Hm, the way this map lines up is bothering me. I assumed the circular region in the upper left of the TIMM map was either the Arctic circle, or the Antarctic...

I dropped in the rest of the cities... and SLC doesn't make the cut unless you do some brutal stretching. But I just can't get the lat/lon lines to sync up with the US allowing all 'ok' cities. Anyone else working on this?

I'm going to try to mess around with google earth a bit. It looks a lot like a spherical projection, so using flat maps might not work right... we'll see, i suppose Smile

Ok. I think I'm probably wrong. At the scale of the TIMM map, if the circular part in the upper left is the Arctic circle, then the map spans the entire Northern hemisphere. Land masses don't match up to anything I can find, unless it's a large part of Russia, or maybe Canada...

Posted some photos

I finally got a chance to post my photos of my trip to the New York Public Library today.

Enjoy!

(oh... and did we decide which wiki we are using?)

Just a thought...

The strange lines in the water on the background image might align with the lines on the map...

Maybe, after the flooding, this is what Milwaukee looks like?

Just a few thoughts

Just to sum up a few things that may be obvious, but have occurred to me nonetheless:

- We know this has to be taking place in the present, due to the Voicemail about the 2009 Leadership summit being cancelled. If it were the future, it would be a later date.

- The video obviously was meant to target *someone*, so the catastophe didn't effect everyone.

- In reference to the "Streetcar Shuffle", Milwaukee did acutally have streetcars. You can Google and find them. Whether this is a reference to the actual streetcars, or is part of a cypher is still a mystery.

- What exactly does Joey do? He works for the MTC, but has said repeatedly that he's not supposed to be on the phone. Do we know what his job is supposed to entail?

- Mike Russo is listed in the credits as the VP of Development for the MTC. He's also a cop? He does both?

- Has it occurred to anyone else that the fennel/family tree looks an awful lot like a human heart?

Those pics are great. I used to work in the CBS bldg at 53rd & 6th, and I was down near the library all the time on my lunch walks. I was actually going to go this evening, but you beat me to it Smile

Strange lines on map

Those 'strange lines' on the map are actually accurate to real milwauke - they are a part of the harbor and clearly visible on google maps.

Awesome, Big T!

I notice that on the note, it looks like it was originally 414-668-8417, then an 8 is written over the the second 6, making it 414-688-8417.

Maybe try the alternate number tomorrow? It's late on the east coast now.

Good point. There seems to be a theme of getting the prefix wrong. I seem to recall that on the main website, it was wrong initially.

You know how trees lose their leaves in the winter, right?

YEAAAAAH!

Well those leaves regrow in spring. and I feel the seasons may be changing.

True. A reference to January?

Good catch. I forgot about that one. So alternate present day it is. When did the Black Star stuff happen then? Recently?

I interpreted that exchange as Mike Russo used to work for Black Star, and now works for MTC. He's also out patrolling at night... Perhaps he had some special training at Black Star, and is using it to protect the people at night.

Alternatively, MTC also doubles as the local police in Milwaukee now, with a nice-sounding name. Sort of 1984-esque, with the Ministries.

Yea, I noticed that too. In fact, before reading up on the forums, I thought the picture on the Worker's suitcase was a heart.

----

Spring doesn't start in January... Isn't it more of a March thing?

Also, someone did mention they thought they heard "solstice" in the anime part about Champion Dynasty. That ties in with the seasons changing.

Thanks from me too for the photos bigt - looked like great fun. Cool

As for the wiki, personally I'd vote for using http://mymilwaukee.wikibruce.com as I find the layout and design kinder on the eye and likely to be more user-friendly as the game progresses. Smile

EDIT: And I'm happy to do some work tomorrow getting it more comprehensive...
