I tried the mind control command.... should be interesting to see what happens.
You managed to run a command? Hmm, I wonder if it's tied to IP address rather than to the Paul Masters account then. I'm positive I tried "failsafe mindcontrol" and just got told that I'd already activated a failsafe and wasn't getting to activate any more. And now that you've activated mind control, I can see, from trying "failsafe mindcontrol" again that it's now enabled. Do we maybe need more people to activate that remaining failsafes?

Awesome work Merago. I ran failsafe catalyst and then tried to run subsequent commands. Here's the output:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
[apace_mindset]$ failsafe catalyst
[apace_mindset]$ FAILSAFE ENABLED.
[apace_mindset]$ failsafe environment
[apace_mindset]$ ALL FAILSAFES ENABLED. SHUTTING DOWN IN 5 SECONDS.
[apace_mindset]$ failsafe environment
[apace_mindset]$ STATUS: SHUT DOWN.
Now I've done it Anyone else able to run commands still?
Edit:
Looks like I ended the game. I kind of feel like a jerk, even though that was the goal. PM is on IRC for anyone that wants to chat. See Tallerbird's posts below for details. IRC room is #Lif3 on mibbit.com

No. Every input generates "STATUS: SHUT DOWN". Ooh, this is getting exciting!

New email from Gail.
Quote:
I am unable to tell WHO did it but good job guys! Some of you were able to shut down Project Lif3 and along with it Apace Mindset's main components!
Valentine and Forester are by now, no doubt aware of this as they're holed up somewhere in one of their offices out of state. They'll be back soon enough and more than likely sending thugs right as we speak!
Riley and myself are taking the participants to authorities along with all the documentation... Once again, thank you very much.
- Gail Mahoney, FORMER Employee of Apace Mindset.
Not sure who did it, but good work.

Woohoo!
I think it was a collective effort to get it shutdown. It looks as though each IP address could only enable one failsafe. Samspade, looks like your failsafe was the final blow.

The man behind the curtain was...our very own, Leyton Stone! Yup, the creator of the ChyroPharm ARG was the PM of this one. Cool, huh?
Take a bow, Mr. Leyton Stone!

@Merago and samspade, yes, it was tied to the IP. I was originally too lazy and didn't think to do that, but Leyton reminded me and I did. So glad that I ended up doing that.
I congratulate Leyton on a job very, very well done and a superbly crafted story. I also congratulate all of the players on making this such a great game, <3 you uF.
Funny story: I helped Leyton with the first part (Weirdness City) and left about halfway through - then started playing the continuation without even realizing I was playing a game I helped create. Weird things happen.

someone in IRC: see, sometimes instead of a man and woman loving each other, men and men love each other. this usually happens in prison, but sometimes in real life

Hahaha yeah I did explain that in the Post ARG Chat, Red... Shame you couldn't have been around for that bro.
I'd like to say thanks to everyone for playing along... I apologise if some of the parts of the ARG didn't seem to fit and as I told dposse in chat, I've taken a lot of 'concerns' and qualms into consideration for the next time an ARG of mine takes place!
I do hope you guys enjoyed playing and if you honestly have any other questions/comments/concerns/queries/qualms or whatever, don't hesitate to PM me okay?
And Red? Thanks man! Without your knowledge of sites and the like, I'd not have been able to do a lot of the site stuff (Ending mainly but still the ARG NEEDS an ending, no? lol) So thank you!
And thank you all again
