by all means, go!

Quote:
Is it ok of people tag along if a spots already "taken" ?

The invitation is for everyone, and I am sure there will be people at many spots who haven't heard of unfiction or the list. The purpose of the list is to help make sure as many spots as possible are covered, not to confer exclusive possession on anyone. Very Happy

So, anyone who can go to a location and who wants to be part of what is happening should go. And, if you choose to go and you don't feel like reporting in, that's fine too. There is no obligation-- some people want to play as part of a large group, some people have smaller groups of their friends, some people prefer to work alone. There is no right or wrong way to play and nothing required in return for playing.

Since it seems like the Dalla coordinates are pretty well covered now, I'm going to bow out and let the others have the glory. But if the choreographed robots do show up, make sure to tell them to bust one out for Andy.

I would like to head out to the axon point in michigan, but am not sure about one thing. What time do I need to be there on the 24th? Is PDT pacific time or something else? Time is really important if I need to be there for a telephone call so I want to be sure on this.

Yes, PDT = Pacific Daylight Time. (If memory serves, Michigan is on Eastern time, which means you're three hours ahead of PDT.)

Claiming another site

I'll be at the site in Berkeley, CA (listed as Oakland, CA) at 11:50 PDT, 37.871767, -122.272933.

Cleveland OH coordinates are as follows:
06:11 PDT - -081.607317,41.511567
University Circle, possibly Wade Park? (Near Cleveland Institute of Art and CWRU Weatherhead.)
Likely attending, finalizing plans currently.
09:56 PDT - -081.694250,41.508767
Goodtime 3 Dock, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, USS Cod Museum. It appears to be a parking lot on E9th that handles all three plus Cleveland Browns Stadium. (Yes, this is near water. It's on the lake, practically!)
Likely attending, finalizing plans.
14:32 PDT - -081.606833,41.511333
University Circle again. Looking at the offset, it may be Cleveland Institute of Art, and the first as Wade Park. (Yes, there are payphones in Wade Park.)
Likely not attending, will depend on what is found out elsewhere. 14:32 is 17:32 local, aka rush hour.
If you wanna caravan or such, catch me on IRC or PM here.

My cousin and brother have agreed to go to either of the two burbank sites. I wish I could go myself, I'd love to see what's going to happen first hand, but I have work.

Viirden,
I can take the two evening ones so you can hit the Stanwood one. They way you described the 5:19 it sounds like it's the Bellingham Public Library. I'll make sure to get some video footage at both too. Very Happy

High's a N/S st. Just the way it looks I'm leaning more toward it being the PAC/Viking Union. If not, I got friends who are interested who could scope out other spots.

http://www.wwu.edu/webcam/ is the closest webcam to the coord, if anyone wants to watch if they implied a bit away from the road.

I might be able to hit the 0855 location.
I'll definitely be at the 1150, 1559, 1643, and 1727 locations in Berkeley, California with digital camera in hand.

I will be reconning the locations tomorrow, 23 August.

What should I be keeping an eye out for besides payphones? I heard mention in a previous post about shapes; circles, triangles, etc.

Another in Santa Cruz

My buddy and I will be joining up the other Santa Cruz people ... I "conveniently" have to take my motorcycle in for service that morning, so no work for a couple hours. Wink

I did a little scouting with my GPS today. Unfortunately I wrote down slightly inaccurate coordinates (122.02054 instead of 122.020054) but did get some info.

I spotted five pay phones, of course; only one accepted incoming calls. (The one by the Beach Street Cafe, which will be open at 8am by the way.) If the blog entry was trying to spell things out for us as much as it seems, my bet's on that phone ringing (quietly) at 10:44am.

I may have missed some phones to the east of that position (my error carried me west, plus the unit was changing readings slightly over time) so wave frantically at us if we're way off on our lonesome. Wink

Can anyone help?

Boise Idaho Location

I'm sure I can make it to the 805 Ann Morrison Park Dr, BOISE, ID location at the specified time (16:27 PDT, 17:27 MDT). Luckily, this happens to be after school, and on my birthday (hehe), so I will try to be there on August 24th.

There are a couple of locations near Orlando, so I don't know which one you're referring to, but I believe most of the various coordinate lists either in this thread, on the wiki, on wishi's list, etc. all have links to sites that map the coordinates. None of these will give you an exact address, but if you are familiar with the area, the maps should guide you there.

Small error in xls

Sorry about this, just wanted to point out that line 15 and 29 should both be kent, ohio. 29 is technically right but might confuse some people that would go to it in kent. As for line 15, I think it got copied from line 14. I was not sure if updating this xls is a group project, so I will let you handle it. Thanks.
