codes for promo cards

katsmom wrote:
I have two of the pdf files for the promotional cards, the amazon uk card, the one from the times. I also have a copy of hte family tree from Scholastic. Is there anyway to load those on here?

If you look to the left hand side when you are editing your post, there is an option to "Add an attachment".

Windlane i think is right cause how are dan and amy supposed to find all 39 clues if there are only10 books and he only get 1 clue from each i think we only get one clue online added by putting in the cards that came with the books code but then amy and dan might find like 2 or 3 clues in that book and i think those clues would be the clues we found by playin the game because then they would be showing us clues that we already knew well thats what i think

Katsmom i dont think we will get all the sharable cards at once like someone said (i forgot name) that more will come out as we get closer to book 2 and i agree with this theory

yep cause i have 68 cards and im missing 10 (im missing cards 31 and 60) so ya i think the 8 cards that are missing are the other sharable code cards cause arent we missing 8 of those and the sharable code cards dont help us at all really thats what i saw online at 39clues.com
There are no more shareable codes. The 8 cards you are referring to are Physical cards of the 400's which have duplicate codes of the 1's you already have.

Wacaga, I am not following your logic. Isn't tyty2001 referring to the same 8 empty slots that you are referring to? The perfectly valid idea that tyty2001 puts forth is that the 8 empty card slots will be sharable cards. How can you say that there are no more sharable card codes? What do you base that upon?

I agree with tyty2001 that there must be more sharable card codes. And I think they will be made available with the release of Books 2 and 3. Just my opinion... so nix my idea that we use the slots for combined cards and replace it with this. Smile
The sharable codes (400's) are PROMO cards to promote The 39 Clues "Series". The promotional period for the 39 Clues is over and has been for over a month. The cards are from 400 to 416 (17 in all). They are Virtual, Physical or Both. Here's the #'s of the 9 sharable codes: 404-407, 410, 413-416. That leaves 8 cards that we all thought could be sharable. It didn't happen! Someone found a Physical card #400 (1 of the missing Cool. The code was entered but Card 400 didn't show up. Instead, #416 popped up again, and later discovered 400 & 416 were identical (including the code), except the Title of the Card. UH-OH now there's only 7 cards left & we're missing 8 UH-OH! There's more, but go to various.wikibruce.com/39clues to see for yourself. Later.

Hmmm. Then somebody finds another 4xx card that we missed and now there are only seven cards missing in my set instead of eight....

If I look at the photo credits, I find (some missing cards):
Quote:
403. Clue Hunter's Best Friend: art direction/photoshop imaging: Patty Harris, alley: © kenny1/Shutterstock.
408. The Spaz: young female: © Michael Helms via Sandy Dell.

And then if I look at the card credits (further down the credits page):
Quote:
Card 400: Bookworm with attitude: art direction/photoshop imaging: Patty Harris, photo: Times Square, New York: © Alan Schein Photography/Corbis.
Card 401: The Wannabe Ninja: art direction/photoshop imaging: Patty Harris, photo: Red Fort and Palace, India: © John Henry Claude Wilson/Robert Harding World Imagery/Corbis.
Card 402: The Pint-Sized Assassin: art direction/photoshop imaging: Patty Harris, photo: Sydney Opera House, Australia: © R. Wallace/Stock Photos /zefa/Corbis.
Card 403: Clue Hunter's Best Friend: art direction/photoshop imaging: Patty Harris, photo: Westminster Bridge, England: © John Miller/Robert Harding World Imagery/Corbis.
Card 404: ...
Card 405: ...
Card 406: ...
Card 407: ...
Card 408: Meijer Card: art direction/photoshop imaging: Patty Harris.
Card 409: Walmart Card UK: art direction/photoshop imaging: Patty Harris, London reflection in Thames River: © Ant Clausen/Shutterstock.
Card 410: ...
Card 411: ...
Card 412: The Pit Bull: art direction/photoshop imaging: Patty Harris, photo: Westminster Bridge, England: © John Miller/Robert Harding World Imagery/Corbis.
Card 413: ...
Card 414: ...
Card 415: ...
Card 416: ...

Of particular interest, the description of the cards suggest that some of them share photos (but not necessarily the backs of the cards):

Quote:
Card 400 / 416: Times Square, New York.
Card 401 / 413: Red Fort and Palace, India.
Card 402 / 415: Sydney Opera House, Australia.
Card 403 / 412 / 414: Westminster Bridge, England.
Card 404 / 409: London reflection in Thames River.
Card 405 / 411: Gare De Lyon train station.
Card 406 / 410: Big Ben, London.

And for the curious:
Quote:
Card 407: Independence Hall, Philadelphia.
Card 408: Meijer Card (no photo credit).

No I might have trouble counting but I think that clearly says that there are 17 cards (ignoring any misprint problems for a moment). Of those cards we have the codes for 10 and we are missing 7. 7+10 = 17. The codes we have are:
Quote:
404 / G69CTWHC9T
405 / G69CKR3K9T
406 / G69DMK929T
407 / G69GJPMM9T
410 / G69D22369T
411 / G69JWR249T
413 / G69K3JP99T
414 / G69JTFHR9T
415 / G69GJ9TF9T
416 / G69GF9HN9T

I know some cards have one number printed on the front but came up as a different card when entered. I assume these are mistakes. The number which activates that card is still out there somewhere and at least some of the cards have a clue as to the source. Who or what is Meijer?

