Intriguing.. but why would the TT flash designer put a FedEx tracking number into a barcode that flashes by momentarily, and then give no mention of it anywhere on the site?

Yeah, well done!
That's a much better first post than mine
They're probably waiting to send it soon to make the plot advance.

Uh... How would they know the tracking number before they sent the package? Am I missing something?

Good point, though they could know the tracking number before the package would show up in the system. However, it's been many days now - something should have shown on the tracking site already. Maybe we just found a weird coincidence...

Companies that do a lot of shipping tend to have paperwork for one or more shipping carriers around. I know that the FedEx Airbills have the tracking numbers pre-printed on them. It's entirely possible that this "package" already has it's shipping credentials attached to it, along with a unique tracking number.
By the way, hello everyone. This is my first post.

Actually, I think it may be a real barcode after all.
I agree it's not an American UPC code (wrong number of digits), but it looks very much like a European EAN-13 barcode.
You can read all the gory details of my theory here, on the Puzzles thread about this topic:

Hello all.
Pointed to this wonderfulness in the unforum chat.
New and hope to contribute!
As far as a number for something not shipped, the number goes into the sytem as soon as the information is put in. It does not have to be in route or even picked up at that time!

Everything that keeps me together is falling apart I hate to resurrect this post, but I noticed something today. During the TT opening movie, what could be an e-mail address crosses the screen. It reads:
e@X
The X is really kind of an x shape.
Is it possible that "e" is the mysterious ed?
I sent a message to eSPLAT tomorrowstalk.com as a test.

Not a bad idea, but remember, we determined earlier that sending mail to any name @tomorrowstalk.com will be accepted into some kind of general mailbox. So don't assume that it's a valid address just because it doesn't bounce...
