I braved posting in an anime forum in regards to Blackstar no Blackstar or Flax Seed - just in case.

Nothing so far - they say they've never heard of a Japanese anime by that name. Which may be nothing ... or something.

ps. joined for this - thank you for having me Smile

"Go along with" ? What do you mean?

Just because the map is real & accurate doesn't mean that the weapon wasn't specifically designed to match it.

Another tip to those working with the maps:

1. The postcard map isn't a perfect overhead map, it's a perspective "aerial" shot. If you look at the buildings, you can see that you can see two faces of them as well as the roof. Any superimpositions or matchups should take this into account (there are ways to measure & adjust for this, but I can't decide how much credit the ARG creators give us)

2. The map with the casket & weapon next to it is obviously distorted since we see lines of latitude and longitude and their respective distortions. Superimposing this over any map with a perpendicular grid is a giant mistake (as I've seen happening in this forum). I suggest that somebody who understands map projection provide their expertise on this.

Just some thoughts Smile

Blackstar cartoon

In the cheesy Blackstar cartoon there is a sword that is split in two that John Blackstar carries and the other half is held by the evil whatever his name is (a rip off of Skeletor from He-Man).

But the show wasn't "anime".

Interesting. Does the "forgotten weapon" look tied together halfway up to anybody else?

For anybody who wants to analyze the "throw him to the godseed fragments" part more, I've put it up on my website.

I can't tell what the troublemaker says after "I will not sit down" and before the narrator says "put that down".

Putting it through spectrograph software doesn't unveal anything unusual, so don't bother. Razz

Ummm. Fairly certain they are NOT lines of lat/long. Even accounting for serious distortion they will not line up correctly for that application.......

During live phone calls, doesn't Joey or Mike sometimes say "put that down" to someone else in the room?

I don't follow. Of course that's what they are. What do you mean that they don't line up? They cross at regular intervals, don't they? What do you think these lines are if not lat & long?

Yeah, I was the one who had that conversation. It sounded to me like someone had come in with a package or something, and he just wanted them to set it on the table and not open it. He was very adamant about them not opening it, because "it's not for you." It's apparent that I was meant to hear this though.

Tequilia / Vermouth

This is probably nothing, but i was fixating on the tequila / vermouth substitution mentioned earlier..

Taking the letters that were hidden in the name of the bar the young pros walk out of ("QUA TI ") and using the vermouth substitution gives us RMTVO..

Alphanumeric substitution gives the number:
18 13 20 22 15

Thats 10 digits, so i thought maybe its a phone number:
(181) 320 2215

181 is not a valid area code, but adding 3 to each digit (and modding by 10 to keep them as single digits) gives us a valid milwaukee phone number:
(xxx) xxx xxxx

I called it and got a verizon message saying that the wireless customer is not available at the moment and to try again later..

its a stretch..

yeah, for private information, avoid calling random numbers like that unless the phone number is directly referenced, or implied... actually, maybe even edit out the # so that spambots don't nab it if indeed it's a private phone number.
