This seems pretty interesting. Can someone give me a quick rundown of the story so far? I usually read the whole thread but reading through thirty some pages is really a hassle. I'd really appreciate it.

This game is Part Two of a game that ended months ago. Basically, a company created a Holodeck-type technology that a few people are trapped in. The "players" thought they were in a Big Brother type reality show called "Lif3". The company's head chief is a evil SOB who wants no witnesses to the failure of the technology. We're trying to save them.

Any questions?

Thanks a lot. What was the first part?

Weirdness City. This ARG, Lif3, is the continuation of the events in that ARG. we didn't realize it until halfway into this ARG.

Thanks for the info, dposse.

@Ari, I'm pretty sure there won't be any drops here (FL). I didn't save my convo with Gail cause she didn't give me much of anything, but I did mention that I was in FL and willing to help. Her response a quick and short "We will only be there to meet with Leon. We won't be there long." Not exact wording, but the general point was that help in FL is apparently unneeded.

Hi, Sorry i haven't been around much. Been working like crazy.
Got an email from Gail.
Quote:
I've been trying to reach people for over a week now... Where has everyone gone?!?

First the InGame participants disappear and now you guys?! Have AM gotten to you already!?

Robbie's passed on a message from Broxbourne's files. It reads:

"THE KEY & THE ANSWER ARE BOTH WITHIN APACE MINDSET!"

-Gail.

Maybe key and the answer mean username and password?

ETA: Just checked out the website http://apacemindset.com/ there is now a red square on the page (i'm sure it wasn't there before). If you click on it, it takes you to a login page.

The square wasn't visible for me, but it's clickable and it's right at the top of the omega. Or you can just go to http://apacemindset.com/login.php .

Everyone get their anagram machine's cranking and look for usernames and passwords within "APACE MINDSET" Smile

Edit : Here's a list of 2 word anagrams for APACE MINDSET. It's also possible that all letters aren't used, but we could start with these as likely candidates.

vawood, i don't mean to be a jerk, but if you had stuck around for another hour on November 26th, you could've sent messages to Robbie about Apace Mindset and continued this ARG to its conclusion, not to mention helping to evolve the storyline/personalites. I couldn't do it 'cause i had no clue where to send the messages to.....

samspade, the red box is a small, small part of the symbol. Hit Ctrl A and you'll find it.

EDIT - I didn't understand your post at first... now I know Very Happy

If you view the page in firefox then the square is hard to find. In IE it is very easy to see, to the right of the image.

This is probably a diversion that won't ever lead to anything, but I was digging through the source of the Apace Mindset site and noticed there's some javascript linked in for a countdown timer. It's not active though, because it expects an element with an id like countdown1, countdown2, etc...

Has anyone seen a countdown on the site before? If not, one will probably show up later. The script that is there is based on this one, but it's been crudely modified to produce random results instead of returning the date. I can't imagine we'll be able to decode anything from the timer if it ever shows up. It's coded to ignore the date entirely and instead spits out 4 randomly generated numbers every second.

Just thought I'd pass that along since I spent a few minutes chasing it down. Smile

Lol, we should try it.

Well this feels like a push from the PMs saying, "Hey guys, you're all AWOL. We're thankful for the break to get some things together, but it's time to push you all back into action!"

Yep, that what I'm thinking. Now, I'd bet the id and password are right infront of us some where...

Anyone have a magnifying glass??

I'm sure someone posted this before, but,

APACE MINDSET = SPACE AND TIME

Edit: Ok, I got in with:-

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Username:- Space
Password:- Time

(case sensitive)

Now we reach a place called "Staff Directory" and are asked to provide a name. I've tried Mike, Mike Forester, Forester, Broxbourne, Gail, Gail Mahoney and a few others but no joy.

EDIT2:- Ok, I've got it.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The name I got in with was "Paul Masters"

Which leads us to a command prompt (typing "help" gives a list of available commands). There are a number of files here as follows:-

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
INFORMATION.TXT, which reads:-

THIS TERMINAL ALLOWS BASIC LEVEL ACCESS TO APACEMINDSET FILES AND
CONTROLS. ENVIRONMENTS ARE DIRECTLY CONTROLLABLE FROM HERE. EMERGENCY
USE ONLY, PLEASE CLEAR USE DIRECTLY WITH SUPERVISOR.

PASS.TXT, which reads:-

Fat He Ships
More Howl
Lacy Tats
Event In Norm
A Rat Mitten
Colt Dorm Inn

And PASS.TXT.save, which reads:-

PREPEND: As If Leaf

Fat He Ships
More Howl
Lacy Tats
Event In Norm
A Rat Mitten
Colt Dorm Inn

They look like anagrams to me.

EDIT3:- Ok, I think I've solved the anagrams (or at least some of them):-

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
As if Leaf = failsafe
Fat He Ships = phase shift (or phaseshift, all one word?)
More Howl = wormhole
Lacy Tats = catalyst
Event In Norm = environment
A Rat Mitten = antimatter
Colt Dorm Inn = mind control (or mindcontrol, if these are all one word answers)

EDIT4:- Oh CRAP!. Ok, these are commands, all prepended with "failsafe". I tested failsafe environment and received the message the this failsafe was now enabled. Only, I now can't run the command on any of the others. Mad Sorry folks, hope I haven't put our characters in any jeopardy! Bang Head I feel like such a dolt now.

Well, for the sake of completeness of information- it looks as though the wormhole failsafe was already active and now, thanks to my over-eager testing, the environment one is active too, but no others are active as far as I can tell from testing the other commands.

*goes to stand in the corner, hanging his head in shame*

Mind control is used as one word, so I figure phase shift is the same way.

I tried the mind control command.... should be interesting to see what happens.
