Hi Mars,

Thanks so much for the reply. I can understand the whole trouble-meeting-new-people situation. I'm not much into the nightlife thing either. What about coworkers? That's usually a good way to meet new people, right? May I ask where you're from originally? Since I'm planning to move, I'd love to hear what your experience was like and what you think of Milwaukee so far.

hi again jon,

i'm a freelancer, so i don't work for blackstar or for the city, but everyone gets assigned an email when they move here. i've got one friend so far (she works at BS), and she's great, but i'm trying to force myself to make more friends; i'm normally pretty anti-social, so i promised myself that i'd meet lots of people when i moved.

Not much info, unfortunately. :/ I wish I knew what magic questions to ask. Any suggestions?

Ask her where she came from, and what the trip was like?

Ask her if she's had any problems with the GS fragments?

She seemed to avoid my question as to where she's from and about the trip. I just sent her a new e-mail asking about the trip and Go.D.S.E.E.D. fragments, though. Also asked about what kind of freelance work she does. I'll post my e-mail and her reply as soon as it comes in.

hi DarkProject,

not sure where you got my name from, probably because it was in the header (mistakenly i'm pretty sure) of the big email about whatever that packet was. anyway, sorry to say but i can't answer many of your questions -- i just moved here. (the email address was assigned, i dont work for the
m.t.c.)

however, its nice to hear that you're thinking about moving to mil, i really like it here so far. don't be afraid of what the booklet makes it sound like, it's pretty tranquil (at least at the moment). i'm having some trouble making new friends in town, but besides that, i can't really complain.

if you ever make it here, look me up.

mm

A quick reply! Surprised

Mars,

Freelancing sounds pretty exciting. May I ask what you do specifically? If freelancing brings in the Dark Dollars, then I may have to look into doing that if I make it up there. It's a lot easier to meet new people through a friend, so I'm sure you don't have to worry about expanding your social circle. Have you settled in yet at your new place? I watched the video from thisismymilwaukee.com and it sounds like the Canning District is a nice area.

So did you make the trip to Milwaukee all by yourself? I've heard that traveling alone can be dangerous. Did the Go.D.S.E.E.D fragments give you any trouble?

-Jon

Mars:
jon,

i do this and that, mostly mechanical stuff. the dd system here is a little
different than i'm used to, so i've been learning what i can in my spare
time. (you pick up some stuff from daily transactions of course.) like i
said earlier, hardly have any friends yet, but at least that means that i'm
not constantly wasting money on going out. heh.

i hate to cut this short, but as to your other questions, i'd rather not
talk about myself too much -- i'm shy around people who aren't close
friends. (you seem nice, though.)

mm

ps canning district is overrated in my opinion but its got a few good
korean places....it's all about center square in midtown but don't worry
about that too much now, you don't even live here yet, there are more
important things going on in your life at the moment i'm sure

Interesting stuff, eh? That very last sentence sounds as though she might be alluding to our current conundrum with RH Informational Booklet. I find it interesting that she always mentions her lack of friends. It also seems like we won't be able to get much info about her trip or possibly even her past.

She replied:

DarkProject,

"assigned" is totally not the right word, people are free to come and go. i guess if youre working at BS they kind of like to keep their employees in line and living near their headquarters/whatever, but nobody is making anyone live anywhere as far as i've seen. i'm renting a place around the middle of the city at the moment, but that's just temporary. (i'm actually thinking about swallowing my general dislike of the "nightlife" thing this city seems to thrive on and moving to the c. district myself just so i can make some friends.)

and its only natural to be worried about godseed, i was kind of hesitant even to move here because of it, but really, its dead and buried. not worth concerning yourself over too much, is how i look at it.

Hmm. Dead and buried? Relate that to the "seasons change" comment Terry made in the original video, and I have a feeling the "shit's gonna hit the fan", if I may, soon.

Anyone think that's what the count-down is to? Nothing in real life, but something happening in-game like Go.D.S.E.E.D rising? Just a thought.

ChuckDideEate:

Saw Anna Tate over a lunch meeting at Brizzi's today about JMC outreach to the public schools. Had potato soup, which was decent.

Interesting how Mars continues to mention that she is new to the area and is having trouble meeting people. Does something happen to people after they have been living in Milwaukee for a period of time? Also, her reference to disliking the "nightlife" thing makes me wonder about what exactly Milwaukee nightlife entails.[/i]

It seems like she's at least alluding to something that may happen. I believe that the timer is for an in-game event as opposed to IRL. They may announce or it will become clear what everything is about. That would make sense if it is marketing, which is especially likely due to the obviously large budget.

That's what I'm thinking, DarkProject. It seems more likely than an IRL event, considering the things we know happening on the 16th don't seem to be related to the game.

edited for bad formatting...

Hi Mars! My name is Ian and I just moved into Milwaukee! I heard about you from a few friends who haven't moved here yet that have been in contact with you. I'm looking to make some new friends and I figured I'd just send you an email to introduce myself! I moved into a nice 1 bedroom in midtown and I'm just trying to get settled in. Let me know if you'd like to chat sometime, I'm very interested to learn more about your experience with this city so far! Thanks for your time,

-Ian

i actually live in milwaukee so we'll see what happens with this...
