Secret Santa '08 Ho ho ho! That time of year is fast approaching, believe it or not! I plan to set up an exchange on Elfster.com again this year. If you would like to be included, please email, IM me, or catch me on IRC and let me know what name and email address you would like to use. I'll close the exchange and draw names on December 1 , so make sure that you sign up before then if you are interested.
This exchange has a spending recommendation of $25, although you may of course choose to do something like a puzzle trail that has no tangible monetary value, or you may choose to buy something that costs more.

Thanks for organizing this again this year, addlepated. It is such a good idea.

Those of you who gave me your information, let me know if you do not receive an invitation.
Also, very important: If you sign up for this gift exchange, do not stiff your recipient . This exchange works on the principle that everyone will give AS WELL AS receive. There is not more of a bummer than to take your time carefully making or buying something for somebody and getting absolutely nothing yourself. Please be prepared to follow through on your commitment to participate in this exchange .
I understand that sometimes things happen, but if you are running into difficulties and are unable to get something to your recipient in a timely manner or at all, contact me and let me know . The people on this board are so astoundingly civilized that sometimes nobody speaks up if they've been stiffed. It's disappointing to find out much later that someone was let down at holiday time.

Even though I'm going to be deployed to Iraq shortly after the holiday (so I've been too busy with training obligations along with jobs) I have signed up again! I've enjoyed the experience every year.

Hey kids! December 1 is just around the corner, so if you've been putting off your signup for this year's exchange, now would be an excellent time to get 'er done.
Hope you all have a most excellent Thanksgiving!

Elfster.com will automagically send you your recipient's name once the drawing is done. Tomorrow! So this is the time to do that last-minute signing up.

Names have been drawn, and now the fun begins!
Please let me know if you have any questions. If you run into delays or unforeseen problems, tell me as soon as possible and we'll work it out. Remember that your gift should reach its destination before the last chime strikes ringing in the new year.
If you're shipping internationally and would like your recipient to know, I'm happy to relay that message for you.
Have fun picking out presents!

Woo Hoo! Let the fun begin!
A question...how do the secret santas get revealed? Is there a big announcement here at the end? Or do you include a note with the gift? Or does it go to our graves a secret?

That's your choice! You're free to include your name or not with your gift; likewise you're free to mention publicly who your Santa was (if you know) or not.