It means the photos / card-fronts have the same description. They may or may not have the same backs. Given the comments in my previous (very long) post, I suspect that there are real codes for each card but there are some misprints out there....

Gilbo i agree

we do have 10 cards and we need 7 more that is because the cards are:
400
401
402
403
408
409
412

the 400 cards go 400-416 which means there will be 17 cards because it doesnt go 401-416

Meijer is a grocery store chain in the Midwest of the US (Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky). TheRealPip has hounded his local clerks, but the clerks have said the store doesn't have any promo cards. (yet?)

When 411 popped up as a Virtual Card, my whole theory Crashed & Burned. So since 411 showed up Virtural, why can't the others? So I agree with you & Gilbo. 400-403 & 412 must be Virtual Cards. 408 & 409 appear to be Physical Cards. They won't provide any new info since they're all matched up cards we already unlocked. 408 is the only one NOT MATCHED up, so it could help us.

???? How did I miss that? I saw the one posted for card 410 (the "duplicate" or "match" or whatever you want to call it of 405). Was that the one you were talking about? That one doesn't have anything to do with the "pup" though. The only "pup" that we have so far is the code for 415 (do you have the code for 402 or 412?).

Still nothing yet. I checked as reciently as last weekend. I am hoping the card is released during or just before the 2nd book (one of those reserve your book here and get a promotional card things).

current list of virtual and physical cards

I would like to take a moment to check to make sure no new data has slipped by.

  • Card 400: Bookworm with attitude --- we found a physical card in Aulstrailia, but the code unlocks 416... so misprint I think - still no code yet
  • Card 401: The Wannabe Ninja--- we found a physical card in Aulstrailia, but the code unlocks 413... so misprint I think - still no code yet
  • Card 402 - The Pint-Sized Assasin --- we found a physical card in Aulstrailia, but the code unlocks 415... so misprint I think - still no code yet
  • Card 403 - Clue Hunter's Best Friend--- we found a physical card in Aulstrailia, but the code unlocks 414... so misprint I think - still no code yet
  • Card 404: The Spy Kit - G69CTWHC9T (Walmart Card) --- so far virtual only.. and noone can confirm first hand the real source (but supposedly it is in some "All You" magazine)
  • Card 405: Surveillance - G69CKR3K9T (Borders Card) --- physical card found in US (amoung other places), but printed ast #2 (it does unlock 405)
  • Card 406: Natalie's Strategy - G69DMK929T (Independent Bookseller) --- confirmed physical in US at a signing with Mr. Riordan
  • Card 407: The Underdogs - G69GJPMM9T (Hastings) - physical confirmed in US
  • Card 408: Meijer Card - nothing so far
  • Card 409: Walmart Card UK - nothing so far
  • Card 410: Natalie's Strategy - G69D22369T (Indie Card UK) --- no physical card confirmed... but we have the code (can anyone confirm 1st hand where we got the code?)
  • Card 411: Borders Card UK - G69JWR249T --- virtual only so far ... and we got the code here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/education/young_times/
    http://extras.timesonline.co.uk//pdfs/spy-times.pdf
  • Card 412: The Pit Bull --- nothing so far
  • Card 413: Ninja Boy - G69K3JP99T (Angus & Robertson) - we have the physical card 401 that unlocks this... but no physical card printed 413 (I beleive... any confirmations?)
  • Card 414: The Pup G69JTFHR9T (Angus & Robertson bookstore in Aulstrailia)- we have the physical card 403 that unlocks this... but no physical card printed 414 (I beleive... any confirmations?)
  • Card 415: The Smallest Assassin G69GJ9TF9T (Angus & Robertson bookstore in Aulstrailia)- we have the physical card 402 that unlocks this... but no physical card printed 415 (I beleive... any confirmations?)
  • Card 416: The Bookworm - G69GF9HN9T (Angus & Robertson bookstore in Aulstrailia)- we have the physical card 400 that unlocks this... but no physical card printed 416 (I beleive... any confirmations?)

Is this correct? Does anyone have different/new data to correct/add?

all those physical cards with 'no code yet' are really why I organized it by code instead of card number. eg, 401's code is the same as 413. I don't think we'll ever find a code that unlocks '401'. I think we'll only find codes that unlock virtual cards, and all the card numbers will be covered either by the unlocked card, OR a physical card... so the only numbers not found yet (physical or virtual) are 408, 409, and 412. Though I'm not sure of 400 and 401 - have any cards been reported with those numbers, physical or virtual?

edit: n/m, 400 & 401 were physical cards from australia.

Not sure if this is a new code or not, but it did add an additional copy of #414 for me: G69JTFHR9T. I found it at http://www.scholastic.com.au/files/schools/bookclub/aust/brochures/current/Star_7_08.pdf
for gilbo and therealpip
Like I said...don't know its new,but it added another copy of 414 for me
EDIT: Looks like it will add all the copies you want. I thought that since it increased the card quantity, it was new. Should have checked the previous posts before I posted it. Sorry about that.

Yes. Correct/Add: 400-403 are not mis-prints, 412 is another dupe of 403/414 (these look like they going to end up as Virtual to me. 409 is a dupe of Virtual 404 & probably is Physical. 408 has NO DUPE and is called "The Spaz" - again as Physical.
