As of 2004, WalMart had a business model called "Store of the Future" for opening new stores... I don't know if it's still going on, but I'd assume so...

I'm assuming DM just stands for District Manager....

the whole bar scene really stands out to me somehow. [...] secondly, the margarita clip. vermouth in place of tequila in a margarita? yuck! what human would drink that? and what about the glasses? those are not glasses one would drink a margarita from. i wonder if the bartender is really adding salt to the drink? that is not how a margarita is made either. the rim of the margarita glass is made wet and dipped in coarse salt to create a coating around the rim. i've never seen table salt added directy to the drink itself. again, strange. "he doesn't know, does he?"

Also notice the strange, whirring hum that starts in the soundtrack around that point leading up to the M-rotor instruction frame -- something to do with the sound of an M-rotor perhaps? Same sound in the second video as Mr. Glasses approaches Mr. Basketball...

Which "he" (her date or the bartender?), and what doesn't he know? How to fix a Margarita? That an M-rotor has (perhaps) suddenly become audible?

You may be on to something here. Suppose that there are also robots living in Milwaukee now. Terry did say "and if you know where to look, have sex with something other than humans *wink*" Perhaps he's referring to robots. "He doesn't know, does he?" Meaning he doesn't know that she's a robot, but then there is the audible hum (possibly the sound of the m-rotor) he gets discouraged that she isn't real and they leave the bar separate.

Maybe
Maybe

I think this is a viral promotion for buzz of Sundance Paper Hearts, and 1/16 is during Sundance.

From the few lines regarding the film I doubt it is about Paper Hearts.

That is exactly what I am thinking, actually(I said as much a few pages back). I wonder if what is happening is a Stepford Wife type thing where they are creating robotic replacements for the inhabitants of "Milwaukee"? Probably not, but you never know. Wink

First time poster, WOO.

Anyone else here watch the anime "Big O?" All this talk about Mike not remembering his childhood, and the fact that no one else can either reminds me of this show.

In the anime, an event happened 40 years before the show started where everyone lost every part of their memories. They had to basically start their city over. Now, I'm not suggesting that there is a tie between Big O and TIMM, but maybe that's what happened here. Maybe something occured, making the Go.D.S.E.E.D., or something else, that caused everyone to lose their memories and have to start again. Do we know how long ago everything happened? Like, when the wastelands were made and they had to start rebuilding?

That would explain all of the awkward pronunciations and how it can seem that the society is based on TV of the past.

Also, at the end of the video, when the kid says "Thanks Terry, I thought I was toast," what does he mean? Does Terry save him by giving him his ball back?

Just some ramblings of a mad man...

Russo...

did say sometimes a joke is just a joke when referring to Terry's crack.

He was either trying to honestly steer us away from that because it's not relevant or he doesn't want to scare off potential visitors.

It seemed like it was more that he thought it was a joke.

Love it. I can't believe the connection never registered with me. It's got lifelike androids and lost memories. I agree with you that TIMM probably isn't related to the Big O, but the lost memories would make for an interesting alternative angle.

New York

Has anybody thought about asking someone on the phone why the scenes are clearly shot in New York? There's all this speculation about whether or not they intentionally used locations that are noticeably not in Milwaukee . . . might be a good way to find out if Milwaukee has indeed been relocated (not necessarily to NYC, but just to a location other than WI), or if this is just a circumstance of the creators being in New York and shooting locally.

Then again, when asked about having sex with non-Humans, Joey (I think) said there were options for "open-minded adults". So there is already a contradiction in the phone calls.

Hey abob6 - being on the other side of the globe myself, I've just emailed. I'm guessing that everyone who emailed will receive the Info Packets too - considering that one of the main functions of the calls is to collect email addresses... I guess we'll see for sure tomorrow.
