Dharma Special Access!

I've got the email now:

The links:

http://dharmaspecialaccess.com

UPDATE. Sorry for my paranoid secrecy, of course is the password for everybody the same:
lafleur

UPDATE2. Check out the countdown on the dsa-webpage.

UPDATE3. Oh crisis...

I don't see any countdown.

Well, I for one can't really fault them for the way they've handled the collapse of the game, pulling the curtain back like this and saying 'yeah, shit got messed up and we're sorry' themselves is pretty decent of them.

Was kinda hoping for slightly more substantial content though... Guess there's a few weeks to go.

I still don't exactly understand the reason the game ended. Wouldn't this whole thing have been paid for up front? Or money put aside for it from the beginning? How does the financial crisis cause this game to die?

The money....it's all gone!

Man, that's a shame. I reached "proofreader" status and then was canned...at least we can look forward to another season of lost!

So, the countdown is probably...to the "exclusive" content?

The content is there now and comes up by itself after you enter the password. The site didn't work for me when using Firefox but worked fine with IE.

Anyway, I do agree with sowasred. If things imploded for whatever reason (I still don't buy "the financial crisis," I'm still thinking more "Hoodlum failed so horribly that ABC nixed it due to lack of time to pull off something else), at least the producers (Darlton) do care enough to give us something else, and particularly their brand of apology. There were 150,000 of us! Insane!

Still, this gives the guys an opportunity to do what they do best: tell us a whole bunch of awesome nothing! That's what I love about Damon in particular, he can go on about the "what is going to happen" and "did you notice this particular detail IT IS VERY IMPORTANT," but at the end of the day, you don't come away with any new information, just a bunch of perplexing questions.

I would like it, however, if they reveal to us some of the plans and info that was scrapped for the game, since they seem involved in the mythos.

There's gotta be more!

I've said it before, but there's gotta be more to this. I go to the ABC "Dharma special Access" site and get a "check back next week" message? Can it really be over so easily?

A couple of things bother me.
- As TheBruce already pointed out, the Hans e-mail had a message in the code to check out the ABC site.
- Who runs off to Dubai to sell cars? Seriously? No way.
- Why should anyone check back in a week if it's over?

Anyway, I'm hopeful.

New email has new footage from the season opener, as well as some season 4 DVD preview goodies, and a short interview with Charlotte.

quick note about the passwords

Last week's password le fleur translates to 'the flower' (from French).
This week's password Qilak means 'sky' or 'heavens' in many of the Macro-Eskimo languages.

This is not the end my friend!

I agree with Candiluu. The way that the curtain was yanked away does not fly - financial crisis or not!

Don't they realize how p**sed off all 150 000 fans are gonna be?

We've spent hours filling out their time consuming questionnaires and if there is no end game or challenges up ahead, I'll be mad as hell!

Howz about we start a petition to get the game back on track?

We're all so invested in this now, we just can't let it go so easily!

If you haven't yet watched this, watch this message from Damon and Carlton:
Damon and Carlton Speak about the end of the ARG
I think they are very sincere and very honest -- the game is over, but they want to make it up to the fans.

Is it just me or does Rebecca Mader laugh exactly the same way every single time? It's as if she is one of those pull-string toys with a pre-recorded laugh.

"Yes, I speak Korean, it's a gift, what can I say...Eugh-hoo-hoo-ha-ha
Who knew...Eugh-hoo-hoo-ha-ha...I read the script and I was like, oh no...Eugh-hoo-hoo-ha-ha"

Well, I guess that's what happens when you're born on a electro-magnetic island that refuses to be stationary in time and space. Must be a side-effect.

*Searches for someone else to vent post-ARG frustrations on*

week 3 password

adella courey is this week's password

Using both as first names I was able to come up with the follow meanings and origins.

Adella - Noble, Of the nobility; as to the origin, I've found conflicting etymologies. It is credited to both Germanic and Spanish origins.

Courey - A more difficult one to find a direct meaning and origin. Using Corey as the base it typically is thought to have the meaning of God's Spear; from both the Germanic and English. Though in the Gaelic it has a different meaning, Dweller in or near a hollow also spear.
