What time are you guys calling that you're able to get through?

Try calling the Milwaukee Tourism Commission instead: 414-688-7035. It seems people have been able to talk to Mike on this number today.

Just called and got a hold of Joey at 414-688-7035. The conversation was more or less:

Quote:
Joey: Milwaukee Tourism Commission - this is Joey [said kind sing-songy, like he says this line a lot]

Me: Hey, Joey, how you doing? I saw the video you guys have the other day, and I was calling to see what was involved with moving back to Milwaukee. I used to live on the west side [true, except I was like 3 at the time, but hey], and I'm obviously not living there right now, but I was interested in getting back there.

Joey: Well...I'm just really a glorified admin here..

Me: Glorified admin? So you sit around and make all the big decisions?

Joey: *Chuckle* no, that's more of the higher ups. I'm really more of a paper pusher... I'm not involved in any decision making or anything [goes on for a bit] This answering the phone thing is new for me too...

Me: Sure...

Joey: Well, look, I got [something about an apartment? unclear] for you in the Canning District

Me: Oh? What's that?

Joey: You'd love it - lot of young, working professionals, lot of older families, it's great.

Me: Hmm..

Joey: Well, look, I gotta.. go take care of this thing, um..do we have your email?

Me: Yeah, I think so, I called over the weekend and left a message, not sure if you guys got it..

Joey: What's your email?

Me: [I tell him]

Joey: Yep, we got it. Have a great day.

Me: You too. Thanks for [he hangs up]...your time, Joey.

So, if there was any doubt, they're definitely collecting email addresses and hanging on to them. Now it's just a waiting game for now, I guess - someone mentioned hearing about "something big" on the web site today, right? So either that or the faxes...

He hung up on me REALLY rapidly at the end of the conversation too Laughing Sounds like you got more response out of him than I managed, though! Rude Joey is rude Razz

I believe someone who spoke to Mike earlier mentioned that the emails were apparently going to be sent out to us on Wednesday?

Aside... First ARG. Been lurking I saw this on SA. Freakin' stoked. Wife thinks I'm a nut.

Last night I finally had something worth posting over, but I'm just now getting a chance to actually post it.

I spoke with Mike last night (8914) and told him I was considering the move to Milwaukee. I asked what kind of timeframe I should be looking at. He said that something "really big" was going to happen in the Spring, and that I should really move up in the next four months.

But then he abruptly switched gears, got my email address, and said he'd send out a packet with more info soon. That was it.

Way to go on the NYPL visit, Big T.

So I just called Joey at 414-688-7035

The conversation was quick, but it went something like this:

Quote:
Joey: Hello, Milwaukee Tourism Commision. This is Joey.

ME: Hi, I was planning a move to Milwaukee and I'm looking for some rebreathers.

Joey: Hey just a second. (To some unknown person, probably fictional ->)Hey just put those down there, don't open em!!

Joey: Yeah, this is Joey.

ME: Yeah, so I'm moving to Milwaukee and I need some rebreathers. Is that something you guys have right now?

Joey: Yeah, I mean we're in pretty high supply right now. Um, can I get your e-mail address.

(basic e-mail exchange jargon)

Joey: Alright, sounds good. So when were you planning this move.

ME: Actually I was thinking later this week.

Joey: Pshhhh, well man, that's like really soon. I mean I dunno if you wanna move now with all the (unknown reference) around. I mean, haha, man that's not a good idea but if you wanna.

ME: Well, when do you think would be a better time.

Joey: Man, I don't even know to tell you the truth, that's not the business I deal in. Did you call Russo?

ME: Who?

Joey: Mike Russo, he'll be able to help you with that.

ME: Well could I get his number?

Joey: Yeah, just a sec...(rummaging). Alright, it's 414-688-8914

ME: Okay thanks man.

Joey: (to unknown person again) Hey, I told you not to open that!...well because it's not for you! Come on man. (To me) Hey look man I gotta go. *click*

So yeah, I dunno. He really doesn't want me to go to Milwaukee right now....although I'm totally going on Wednesday to visit my family for thanksgiving.

There's definitely something in the background image for the other youtube account.

I've increased the contrast and brightness to bring it out.

I got a hold of Joey!

I was kinda' shocked that I actually got through, but I asked him about some info, it went more or less like this:

Quote:
Joey: Milwaukee Travel Commission...

Me: Hi, my name is Robbie and I'm thinking about moving to Milwaukee and taking up Blackstar on their offer, do you have any information for me?

Joey: When are you looking to move?

Me: As soon as possible.

Joey: Really? Wow. Well, I have something for you in the Canning district...

Me: That sounds great, when can I move in?

