Also, I didn't realize so many of you guys were in austin. Anyone want to meet up?

If Austin is GONE, we should definitely only go out in groups of three.

I'll bring my flare gun!

Speaking of, has anyone asked what the rebreathers are for?

So..
Just got off the phone with Mike. Lots of info, here's what I could type up while he was talking.

-Joey's from what was formerly known as Pittsburgh, so he isn't up on what's "active" or "deactivated" (as far as relocating)

-Mike didn't want to talk about the 300 troubles, just too much, but said he didn't blame me for moving out then. Something about almost leaving at 222?

-Mike likes heading out to the Canning District Friday and Saturday nights with his girlfriend Marge. They really like Oriental Restaurants (mentioned several times), and Marge is into swinging.

-Canning District is fairly safe, but the outskirts are a little rough, especially if you don't have military training. Once you hit the desert, though, there just isn't any looking back.

-You really just need Class D or greater, not the (couldn't make this out...Rupture?) Resistant. Of course not everyone's a millionaire, and dark dollars are harder to come by these days.

-Lower Sectors are doing pretty good, but be careful on the outskirts. You really should have a flare gun and grater (grater?).

-Mike doesn't have all the answers, but they're sending out a packet "that does have all the answers" on Monday.

Just for the record, it sounds like the noises during the "teens only" segment aren't meant to be a part of the bit about schools - it sounds like somebody came into the recording room and pulled out the microphone (the buzzing noise happens whenever a cable on my mic comes loose and touches something metal), and then when it got plugged back in, the narrator was yelling about throwing the troublemaker to the Go.D.S.E.E.D. fragments.

Edit:

Nice work.

I think he means the 222nd "trouble", in the presumed series of 300 "troubles".

300 Troubles. Almost leaving at 222. Could this be in reference to Sector numbers? Perhaps it started at Sector 300, and has been spreading. And Black Star got security and defense up, but by that time, they'd lost all the sectors down to Sector 21.

- Oriental restaurant is an interesting mention.

- Swinging. Significance to that? Dancing seems to be pretty prominent too. Remember the Streetcar Shuffle?

i believe the classes are:

C Rupture Radar
G Rupture Resistant
K Rupture Reductive
L Rupture Rally

I just called Mike's number (414-688-8914). I've been trying on and off for the last hour and just now got through.

Yeah, that's the sense I got. For a second I thought he was giving me a year, and I just about dropped the phone Surprised

So if there's issues around the Rockies, and Austin is gone, and Pittsburgh is having enough issues to become "formerly known as Pittsburgh", I'm wondering if we can figure out what this map is: the remaining land in the US?

Yeah, I was worried about that. "Class D" was what it most sounded like, but he probably said C or G.

I think he meant the other kind

Hey guys, gonna mostly lurk on this one, unless something less phone-intensive comes onto the scene, but I thought I would throw this out there to y'all and see what you thought about it.

Is it possible that the female half of the couple in the club could be one of the "non-humans"? It might make sense with the female voice-over saying " he doesn't know.....does he?", and the odd "M-rotor" references in the pink frame. When I think about what the text is saying, it kinda sounds like, um, well... a description of non-human mating or something.

Just sayin' Wink

the use of 'Oriental' seems another one of those outdated references. Don't we call those asian restaurants?

that seems like the sexual kind of swinging to me. would go with the other kinky themes.

Map pieced together. Anyone who's good at geography recognize if this is a world map or map of the US?

I'm guessing that parts of the map are gone because of flooding. For example, when they say Austin isn't there anymore, it might be because it's flooded.

Can't really tell what it is. There doesn't seem to be any identifying features on it. It looks weird, though, almost as if it were upside down. I tried flippign it, but I still didn't recognize anything.

It looks to me like it very well could be a map of the US, just not to scale.
Top right being alaska, most of canada submerged, a lot of northern states submerged until you get to the illinois/michigan area. However, maybe I'm just grasping at straws

World Map
Middle East?

Part of the map looks like it might be the Middle East? In which case the Mediterranean has stomped over much of Asia.

I gathered the info from our phone calls about what places exist/don't exist.

Tell me if I have made any mistakes.
