After being heavily involved in The Lost Ring earlier in the year, I found the combination of a solely fact-based wiki, the forums here, and an irc channel worked really well.

As a result of that experience, I've been helping a few others get http://mymilwaukee.wikibruce.com set up with all the info to date - which will take a bit longer to do yet (but by all accounts the next major movement in the game probably won't be til Monday).

Anyone can assist with editing it, you just have to sign up first. Smile

Oh, and there is info for the irc channel which is now active on the front page too! (which you can expect to be pretty quiet until there's a few of us regularly logging into it while online...)

I'm in total agreement with this.

Each resource has it's own purpose, and in different ways helps to keep the game organized and moving along. A wiki that strictly delivers known facts, a forum for collaborative discussion and puzzle solves, and a chat where people can really spout off about their wildest theories.

Otherwise everything quickly devolves into noisy chatter. Which with the (well deserved) enthusiasm this game has generated, could result in an indecipherable 100 page thread before we even receive our next update Neutral

Now that's a big assumption. So you're gauranteeing that it should be overlayed on a map of the US then?

"Completely off"? What is it a sketch of the entire globe? Wouldn't that line fit in perfectly to be the south-eastern-most horizon?

If all 5 lines are related they are not lat/long Smile

Hey, you might be right. I just wish I knew how you knew for absolutely sure. You are so certain[/b]

I'm a meteorologist (in the UK).

it doesn't work. I even printed it out and set to work on it (like we do with the models). No joy.

well i think Meepak has officially killed the map theory. Either its just for the video and there isn't anything special about it, or its something we will understand later on. I don't think it is going to help us with anything right now.

I'll start helping with the wiki on wikibruce too once the formerly known as thanksgiving day is over. Lets see if we can get all the information so far on there before the information packet we are supposed to get arrives...if it actually exists.

I've just kind of realised something that may have relevance to the whole"Destruction of US/World" scenario. Even in-game its assumed that the internet is still a large part of culture and readily available, especially with the press release thats been found saying that they want to create an internet identity for the city, or something to that effect. While it doesn't really lead to anything, and I could just be over analysing it, its possible that it hints that the situation isn't quite as post-apocalyptic as some are taking it for as it shows that the internet is as accessible in the alternate reality as it is OOG.

I just noticed this.

At 2:52 on the original video (the 'UNDER' part), there's writing on the wall behind Glasses Guy.

There are two numbers. One of them appears to be a 7, and is circled. There might be another number next to it, I can't tell.

Under it a bit, it appears to say '1988'.

I'm not sure the significance, but I thought I'd point it out.

It looks like a heart with an arrow through it, with something written in it and 1988 to the side. Mike & Marge? Laughing

Good find, by the way.

Chess
In the spirit of leaving no stone unturned

Just curious, could there be any significance to the chess game in the first video? Where he grabs the rook, moves it (diagonally?), and declares, "Checkmate!" (I thought the looks the two guys gave him were pretty funny).

I sort of doubt we were intended to see what piece it is or think overmuch about it, but it's been stated: nothing is done without reason.

Maybe Joey's chess game keeps getting interrupted by Mr. Nanny ("Put that down!") Laughing

As much as realistically I think he's talking to a Co'Worker regarding material or a box of some kind... I found that hillarious Laughing

This is OOG, of course, but I found it cumbersome to constantly go to forums.unfiction.com, and then redirect, and then find the right forum, and then the right sub-forum, and then the right thread, etc, etc...and I check here 5-6 times a day.

I used the bit.ly url shortening website (which allows custom urls) and made a TIMM one for this forum thread:

http://bit.ly/timmf

Much easier to remember. Hopefully this helps someone, if not just me. Wink

That probably will help some people; but I don't think people really mind being as probably a few of us (myself included) Are playing a few of these games @ once, so people come here and check them all. But for those who're soley concentrating on TIMM, that'd be a great help Smile

that allows me to all the activity going on in the forum...everywhere... except non-public areas Razz
very useful

Just wanted to let everyone know that after some work from momonga, thebruce, lehall and myself, we've now got a fairly comprehensive colleciton of all the phonecalls made to the Milwaukee Tourism Commission and Mike Russo on http://mymilwaukee.wikibruce.com - with links to the transcripts from the front page.

As this is where we've gained most of our info thus far, it'll be useful to have them all in one place - and we're migrating the details from them to the Glossary, etc. Still plenty to be done, so anyone is welcome to help out!

Cheers, and Happy Thanksgiving. Very Happy

Hey all, I've been lurking for a while and I just realized that the final ten episodes of Battlestar Galactica premier on January 16, 2009 - the day that the countdown ends. Could this be a connection? I know it's a stretch, but you never know. Figured I'd throw that out there...

I agree with this. I was going to post it as well. Here is the link to the new promo where it talks about how the parents have to die in order for the children to come into their own. Also, there is a "blackstar" in the story in the past, and it also shows a devasted world with a piece of wheat or grass at the end signifying a midwestern field and they pick up some dirt.

Seems like things will be quiet till Monday.

Was looking through the transcript again, and realized an inconsistency in the building rankings...

Quote:
"Young professionals demand the best. That's why Milwaukee's building new and completely fortified apartments. Central air. Hardwood floors. Great views. Class G certified."

...

And rule 3: if your party is being chased by Go.D.S.E.E.D. fragments, make your way to the nearest structure rated Class K or greater. Don't worry. All our schools are rated at least Class L.

Wait. So G is supposed to be good. When chased by Godseed, go to K or better. But don't worry, schools are L... They can't seem to make up their mind whether earlier or later in the alphabet represents higher quality protection.

Also...

Quote:
Man 2's voiceover: [banging noises] She wasn't in our area. She wasn't in our--I will not sit down.

Man 3's voiceover: Put that down!

Man 2: I am so sick-- [buzzing]

Someone: Throw him to the Go.D.S.E.E.D. fragments!

The only really prominent thing that someone has held up is a family tree. Remember there was a phone call where they talked about the psionic powers of the tree, and how they are still studying it's powers? What if the guy was holding up the Family Tree, and then started feeling sick? And the other guy was freaking out telling him to put it down.

Lastly, next time someone gets a hold of Mike, ask them about religion. Maybe something like "I'm Catholic, will I be able to practice my faith in Milwaukee." They mention "church" in the commercial, then talk about creating a new God in Godseed. Might be a promising lead.
