i like others am also extreeeemly dissapointed at this new game.
then again remember this is a childrens game. anyone under 14 probably loves the idea.

i was looking at the "secret Lucian" files. My branch. and i noticed that in the stolen Alistair Oh pictures you can see a lisence plate. being a fan of lost, and remembering to notice EVERYTHING, even if it involves math lol, i took a look at it. 6 AU 45 was the plate. subtract 6 from 45 and you get 39. Au is the chemical symbol, or whatever its called, for Gold.
another one of the clues is Gold is what I got from this.

I dont believe this has already been talked about since I have been lurking for a while now, and have read all of the posts.

btw please be considerate of others. Even me, and I was just reading was getting annoyed at some people who dont read all the posts and ask very stupid questions. PLEASE READ THE RULES.
thats all Very Happy

Skeet Shoot

I mentioned this before, and am waiting for a reply. When I play "Skeet Shoot," I sometimes hit a skeet but don't get any points. Can someone contact the 39 clues people about this.

New Clue!!!

Quote:
Hi Henry,

you must purchase card packs in hopes of finding card #60 in one of them. Or you can try E-Bay.

But isn't there only one card pack to buy? In that one I didn't get card #60.

Yes, but each card pack has random cards in it. You may not get 60 in the first pack you buy.

I looked up the periodic chart for Number 69. It's Yrrtium. A rare earth metal. An interesting read on wikipedia and it's used in LED lights and extended exposure causes lung disease in Humans. I am sure THAT is NOT what we are looking for Laughing

Today was the first day that I noticed this problem. Usually when I miss, it is obviously a miss. Sad I must be getting better. You can just send an email to helpATthe39clues.com (replace "AT" with the correct symbol) and describe the problem. I recommend that your subject line read something like "Error in Skeet Shoot Game Scoring". Hopefully that will get it sent to the technical help desk.

You should get an initial "robot" email that says
Quote:
I am sorry that I cannot answer your question immediately, but I have forwarded it to a member of our team who will be able to help.
Then you may get one of a series of generic answers like:
Quote:
The 39 Clues help team is available to help with technical problems and general game assistance, but unfortunately cannot provide hints or answers to problems. We suggest you ask friends, parents, or teachers for help.

Good Luck! And report back what they tell you!

Theory on the Clues

Not necessarily... I was explaining to someone at work today what 39 Clues was all about and he asked what are the clues. (I checked this evening and was surprised that I was able to I list them off the top of my head.) He said it looked like a list of ingredients for a chemical reaction. As I was explaining how I thought it might have something to do with alchemy and turning stuff into gold, I had another thought. Since the fifth clue is tungsten, it made me think about light bulbs which I equated to electricity. Iron and copper are good conductors of electricity. I think that Uranium is used in nuclear power plants. And phosphorus glows, which is sort of like light. So far all the clues are related to light and/or electricity. Then you mentioned that Yrrtium is used in LED lights. I guess it is really much of a theory yet, but I am now leaning away from an alchemy connection and more towards a power source for light. Aren't the clues supposed to lead us to the source of the Cahill power? So, maybe it is real power like electrical, nuclear, solar, wind power, as opposed to political power or whatever.

I am not sure that I see your connection between what thebeliever posted and element number 69. The only thing I can think is this: the sum of 4+5 is 9. Put the 6 in front and it is 69. Is that what you were thinking?

Very Happy Thanks for the fifth clue Alice. I didn't have it yet Razz

It's great theorizing, but 5 of 39 is not enough to have a handle on the game yet. If it is some kind of PowerLike you think, maybe book 10 will have a "save the earth" theme to it.

Theorizing and questions about the new cards

I'll admit that, but I just wanted to post it in case I am on to something Very Happy . I do reserve the right to adjust my theory at any time. You have to admit that hunting for alternative power sources is a better theme for kids than turning stuff into gold.

And, I know I write long posts... but you didn't answer my question about the 69th element. Crying or Very sad

I entered cards 17-22 from my book #2 and was reading through the extra stuff on the web for each card and I have a few comments/questions.
#17 (e-mail code). I sent emails to infoSPLATsnakeheadproductions.com and afloresSPLATlucianinvestmentco.com. The one to Alana immediately bounced. The other should have bounced as well, since snakeheadproductions.com was not a valid URL.
#18 (Amy Cahill) For a smart girl, Amy sure did spell badly at 8.
#19 (Monument Valley). The webpage says that there is a connection between the Tomas and the American West. I can't say that I followed that. Did anyone pick up the connection? And any ideas for what is on the back of the card? The smoke from the fire sort of looks like a cave painting.
#20 (Racco Mansion). Maybe it's because I have not read the book yet, but I don't understand what Wolf Ram has to do with Tungsten. I probably won't be able to read the book for awhile. I guess I can wait, but if someone who has read the book could just say if it makes sense. When I first saw the card, I thought, "A new branch of the family!"
#21 (Lan Nguyen). Someone should look up those books and see if they are real. Do you suppose that Core Wizard is Jonah's mother?
#22 (Rocketboard) I got nothing.

I have been dying to tell someone about my latest score on decoder. It pushed me up to #2! I totally can't do any of the other games, but I kick butt on decoder. Cool

ok, Thulium. An unstable nuclear energy source? Hmm. I wonder.
Still no Books in HK, but the audio books should be here sometime next week. Next book I pre-order from Amazon Evil or Very Mad

I did a domain search, and lucianinvestmentco.com is available for registration. snakeheadproductions.com is not. It may have been registered by scholastic, but isn't up and running yet. It wouldn't be the first red heringwe've seen.

Good work on the decoder. Are you doing hte easy game or the ultra-hard one?

I'll be honest, the thing has disappointed me so that I quit playing it. It was fun for a while, but I'd rather have something to sink my teeth into.

The post man just rang my door bell. Guess what it was? Laughing
Card 17 Kara Brown and hte secret bus is not a movie. But if you look at the cards white letters you get: KARABRAS BUSY IN EUROPE GO MONITOR JANUS IN INDIA.
card 19 Monument valley is in the Utah, but I'm waiting to let my daughter enter the codes so I don't know what the webpage says.
card 21 None of the book titles are real. But they all center around Dehli in India.

Rocketboard shows up in a secret archive. Wink
