colour mixing game from Mission 0 whilst waiting for the next installment. And visiting here helps too Wink

They came out in the US, but the back half is quite different. There are no pictures of the different teams or the family tree. Instead they have all the official information for all the countries as to who is eligible, etc.

I don't see why Scholastics wouldn't honour it. As you said, you have a US address to send any prizes to.

Cards Market

I wonder if it would be worth (or possible) to set up one place where everyone could list cards they want to swap, buy or sell. It would have to be easily updated by those using it but it would be one central point to collect this information so people wouldn't have to wade through all the posts so far to see who's got or wants what and hope that they still do.

I've seen a number of posts asking about storage for the cards, I'm keeping my in a photo album that holds pictures up to 4' x 6'. The cards fit very well into the pockets going lengthwise and then I can just flip through the pages to see what cards I have and still need.

I like this idea. We'll be copying it. Strange that with all the thought Scholastic has put into this project that they haven't come up with a custom-built product. Missed opportunity.

It is a great idea. I haven't found anywhere except ebay.

This is only a suggestion: If you look at my ebay presently, I have sell or trade. What I could do is set it up by country. If someone is interested in trading and you have that card and are looking for certain cards, I pass your email address on with what you are looking for. It cuts down on postage and everyone hopefully gets what they want. I set it up on a month to month basis.

If interested, I need to know by or before 8AM EST (GMT-5--new time) Sunday as the listing closes early Sunday.

Thoughts, critics, please email me.

Madrigal connection to KGB/CIA, etc

katsmom wrote:
I think at this point everything is theory. There aren't enough clues yet, an way too many cards to get. We still don't know what to do with them.

Not everything is theory. We know some things. Confused Don't we?

Maggie wrote:
Madrigals are a group of people who know about the 39 clues and will do anything to find them first. Think of it this way:

Lucian = KGB -- Russia
Janus = MI6 -- England
Ekatrina = CSIS -- Canada
Tomas = CIA -- United States

It sounded as if Maggie was stating something she had figured out about how the Madrigals were related to the CIA/KGB and the families, and I wondered how she drew that conclusion. Even if it is just a theory, I would like to understand what it is based upon. I might be able to build upon it or strengthen the theory. I was just hoping that Maggie could explain her comment a little further.

the cards that have puzzles need to be unlocked (by inputting the write answer) before you can use them

what i dont get tho is how do we "use" them i think they mean when we can combine finally i learned this from the website
