once again I feel the need to raise the importance of ,2, pairs and everything else that is happening in duplicate.......I cant see the pattern myself yet!!!! but I this the bit we are missing???

Right is it worth us compiling a list of passwords we've tried for the dashboard.rar?

I've tried 8 in every form of binary and hex and octal, as well as the upper and lower case versions of eight in binary (the word), most versions of unity, pair, two in different bases, I've tried half life 3 in different forms as well as the numerical values for it. I also tried different synonyms of unity such as oneness, circle, complete, joined etc. Any more?

Also anyone wonder what the red orange and green dots are above the lamp on G A project homepage? (top left)

ok tried the password on the dashboard here is what i got:

I also noticed there was a comment "The most preferable file;" don't know if this was part of the file or a part of the recovery software.

He probably just used a dictionary attack - kinda unintended ugly way to do it, but like he said, gets the job done.
