The phone thing is great. These are real people that are talking to us from an "alternate reality". That's what makes it so unique and engaging to me. And the note left in the NYPL is even crazier. I don't know anything about any other ARGs or if this is par for the course when it comes to them, but it's got my attention.

I recall reading somewhere (either here or on SA) that Mike said the Family Trees are not to be eaten because they hadn't fully experimented on their psionic abilities... I can't remember exactly what was said, but I got the impression that the family trees may be buried in the ground as defense. Perhaps they help keep the Godseed underground or ward off fragments. Either way, it would be nice to clarify that.

Also, I agree with the teen/sacrifice angle. There are numerous parallels in history and mythology.

Quote:
- "Hello, I'm an ORIENTAL. What kind of good can I do for Milwaukee?"

Got off the phone with Mike. I told him I some some Oriental friends interesting in moving to Milwaukee, and asked if there was anything they could specifically do for Milwaukee, such as working with the restaurant industry. He said that Milwaukee enjoys its diversity (people of all shapes and sizes!), and has latinos, people formerly known as African-American, who now colloquially as blacks, and that Milwaukee has people of all breeds.

Quote:
- "What are some uses for a Family Tree? What would you do with one? Why do they need to be "UNDER"?"

I then asked about Family Trees. I said I'd been hearing a lot about them, and asked where I could get one. He got real staticky here, almost always during keywords. It got so crazy I almost wonder if OOG they have a "make static or otherwise distort voice" button on the phone.

Anyway, he said he's "not at liberty to discuss the stance on family trees", but that they should stay underground. (This is were it gets really hard to understand, so this is the best I could make out) If you and your family, or friends, or apartment-mates, want to "partition the ones you have, then more power to you." (?? that's what it sounded like)There's a lot of potential there, and they're being studied. They should be kept whole and stable, and should remain underground.

They seem to be using a lot of "formely known as" talk in the phone calls. Mike also mentioned his childhood hometown, which was formely known as New York.

It's interesting that he would specifically say "formely known as African-American." Could it be a former term because "American" or "America" isn't part of the current lexicon (i.e. America doesn't exist anymore, or at least isn't called America)?

This has to be going on. There have been so many mentions of people calling in and getting static at what seemed to be important times. I don't see it as an issue though, because it adds more to the mystery!

Thanks for asking about those!

This "Family Tree" thing is really suspect. Mike says they "need to stay underground", but Joey says "people do different things with him." Hmmm...

I haven't talked to anyone myself, but I am thinking the "static" is on purpose , since so many people have reported it. It seems to happen when they are saying key phrases, according to what I've been reading.

Also, the only black people I've seen in the original video are the "teen"sitting outside the "church", and perhaps that drawing at the beginning. Maybe there's something to that (maybe not, though).

*edit* I am going to post the remaining "ready questions" so they don't get lost in the shuffle:

Questions

- "Hi, I'm calling to report a missing cowboy hat and a toy made of foil, I last saw them at the Jagoda Art Museum near the Activity Center, have you seen them?"

- "Is there a police unit I can join, to help stop the threat of the fragments and help the people?"

- "I'm from Wichita, and there are some strange things happening that I don't quite understand, can you explain what's going on? Is moving to Milwaukee a safer option than staying here?"

- "Can I ask you something, why did Blackstar feel the need to biologically create a new God?"

- "I'm a TEEN. What are some fun things to do in "CHURCH"?"

And just for kicks (probably best to wait after you have an important question answered if you do this)

- "Did you know that Jesus Christ died for our sins?"
Just curious how they would react to something like that, given all the "god" and "church" talk.

You just reminded me: We don't know what's going on with other countries besides America right know. Are they still inhabitable? This might be important.

That really interests me too. Because I'm recognisably English by my voice, I'm thinking of calling Mike and probing for info about the UK / Europe. Is the "disaster" situation global?

That was a reason I suggested it... BUT, what if he says

"Don't lie! You can't be in England it was completely obliterated!"

Or...

"How are you supposed to get out here? You should know there's an indefinite no-fly policy!"

Oo-Er! Confused

ETA: Oh you did M.C!? Awesome!

What time is it in "Milwaukee" right now?

Not in agreement with the high bill, but definitely relocate Smile

6.51pm in Milwaukee right now. Smile

I thought about what he might say with regards to the UK / Europe - I was thinking that the best thing to do might be to say "I'm from England" and then if he says that it's not possible to be calling from the UK, I could say "oh sorry, you misunderstood me, I meant that I'm originally from England, of course I'm not there now!". And if he said there was no way to get to Milwaukee from the UK, I'd probably say that I was hoping Blackstar might be able to help me out with travel arrangements Smile

ETA: Anyone got that # again? Both for Joey and Russo? - Although pretty much 7pm their offices would prob' be closed.

That's great if they say that. It gives us a better idea about what's going on in this alternate "world" that TIMM is about. Remember, it's not about being "right or wrong", but how much info you can get out of them.

414-688-7035 for the Tourism Commission, where you'll probably get Joey,
and
414-668-8914 for Mike Russo's personal number.

Russo supposedly can be spoken to in the evenings/at night on his number so I don't think the time matters too much.

To call the US from the UK, you need to add 001 to the beginning of the phone number. Smile
