Yep, I'm here for now Smile...but yes, I, too am feeling like there is nothing to do until Monday.

I haven't called the #s and given the tourism group my e-mail address yet, but surely we'll all be sharing the info packets somehow...

maybe it's just me being cynical, but i don't think they will actually send out "info packets".

depends upon your definition of "packets" i suppose. since they have only been taking e-mail addresses i find it pretty safe to assume a .zip file could be sent with multiple .pdf files, video clips, word .docs, ppts, .xls workbooks, or any other of a plethora of file types or variations on clues. a .zip file costs virtually nothing to e-mail.

peace...

As someone enjoying a couple days off from work at the mo', I am glad that an experience that intrigues me is not going full-bore, so that I can also have a couple days off from intense gaming. Smile I am willing to wait a coupla days.

I thought they really only pushed it back the once: to Monday, after the U.S. holiday. I don't recall any other times it's been delayed, other than them saying they would send info during phone calls, but not exactly specifying when, so I guess people might assume that they were saying they would send them 'immediately'.

Other than that, I got nothin'. Smile

just looking back over the SA thread (which has seemingly died, btw) and noticed a find made by poster TremendousMajestic on Nov. 23. don't think this was ever discussed or noticed here. oddly enough, Terry Nanny also has a profile on linkedin.com:

http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dir/terry/nanny

and:

http://shrinkster.com/1347

Terry Nanny's current position is listed as DM Store Of The Future- Walmart (Canada). Google searches for Terry Nanny and DM Store Of The Future offer no other information except for this one linkedin profile. what the hell is DM Store Of The Future? why does Terry Nanny, a fictional character in a movie produced for the internet, have a linkedin profile? if Terry Nanny is a real person somewhere, why is there no other information available about him on the internet? if Terry Nanny wanted to remove himself from Google searches for privacy reasons (which is entirely doable), why is this one entry still visible?

this tends to lend a bit of credibility to the finding of Mr. Yachi Yachi, the CEO of the fictitious Blackstar Global Corp on linkedin.com previously, i would think. interesting that these two different and completely random and independant searches have lead back to linkedin.com. strange indeed. sadly, these "finds" if anything, raise more questions than they answer.

again, this may be nothing. it may be something. thoughts?

hi everyone. first ARG experience. this is very cool to be involved with. i live in Milwaukee and it was this local flavor that got me hooked once i found a link to the original video last week.

Newbie here too, used to live in Milwaukee, attended and graduated from UWM. My favorite word to describe the real OOG Milwaukee is "Retropolitan", as it's a major American city but still with a real olde-skoole vibe to it.

the whole bar scene really stands out to me somehow. [...] secondly, the margarita clip. vermouth in place of tequila in a margarita? yuck! what human would drink that? and what about the glasses? those are not glasses one would drink a margarita from. i wonder if the bartender is really adding salt to the drink? that is not how a margarita is made either. the rim of the margarita glass is made wet and dipped in coarse salt to create a coating around the rim. i've never seen table salt added directy to the drink itself. again, strange. "he doesn't know, does he?"

Also notice the strange, whirring hum that starts in the soundtrack around that point leading up to the M-rotor instruction frame -- something to do with the sound of an M-rotor perhaps? Same sound in the second video as Mr. Glasses approaches Mr. Basketball...

Which "he" (her date or the bartender?), and what doesn't he know? How to fix a Margarita? That an M-rotor has (perhaps) suddenly become audible?
Quote:
right after the bar scene they discuss the new Blackstar fortified apartments for young professionals. central air is mentioned coinciding with a shot of a very small window air-conditioner! wait what?

I noticed that too, but thought it was just a visual gag rather than a clue. At most, maybe reinforcing the sense that the in-game "producers" are a bit clueless about some aspects of human language and figures of speech?
Quote:
to me, the biggest question surrounds the true meaning of Go.D.S.E.E.D. obviously the story involves fennel and possibly arsenic (rebreathers), but i wonder if the acronym means something completely unrelated to this new "God". the first three letters of the acronym are indeed God, but there is no period after the first letter making the word "Go" followed by the rest of the acronym, not necessarily "God" at all.

