Red

Also, and I'm usually on top of this, so I'm gonna say it's not been posted...feel free to murder me if it has...

Someone mentioned that Leroux means "the red". Red's popped up a lot so far. In the chinese character at the end of the 1st movie, Lipps "Le Roux" (french for red), Mars Madison (Mars is the red planet), Mike Russo (russo is derived from the Italian "rosso" for red), Larose Burton (also french, but for pink instead).
I wonder if it's just a naming scheme, or if there's something to it...
bah, who knows? Smile

Hmm first time I posted this it disappeared...

Anyway, I think you're right and the colors are meaningful. In my first post I pointed out the repetition of red and blue. I suspect that red is associated with Blackstar operatives and blue is associated with the rebels but I'm just guess at the moment.

I noticed this, too, and did a bunch of tracking things down on my own; I got most of the things you noticed, except for the chinese character. Good catch!

Then I started thinking about the color green, because of the emerald coffin, primarily. A friend of mine pointed out to me that the ruby Terry gives to the treasure hunter is an emerald-cut ruby; I don't think this is a coincidence. There are red and green things in the video besides the ruby; there's a green marker, for example.

Red is opposite green on the color wheel, of course, and the Go.D.S.E.E.D. seems to be glowing red; the coffin, which contains it, is green. The family trees are also green. So, maybe the family trees are protection against Go.D.S.E.E.D. fragments? Or the Go.D.S.E.E.D. itself?

Perhaps this is a way of coding the video. I did notice that Chuck is drinking a VERY red beverage at FeBrizzio's. Perhaps this is linked to the Go.D.S.E.E.D. somehow? Perhaps Chuck is linked to the Go.D.S.E.E.D?

And if it is a code, some of the frames in the closing credits seem as if they could be color-coded as well. The Nightlife frame, with the Chinese character for "red" and the sport bar is a study in red tones. Perhaps we are supposed to make something of either the lyric "Do you want this nightlife" or the fake-lyric "Champion Dynasty" or both. I'm thinking the nightlife, because of the color reference, might be linked to the Go.D.S.E.E.D. and thus might be bad. This seem supported by Mars Madison's correspondence to the effect that she's not too sure about the whole "nightlife" thing.

Finally, while searching around for links to things mentioned in the M:ARH booklet, I found this link to a 1928 $2 bill called a Tate Mellon. It's actually called a "Red" Tate-Mellon, because it has a bright red seal on it... a red-sealed greenback. http://www.collectorscorner.com/Products/Item.aspx?id=2463568

Another interesting thing about the Tate-Mellon bill is that it was printed in New York....

I'm not sure where to go after this, though....

Either way it is worth pointing out that the number pointed out by krystyn is different than the one pointed out by Atropanocturna:

I was googling Thisismymilwaukee, (and by now you'd think I would have it bookmarked) and this is what came up:

This is My Milwaukee
infoSPLATthisismymilwaukee.com 414-688-7035 PO Box 511602, Milwaukee, WI 53203. Synydyne BlackStar Nim Projects. 0. 5. 0. 1. 5. 0. 1. 6.
thisismymilwaukee.com/ - 5k - Cached - Similar pages

The numbers:
0. 5. 0. 1. 5. 0. 1. 6.
0. 5. 0. 1. 2. 0. 3.

I have no idea what this means, but it seems interesting.

They already realised that a while back, either in this post or in one on SA - it's something to do with Google's search, not TIMM.

That's a rather ridiculous explanation. Google doesn't usually add random numbers to its searches. Clearly timm.com is intentionally displaying different information to a google bot. And what we are overlooking may be an important code.

When I did a Google search just now, I got "0. 5. 0. 1. 2. 0. 3." as the string.

I am tempted to start a new thread just to discuss that element. I guess I just wonder, though: is the website returning a new number every X units of time, or is it based on where the bot is coming from (do the bots have different referrer identities when they cache web data, for example?).

Would we need to collect all instances of these number strings, then?

Has anyone else seen similar numbers in searches for other websites?

It's a Google search thing. It's been mentioned a few times, but yeah, it's not game related...

hmm......

I googled "0. 5. 0. 1. 2. 0. 3." and came to this page, discussing various mathematics and theories regarding the fibonacci sequence...

0 5 0 1 2 0 3 appears there in a rather deep formula in the sequence (search for that string to get to the ref). It's in the section "In which column is number n in the Wythoff Array?"

Additionally, the following numbers are 0 1 6

so we had
0. 5. 0. 1. 2. 0. 3. and
0. 5. 0. 1. 2. 0. 1. 6.

it's no longer 016. Could it have been a typo/mistake that was corrected, and now visible with the latest cache? Someone forgot the "03" in the sequence?
hmm...

ETA: also, 0501203 appears at position 111,285 in Pi. 05012016 at posn 5,584,073. (just cuz)

I know it has been mentioned, but I want to know *why* it's Google search related. I mean, I don't see this string coming up for other websites. Have you seen it?

That's what I'm askin'. Smile

if the numbers are related to the fibonacci sequence...well, then it's possible that it's part of the ARG. What it could mean, i have no clue.

You make a good point, and no, I don't know why the numbers appear. Maybe they are in game...

Is there an in-game email that is attached to this account?

(Also, is there a way to find out when this account was created?)

Otherwise, I'd say: OOG until it updates with compelling evidence to the contrary, or it's a tiny gamejack. Smile

for the sake of being positive that it's a gamejack...is it another number puzzle, like that youtube account (the one that sent us to the NYPL)? does "20138" mean anything? if not, then, yeah, it's a gamejack

This is probably OOG.

I've been periodically using the People Search thing on twitter and facebook to look for new TIMM-related accounts. I just ran it through again, and it doesn't appear that twitter/20138 is related to @thisismymilwaukee.com or any of the other addresses uncovered last week when the packet was leaked.
