They do have some options. They might want to call a lawyer for counsel. I feel sure an attorney would contact the FBI immediately as assasination of an elected official, the Mayor, likely would be under federal jurisdiction. They would be the ones to put the family in protective custody. If they would rather leave town, they could ask gran to buy the tickets and just go get on a plane. I'm also suspicious of the police force and like the above options better than contacting the police. I'd guess the driving around the neighborhood is an intimidation tactic more than a desire to be helpful.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. We're being put into a very tough spot of trying to choose who to trust after being given multiple conflicting stories.

I think more investigation re: Miles and Davis would be the logical next step. Who were they working for? Why did they commit the murders? What do they know that would warrant one of them being murdered? Who murdered him?

So many questions..
