[Info] REPORTING IN your co-ordinate data With 220 locations we have a potential of totally overwhelming
Dorkmaster with unorganized and even useless pieces of information
to sift through.
I suggest that we establish a reporting format to help keep things trim.
Start off with a summary of what took place:
I was standing right on top of my GPS point when...
...and right when my digital watch clicked over a payphone
half a block away starting ringing.
...right then a woman transformed into a robot and started dancing.
This would help those of us with later time slots be better prepared.
After the summary, give the time that this event was listed as happening
and any info/clues that you recieved.
For instance, if while I was at my location the payphone next to me rang
and a voice said "...then along came maggie" I would report that:
(10:41)-...then along came maggie
Listing the time and info gathered separate from your summary will
make it much easier for Dorkmaster than a jubbled report listed with
long/lat co-ordinates. He's already put out a ton of effort. Let's keep
his load light.
Unless/Until Dorkmaster opens a separate post on this topic could we
please sticky this Mods? Thank you.

Y'know that's a great idea. In addition to the basic report style info we give in text, I think any pictures and audio gathered at the points should also be posted for everyone's benefit.
Everyone who's going to a coordinate on Tuesday should take LOTS of notes. Record as much as you can, and report in as soon as you can after each point. The people who go to the first point should create a report thread, and only the reports should go there. We can use other threads to spec on any new info we gain from the axons and let the reports stand on their own.

Great idea! Just make sure to give the time and most basic info
separately.

while we're at it, wouldn't it make sense for us as a community to create a protocol for what to do at the site (like a list of things to do there for scouting work, guidelines for what to expect, what to record, etc.), just to be more efficient in the case that M does contact us somehow?
This way we aren't walking into contact with a future entity cold. It might help us avoid hearing about what someone else did at a site and later thinking, "Shoot! I should have done that too!"

Excellent. Mods, how about we have an official recon thread for the 24th, where everyone can report back on what they found?

Where the heck did the whole "dancing robots" thing come from?

As someone realitively new to this, I concur completely. While I personally believe we'll be hearing a recording if it is a phone call, I'd like to be prepared if we are lucky enough to talk with Melissa (or some other character). A little primer of usefull questions might be handy.
It might belong on it's own thread, come to think of it.

I'm sure we'll all be here Tuesday morning, locking threads and pointing people to the correct one, just like the cat herders that we are.

I'd give pretty good odds for a real person on the other end if it is a phone call. Why else stagger them at four minute intervals?

I am of the theory of a prerecorded message, and of it being 2 different messages, 1 is 3 minutes, 1 is 4 minutes. Notice how the times are either 3 or 4 minutes apart all around.

since this is all spec to begin with....
to debate both sides...
if it's mearly a couple of recordings...why not a simitaneous launch?
if it's a live "person" - this is a 12 hour stretch here with basically NO breaks. What if she has to go potty?
Obviously the aliens are comming, and it's go time!!!
Why yes, I am a bit sleep depraived, why do you ask?

Reason for it staggered as my own spec, it can run from a SINGLE phone line, calling sequentially. To call all 220 locations at the same time would require that many dialers and phone lines. A single is much easier to work with, less expensive

Although SPEC on what might be taking place is always an
appreciated and fun debate, the topic of what might be taking place
at these times is already taking place in multiple threads.
Please do not derail this train and help come up with ideas on how or
what should be reported and/or things that we should be prepared for.

You can thank "Andy" for starting the Dancing Robots craze. (He thought it was funny. We all agreed. It stuck like gum to hair. )
Anyway, I think, IMHO, that trying to have a "format" for how we should answer any call, or approach a site, is beyond our capabilities and would just limit our interactions. I think being ourselves is what the PMs have hoped for, and that our being there should suffice. Let's hope that whatever we do as far as recording info is enough, and that our coordination skills are good enough.
vpisteve, other distinguished mods/admins: I do not envy you for tomorrow's expected need for the corralling of stupidity, editing of overzealotry, and redirection of redundancy. And I apologize in advance for my own anticipated contributions to all three categories (I'm certain.)... But we'd be lost without you. So drive safe to Kingman, vpisteve, and the rest!!!
