[INFO]The coordinates they are a-changing!

Well one of them has, since I looked at the site at about 4pm EDT on Thursday. I guess I should apologise right now in case this is trout, but I've not managed to see this mentioned anywhere else - it's probably been overlooked in the excitement of the Friday update. Anyway, here's the info:

The point for the time 13:17 PDT has changed from 38.544817 -121.741205 to 38.543151 -121.743038. I had a look on mapquest (the links go to the relevant mapquest pages), and this corresponds to a change of about 2 blocks west, and 1 block south. This coordinate by the way is in Davis, CA.

I thought I'd start a new topic for this because I figured it would be important that people realised this coord had changed, not least because it'll hopefully encourage people to periodically check the coordinates, to make sure there haven't been any other changes, but also because if anyone's going to that location, they kinda need to know this info!! If a moderator disagrees with me, feel free to move this comment wherever it would be best placed. Who am I to argue with your superior forum knowledge? Worshippy

Further to the whole payphone theory, can anyone living near there confirm or deny whether either the old or the new locations have payphones? I'd be interested to know.

Malrog - your friendly neighbourhood coordinate watcher

PS. I've updated the table on the Wiki with this info.
PPS. Can anyone write a script or something that can continually watch the GPS coordinates table on ILB so that if any changes are made it'll automatically be noticed, to prevent the possibility that some changes might be missed?

Edit: Added the PS and the PPS.

Maybe we oughta make this the Coordinate Changing thread, so we can post here whenever a set of coordinates changes, and say which city it's in to alert anyone else visiting that set of coordinates.

It's known by most of the participants but the Austin, TX location has also changed. It pointed to Maine and Clearway and now points to a spot inside the capitol.

[META]
I'm going to post this here since it's as good a place as any.

I think the PMs are making this up as they go. I don't think the original plan was to coordinate a mass phoning to pay phones, but the beekepers (players) have guided it in that direction. Now, the PMs are changing the coordinates to cooincide with payphone locations.

Thinking about the in-game situation, what good is a "new voice" if it only works once? After the 08/24 phone call, then what? new coordinates and times every time a communication is desired?

Just some thoughts.

Voice chatting programs? There's a few of those out there that could possibly be used for later communication. Can't think of any off the top of my head, but I think AIM might have one? Possibly MSN? Who knows. But, then there's the generic chatting program, which could be used, too. Or maybe leave messages on the site, like changeling.wav? There's many other ways to get in touch aside from payphones.

Right, but the premise is that "Axons Go Hot" refers to a new body, and a new voice. If it's a new voice, why use the old one?

I guess this is the right thread for this, but I can't help noticing that despite the updates to the coordinaties the 11:00 'glitch' (2min change then 4min) is still there...

either they haven't noticed (unlikely, they are probably reading this) don't want to change it (because it is ment to be there) or don't care (because it's not important).

I guess this post doesn't really give any new info, but what does these days...

Edit: That was pretty meta btw: but eqivilent for Mellissa, she either hasn't noticed the 'mistake', doesn't want to correct it, or the 'mistake' is irrelivent to her