Joey: I don't really know, I'm more of an administrator. Do we have your e-mail address?

Me: No, but I can give it to you.

*I give Joey my looooong e-mail address and crack him up by telling him the moral of the story is to never name your e-mail account after a star trek character*

Me: I have two teens I'm raising because I'm recently divorced and I heard in the video that there might be some problems for them in Milwaukee. What can I do to keep my kids safe?

Joey: We will give your teens all the tools and abilities they need to stay safe in Milwaukee. If you want any more information you'll have to call Mike Russo for details...

Me: Ok Joey, one last question and I'll let you go. I'm newly single, what's the dating scene like in Milwaukee?

Joey: Lots of *garbled*, beers, and fresca!

Me: Sounds great.

Joey: Ok, I have to go meet up with Russo in Sector 16, so I have to run.

Me: Thanks Joey.

Joey: No problem, bye!

Keep in mind this is paraphrased, it happened so quick and caught me off guard so I didn't get a chance to write it out as it was happening. That's the gist of my call though. I was going to ask him about non-human hook-ups but he kinda rushed off the phone after telling me about the dating scene.

Maybe someone else can ask about non-human loving in Milwaukee... Wink

Hey Guys,

I got the rude guy (I think). He didn't give me a name. This was the first time I ever made a call for an ARG, so I got a huge rush. I must have screwed things up though, because I got no answers. Are there tips on how to do phone conversations? Should I have been more explicit that I'm part of the ARG game?

The convo went something like this:

Quote:
Him: MTC

Me: [surprised to be talking to someone, because I just got a message a few seconds ago on a previous call, and wanted to confirm the number for Mike Russo] Oh, uh, hey man. I'm 16 and I need your help. My parents are acting strange.

Him: You don't sound 16 at all.

Me: [Now I'm concerned I dialed the number at all] Wait, who am I talking to right now?

Him: The MTC.

Me: Ok. Can you help me with my parents?

Him: You don't 16. You sound 30. [Ha, damn my deep voice]

Me: Well, thanks. But seriously man, I need some help.

Him: I'm sorry, I can't deal with this, that's not part of my job description.

Me: Wait... I really need... [he hangs up]

So, I don't know if that proves/disproves one of the posters being interested in the adults.

Also, I didn't get a chance to ask about the increased Asian presence, to see if that led anywhere...

If nobody's pointed it out yet, the person planting the Family Tree in the beginning is the Worker/glasses guy. You can see the glasses, and he moves the same way.

Also, he can skateboard!

Also, on the family tree coloring sheets:

I just talked to Joey at 414-688-7035

I asked him about the moving up, and he suggested moving to the canning district.

I also asked him about the 2009 youth conference, and he confirmed that it was cancelled, but that he didn't know if it would be rescheduled.

I asked him if it was cancelled due to the fragments, and he got really flustered and said that he's not allowed to talk about the reasons for the cancellation.

Interesting.

to the next person calling Joey:

try to corner him into telling you how long ago this all started (in his world).

second, ask if there's any entrepreneurial opportunities in Milwaukee and what jobs are in most needed supply.

I wonder if the godseeds are Triffid seeds?

Also, regentswift, that thing in the background of your image looks kind of like the thing crawling away in the POWER (2:40) section of the original video.

So I called Joey again and I told him that I decided to move to Milwaukee:

Quote:
Joey: MTC, this is Joey.

ME: Hey Joey, this is Evan, I called you like 5 minutes ago.

Joey: Who?

ME: Evan, I called you a while ago.

Joey: Oh, hey man. Yeah, I remember.

ME: So yeah, I sat and thought about it and I decided to make the move this week.

Joey: You know I really would talk to Russo first.

ME: I mean but...

Joey: If you like how your body is in its current state, your physical body, then you should talk to Russo first. He'll tell you what to do.

ME: Well I called that number you gave me, but it said his mailbox was full.

Joey: You know they say that patience is a virtue.

ME: Yeah....I guess.

Joey: Yeah I never really believed that either. (mumbling i hate my job).

ME: So yeah, I was just wondering when I move, I don't really know anyone there. I was wondering if you wanted to go to a restaurant with me and have a hamBURGER?

Joey: Awwww of course man!! I'd LOVE to have a hamBURGER with you!!!

ME: Okay man, I'll hit you up when I make the move.

Joey: Okay, I gotta go though. Theyre really pushin me here (more mumbling about job that sucks). *click*

That's awesome. It looks like the way to get Joey to open up is to sympathize with him since he hates his job.

Perhaps saying things like "man, there's no way you get paid enough to deal with this stuff all day... how are you holding up" would get him to spill more info?
