Hi gang! I've been rocking my usual winter illness spell so I didn't get a chance to post my email yesterday. So here is what I received on Monday:

Quote:
You open the cabinet near the sink. It contains a box of sugar and a life bead.

A ghost appears at your back. You spin around to see the spirit of a young boy holding a cup. He hands you a note. The note reads:

46 6f 72 67 69 76 65 20 6d 79 20 73 6f 6e 27 73 20 73 69 6c 65 6e 63 65 2c 20 66 6f 72 20 68 65 20 69 73 20 6d 75 74 65 2e 20 57 65 20 61 72 65 20 69 6e 20 6e 65 65 64 20 6f 66 20 73 75 67 61 72 2c 20 62 75 74 20 68 61 76 65 20 72 75 6e 20 6f 75 74 2e 20 43 6f 75 6c 64 20 79 6f 75 20 73 70 61 72 65 20 61 20 63 75 70 3f

You look at the boy for an explanation but he only looks back, as if waiting for your reply.

Running that code through a HEX decoder gave me this:

Quote:
Forgive my son's silence, for he is mute. We are in need of sugar, but have run out. Could you spare a cup?

So naturally I decided to give the ghost a cup of sugar. I will let you all know how that pans out when I get my email today. I only have a few more things to search in my room before I head out into the village.

I've been lazy. Here's what's happening with me.

Quote:
ME: I would like to take the potion

Quote:
You pick up the potion vile and look over its bottle. It is tall, slender, and glows from the purple potion within. The sides are smooth and it fits comfortably in your hand. As you inspect its bottle, you find a word etched carefully into the bottom.

It reads: APPRAISED

You place the vile into your pocket.

Because you are behind one turn, you may have an extra turn today.

Quote:
ME:I would like to inspect the nightstand.

Quote:
The nightstand is very clean. Its only drawer contains an unopened syringe, a blank notepad, and an empty prescription bottle.

Quote:
ME:I would like to examine the empty prescription bottle.

Hopefully that will tell me her proper name and perhaps a bit more about her.

I'll be taking the notepad next since it sounds like the same thing the ghost was holding. Maybe if I can find a pencil I can do the rubbing trick to see what was last written on it.

Probably, but since I already screwed up once, I thought it good to be 100% sure this time. Besides, if the bottle might tell us how she died or something else interesting about her.

Here's my reply to inspecting the dresser...

Quote:
Leaving the life bead in the cabinet, you walk over to the wooden dresser. You open it up and smell dust and decay. The dresser is rotting. Inside, you find a heavy ring of keys and a black box that is locked.

Seems I forgot to take my bread! Oh well, I'll go back for it after I have some fun with this box and ring o keys!

Okay my turn:
Quote:
You turn to the potted plants, which have long-since withered into blacked leaves and thorny stems, and you pick up the pot on the left.
Underneath are an empty picture frame and a life bead.

Quote:
I examine the empty picture frame.

And lol

Alright

Alright my turn:

Quote:
You open the wooden dresser, and the smell of old hay comes at you. Many bits of straw are lying there. Also inside the old dresser, you find a life bead.

and my reply:

Quote:
I take the life bead and walk over to the cabinet by the sink to inspect it further.

Nothing exciting :\

Here is my tuesday action, another good deed done it would seem:

Quote:
The ghost of the young boy smiles as he watches you turn to grab the sugar and pour him a cup. You are clearly doing him a great favor. When his cup is full, he closes his eyes, tilts his head back, and disappears before your eyes.

You see a small shovel on the ground where he stood. It is a child's toy with a plastic blue handle.

The box of sugar in your hand is now completely empty.

I have decided to take the toy shovel before going back into the cabinet for the life bead. So provided nothing comes of me picking up the toy shovel, it should be a pretty mellow day in the village for me tomorrow.

Quote:
You walk back to the wall with the religious pictures and examine them. They are not of any religion you recall. One depicts a funeral scene, with many people gathering around to mourn the dead. The sun is not shining, and the day looks bleak. The other picture depicts one man standing over a grave with the sun shining on him. He appears to have climbed out from the dirt.

I lay my hand on my pocket, just for getting sure the life bead is still inside. "Well, I think I need to be careful with that", comes to my mind.
Afterwards I look trough the room. When I arrived, I noticed some pictures with religious scenes. Now I want to investigate them, maybe I can see something of relevance, I'm a lil bit into arts..

coming back to life from death? o.o *iiiiik*
well, I'm unsure, what to do next, any thoughts?

Todays move:
Quote:
You walk to the cabinet near the sink. Before you reach it, though, a ghost appears before you. You can tell that he is wearing dusty blue jeans and boots. His shirt is very dirty, and he has the look of a man who works very hard.
"I'm sorry, but I can't just let you into my cabinet. The Governor made it very clear to me that unless he gave the word, it was to remain closed. You'll have to take it up with him. Maybe if you flattered him a little, he might be inclined to let you in."
You may send a message to the Governor for your next turn or choose to explore elsewhere.

Any ideas of what I should send to the Governor? Maybe I'll just tell him that I'm only here to help him with his village and anything of interest in the cupboard would be helpful in making his great town even better? teehee

Uh oh...

My turn for today:

Quote:
I would like to take the heavy ring of keys and the black box from the wooden dresser.

My reply:

Quote:
You pick up the ring of keys, which make a great deal of noise as they bang against the sides of the dresser and the black box. You shuffle through them, looking for one that might stand out or unlock the black box.
You count 3 keys, but all of them look the same. They are old and made from heavy, rusted metal.
You try to lift the black box, but find that it is stuck to the wood of the dresser. You try to force it up, but it won't budge. It has a keyhole on its left side.
You hear a voice behind you, but turn around a find no one there.
"The Governor wants to know why someone disturbs the black box. It is very precious to him, and he has sent me to defend it, if necessary. He demands that you show him why you need it, so that he may decide if you are worthy and can be trusted with its contents."

How the crap do I prove I'm worthy of the black box without more instructions than that?!?

Anyone, ideas, anyone???

You need to be "Creative"

Oooh my turn! Ifi it doesn't look like you've made it back to the cabinet >.>

Quote:
The empty frame is dirty, and has bits of wet mud sticking to its edges. Its time under the potted plant has left its wooden sides soggy and weak. You find that unless you are careful, you will break it.

Suddenly a piece of paper appears within the frame. Words appear on the paper, and they say:

"What you write here will be seen in my old picture frame. Use it well."

A cloud of fog develops in the grass behind you. It remains for only a few seconds, and when it is gone you see another traveler standing in the grass where it had been. He is holding a child's toy shovel.

I've replied:
Quote:
I pocket the picture frame and paper carefully so as not to break it and approach the traveler with the childs toy shovel.
