Tomas stated that he told all he knew to the police. If this is the case, why is The Detective saying the family is not cooperating? Unless Tomas is somehow connected to the gangs (a theory I don't currently subscribe to) that makes little sense, unless The Detective is stretching the truth (or outright lying) about their unwillingness to cooperate in order to manipulate us into getting him close to the family.. another long shot, sure, but none of the dots in this story seem to be connecting.

It may be interesting to find out if the Lopez' had any connections, business or personal, with the victims. What more do the police need from them if they've already talked?