Interesting. "Blackstar decided that we needed a new Go.D."? Maybe not "God"? What could Go.D. stand for?

Regarding "Cool Dog" and those goofy '80s-style (1984 again?) louvered sunglasses, note the cheezy star wipe when the dog is wearing them and the Macy's red star shopping bag by the sunglass stand, which would seem to reinforce that there's something significant about that segment. Now, the last time I remember seeing that style of sunglasses was in that Kanye West "Stronger" video that reenacted scenes from Akira:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZd1Js0QaOI&fmt=18

...I also found this vid excerpting one scene from Akira that was reenacted in West's video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cig0SjaAB8

Note the red 5-pt star on the helmets in that scene (which became silver 6-pt stars in West's version?). Speaking of all these 5-pt stars, might that reference the pentacles used in Wicca and some other pagan/magickal traditions, and thus to Hoopeston's Corellians?

At any rate, that's yet another link to Japan and Anime, and also to Hiphop and Black music in general -- cf. Black Star "Galactica", mentions of Jazz, the funk played in the Teens/sneeT segment, and the last few "taped-over" frames of the original TIMM video. Also reminds me of the recurring "Brother from another planet" theme in Black music (the jazz of Sun Ra, the funk of Parliament/Funkadelic).

also, what if milwaukee was destroyed, as mentioned, and instead of rebuilding on the wasteland, milwaukee was transplanted right in the middle of canada, russia, south america, somewhere...

Interesting, and goes along with the notion of a culture clumsily reconstructed from classic TV shows set in Milwaukee, like Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, etc. (perhaps original broadcast signals received in distant outer space?), and also explains this aspect of a "Milwaukee that is not Milwaukee".

There was also something about the "YT" tag on the second video linking to an apparent video game screencap (there's some things in there that looked like giant "Family Tree" bulbs, too!) of a spaceship from the Star Wars universe, a Corellian YT-1300 -- one of which gained fame as the "Millennium Falcon", which may correspond to the original TIMM closing-credits music lyrics mentioning, "Slow Jazz Millennium, Bubblegum Millennium"...?!

newbie

Hey, I'm a long time lurker, first time writer. Now this may not seem important, but I am 13 years old. I was wandering if, by some chance I get to talk to someone when I call tomorrow, how they would react when I told them I was 13. I also had another question, but I forgot it. Sorry!! I'll post it if I remember. Thanks

Huh. Another 5-pt Red Star on there. And that's not an "A" on the side but rather... more of a horseshoe maybe?

BTW, it seems clear now all that talk of the name Larose was just a pointer to the Rose Main Reading Room at NYPL, unless roses will continue to have further significance...

Cool Dog

I just wanted to point out that "Cool Dog" is really "Gamma Dog" dressed as Cool Dog.

In the credits: http://flickr.com/photos/thebruce0/3056120329/in/set-72157609933410609/

I think it might have some significance because of all the mentions Cool Dog receives in the video.

The only thing I could really see is that Gamma Dog is an anagram of magma god and cool dog is an anagram of loco god, but all this could mean nothing.

I don't think you're right about that, it's just the way the credits are formatted. The businesswomen are called Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. The formatting is just slightly confusing.

District Manager? DarkMart, maybe? Smile

Also, could this be a pointer that Canada has absorbed Milwaukee? Or Milwaukee has been relocated to Canada?

Here's a thought: They acknowledge that Terry Nanny was played by Jonathan Duquette in the credits (which is true.) They appear to be establishing Terry as a real in game character with the linkedin profile. That might be reason to think the rest of the credits are all legitimate. Is that reason enough to stop looking for significance in the credits? Not sure.

Anyone who's talked to Mike about moving to Milwaukee want to connect with Terry on Linked In?
