Yeah, the thread for that one did get a bit long. You can always go check out www.manofthepeople.net and browse through everything there.

I am greatly looking forward to finding out what is new in the village today. I wonder what we'll all have to do next?

I'm looking through it, but I think I'm just getting more confused now. I hope my reporter girl doesn't suffer because I'm not up to date.

Edit : Got my email for the day

Does anyone even recognize the cipher I've been given?

Sorry Uber... No clue!

And just got a response:
Quote:
Right on time, you pick up the whip and examine it. It is old and frayed and looks like it would be very painful to stand on the business end. Hesor, who has jumped up to sit on your shoulder, eyes the whip suspiciously and then looks at you.
There is something written on the handle of the whip. You turn it round and round, trying to understand the message:
Pja Xrjbz ib njr ixfj gxrt sbn xpqr trre. Trqrz rqrz njr fi ib vntfjx xfh.

Can't figure out the code yet though... I've tried ROT and backwards... I've tried Caeser Brute Force... Can't work it out haha

Leyton, here is your transcription (Its a cryptogram, by the way):

Quote:
Ask Hesor to use this when you have need. Never ever use it to punish him

You hear the Governor, no whipping the horse to be mean.

Uberg, I have no idea what your cipher is, but I will try to work on it. I think this means I should have an email waiting for me.

Thanks Ifi! I replied:

I understand I need to ask Hesor to use the whip when needed but never to punish him with it. I look to Hesor now for advice (before taking todays turn).

Got it. Its a dial pad code. The number is the button and the dash is the position.

So here is my email for the day:

Quote:
You pick up the stained mirror and look into it. There, you see a person in strong, shining armor. You look closer. Are your eyes glowing? There appears to be a pulsation… your eyes glow once and then stop, then glow again. Sometimes it's short, and sometimes it's long. You watch and make note of the rhythm:
Short glow, long glow, short glow, short glow.
Short glow, long glow.
Short glow, short glow, short glow.
Short glow.
Short glow, long glow, short glow.
You put the mirror in your pocket.

So my glowing-morse-code-eye message was "Laser".

Call me crazy, but does this mean I have lazer beam eyes? If so that is a direct reference to some of my artwork from the MOTP game, and that is hilariously awesome! Interestingly enough, "Laser" is also an anagram for "Earls" which can be found in my memorial flyer for The Earl of Earls.

Question is, do I attempt to find out if I have laser eyes for this turn or do I move on to search another item in the room? Thoughts before I respond to The Governor?

Way to go Uberg. That is one heck of a puzzle. I'm going to have to remember that one.

At first ifi I thought it was morse code; the short glow being . and long glow being _ but it didn't quite work.

My turn:
Quote:
You hold up the whip for Hesor to see, and you ask him what it is.
He sniffs it and frowns. "This was my whip, back when my master was still alive. Once, long ago, I was a workhorse for a cruel man who would beat me daily with that thing. Then a wonderful man came, and he took the whip while the evil man was sleeping. He gave it to me and said he would be my master. I found that the whip, when used properly, had magical powers. Only I can wield the whip for good. If you try to use it yourself, only bad can come of it. This may be a useful tool to bring along… if you can be trusted."

I replied (considering this is my actual Friday turn now)
Quote:
I nod and smile at Hesor, understanding. I then head for the door and turn the handle.

You leave the magic staff and close the dresser drawer.
Next, you walk over to the sink and open the cabinet. It smells of nice wood, and you see a design carved into the inside of the door. You look closer. It is a picture of a graveyard with two tombstones, one on the left and one on the right. Above each tombstone, hanging in the air, are three life beads.
You look at the cabinet shelves. There are a life bead and a journal. You may take only one item per turn.

maybe we all must collect the lfe beads and take them to the graveyard?
the picture shows that, if I understand that right...
But I'm taking the journal for now

I don't like how I've been sold on a turn Sad

I missed Thursday's but only got one turn yesterday (My Hesor action doesn't cost me a turn).

You pick up the journal and open it, hoping to some information about the village. Inside, every page is blank. How frustrating! You are about to toss the journal back into the cabinet and hope this doesn't count as your turn, when a hollow voice speaks from the journal itself.
"When I begin to hum, just open me up, and I will sing."
You put the journal in your pocket with the polar bear.
REMINDER: Transition Village will accept turns for Saturday but will not answer until the following Monday.

yay, I have a singing journal now Very Happy

@Leyton
I find it kinda hard to check if my turn counts for one day or another because of time difference.. p.p

The life beads look set to be in your house alone - you've got one, found the second by the journal, so it makes sense for the third to be close-by. It looks to be your task to head over to the grave-yard soon...

Eh I don't want to confuse the Gov' anymore than I probably am haha!

Quote:
(I note that this is my missed turn for Friday and also that turns made Saturday aren't responded to until Monday decide to refrain from confusing myself or The Governor any further and take only one huge turn and start again Monday afresh!)

Turn: I take the whip and Hesor and head outside of the house into Transition Village and head towards the church.
