Maybe it is " I Carl Sagan " In a first person statement.
Could be. Maybe this is a Carl-Sagan-Back-From-the-Grave ARG. Cool. Welcome to UF Dirt Diver. Love your tv show the Unit. Your TV wife is a tramp.
Haha, apparently she is, and thank you for the welcome. Its good to be here.

What does Carl Sagan have in common with those coordinates, (if anything?)

I-I guys, think we might be onto something here...
(Sorry, bit of "British" Humour lol).
Okay so we've got "Somewhere, something incredibi le is waiting to be known"
Which happens to be a quote of Carl Sai gan?
Maybe we have I-Trigger happy PMs?

I don't think they could be celestial coordinates (declination is measured in degrees, but right ascension is measured in time increments), unless some further conversion is possible.

Well there's tons of info on him, on Wiki. I'm gonna do slight reading now if anyone would like to accompany me? lol.

I searched some things with the names of the places the coords match too. Nothing really except Thirsk is a Canadian astronaut.

Sagan was like the awesomest guy ever and wrote "The Demon-Haunted World" which I highly recommend. And of course he was a famous astronomer and all that. I get the feeling that the PMs are directing us.. outward.
I joked when jaybill first sent me the link that this is probably just a viral for The Day The Earth Stood Still. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Found this in the source. Just seemed weird to me.

Also, it seems that *86 is gonna have a news feed sooner or later...

(or maybe it's common to WP)

Interesting stuff Natas.
So now the question is... What do we do w/ these co-ords? As Bruce said they seem a bit too ominous to validate dead-drops or meeting points, maybe we're supposed to find a connection between them?

Sorry about the pic people!
Anyway, if we draw a line connecting the points, and then project that into the sky would it match up to any constellations?

yeah the feed is common to wordpress.
I'm assuming these are pages, not entries, which is why the feed is empty. nothing to feed.
the head profile info does seem out of place though (xhtml friends network). but the link is informational/oog

it is indeed a code. But it's a Datamatrix, not a qrcode.
Wait: How did you decode the datamatrix? Do those tiny squares spell out a URL or is there software that decodes those things?
Excellent work, btw. I had given up on it being anything significant and I thought it was just supposed to be pixelation, maybe to indicate that there was a last number that had to be determined. Waaaay off.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm in the camp that thinks "ALAS ARCING" is "CARL SAGAN" with an extra "I". There being an extra "I" in the quote from the previous puzzle which just HAPPENS TO BE A CARL SAGAN QUOTE cannot be an accident.
Also, I'm sure you guys here this all the time, but holy crap you people are smart. I stared at the image with TheParthenon for at least an hour last night before going to sleep. The progress you've all made between then and now is...staggering.
Slightly O/T: I think the real ARG here is this forum . An internet forum where people are...smart...and civil...even to n00bs? We're like six pages into this thread and no one has said anything about my mom yet!
