Mr. Bryson,

I don't know what kind of organization you are running there, but you have a board of directors which so far has shown to have DWI's, who teach young children how to shoot firearms without their parents' consent, and who frequent houses of ill-repute when at the same time they are trying to make a drug that reduces the sex drive in teens. Did you know, by the way, that this Dr. Janes included the use of COCAINE in his human trials?

You have some housecleaning to do, Mr. Bryson. A good start would be to release any of patients from the trials due to the health concerns involved. Evidence? There's plenty and I'm a heartbeat away from handing it all in to the authorities. However, I like our Good Lord, am a believer in forgiveness. Do the right thing before the atmosphere around CoV gets extremely complicated.

Firmly,
Mr. Mardeaux

Hmm, idea...

This new DI (might I mention that it was LATE) seems to mention some sort of function (ie. f(x)=3x^2+2x-5) and the 'dual points', as well as the choosing not to change paths clues in the word INTERCEPT, but it isn't really cryptic or anything.

I'm thinking today's DI is describing a math/science/greek symbol or somesuch (like theta or pi, but neither fits the description)... a symbol with a wavy line, and two intersections - one with a vertical intersecting line, and one with a horizontal.

Nice solve, Projectyl!!!

Update on Kindness -
So i left a voicemail with "security" about a week ago with my name, number and a brief message - "Sal Newman beats his wife"
and this weekend received a call from an "Officer Bradley", asking for more details. I was pretty surprised, i have to say, and not really in a place to talk. Shocked Later I send a text to the phone number I received the call from (a Redmond, WA number, btw) with the following

"Carlos firenze is living under an assumed name - Salvatore Newman, on COVs pledge workers in knoxville. Have proof. *my email*

I received a call back from "Officer Bradley" saying that my message had been received and that I would be contacted soon.

This game rocks Smile

Thought on today's DI

What if it's just a CIRCLE? if you don't go north, south, east, or west, you're just at point (0,0)?
Just a thought, seems a little simplistic . . .

Here's the DI anyway:

Quote:

A man of science travelled a winding road. Twice he reached a crossroads; at the first he could have turned north or south, but he did not. Then he could have turned west or east, but he did not. In the end, his voyage was not a function of his destination; it was the dual points where he chose to persist that mattered.

This may be describing the y = 1/x graph at first sight.

If so, then the "dual points where he chose to persist" will refer to the ASYMPTOTES (y=0 and x=0 ?)

Hope this helps...

Officer Bradley also called me back after I left a similar message as The Sparr0w. He left a message for me saying he got my message and I should call back if I have further questions. The wierd part, though, was that I could still hear him after he seemed to think he had hung up. This is what he said:

uhh that was terrible. I'm freaked out. I left a message and it was terrible because you freaked me out. and I wish you could... ok you are really affecting my abilities you know what ...(a few words I can't understand) really bothers me. I want to go home and I don't want to talk about it anymore. I am trying to reach Josh.

I can't tell if it was on purpose or not but I kink of think that he really thought he had hung up.

Could this Officer Bradley be one of the 7? He might have done it on purpose because he was being watched by whomever he was talking to, and wanted you to know what was up? Do we know of a Josh involved with this game?

Imagine walked a path in the shape of infinity (that sideways figure 8). Orient it such that the middle is a plus sign. When you first reach the intersection, you could turn north or south but continue west; when you next reach the same intersection, you could turn west or east but continue south.

So I'm barely able to keep up with you guys. But I just noticed Savannah's new Facebook line and it says this:

Savannah Merks is wondering if any of her friends know where I could find these persons of interest: Mr. Mardeaux, Mr. Iley, or a Mr. Carnes?

I don't think that graph works because it doesn't have any intersections at all. There's lots of curves that would cross first the Y-axis, then the X-axis. So maybe this is all just to clue curves in general.

Ooh! That's neat solution! But to me it doesn't quite match the DI. The DI seems to imply there were two intercections, because surely there would have been something about approaching the *same* intersection twice if the infinity symbol were meant.

I tried to figure in the mathematical concept of duality, but the dual of a curve is generally just another curve, so I haven't really gotten an answer that works. And I think looking into geometry and functions is too complicated. I'm voting for FractalP's "INTERCEPTS". That's just what intersections with the X and Y axes are called. It also happens to be a 10-letter word for my 5-6-7-8-9-10 theory. Laughing

So ...

I just received another message from Officer Bradley at 10:41am -

"Mr. Iley, You and your friends have gotten me into a great deal of trouble. This woman will not get off my back. Clearly change is a coming. I've taken your information and passed it on to the authorities. I don't know what's gonna happen from here, I just don't know. She's on a rampage. I'm not gonna be in the middle of it, let me tell you. Uh, bye."

I'm Josh, btw. I also noticed Savannah's message.

Any thoughts on how I should proceed?

And Xander's posted on the Garden Wall:

Quote:
Thanks for the update, Dude! I am blown away by your skills. I'm curious to see if it's Kevin or Doug who's one of us. Sounds like we should find out any time now. And, man, it has to be Carmen. Sound like she's been through a lot. Kindness is the perfect virtue for her, from what I know of her. Can't wait to meet her too. And I doubt I ever would if it wasn't for people like you. Thanks -- and can you pass my thanks on to the others you're working with? I've got to get back to raking Aunt Lila's leaves. She has a wicked amount of leaves. Peace.
