May the Cool Dog Watch Over You

Sorry, Pendragon - will edit that. And transcribe Clocks' call. omg so much typing, my heart is all aflutter :3

Just got off the phone with Mike myself - HOLY DAMN IT WAS AWESOME, SO MUCH INFO - couldn't get a transcription of MY call due to me having a terrible memory - but I took notes and here's the basic stuff I got.

...

He then went on to tell me that after the dinosaur era came the Era of Pro Wrestling - I had serious difficulties not laughing here. Apparently numerous bards, including Shakespeare, tell of an Ultra Warrior (who we've heard referenced) before. He was ultimately betrayed by a folding chair to the back/head (forget which), which Mike says was "a very common weapon during that era". (I am stifling my laughter.) He then went on to segue into the concept of hubris. Right then my phone connection cut out.

I called back right away, apologized for my phone, and said, "I'm in Chicago - you know how it is here." He freaked out and said, "You're ALIVE in CHICAGO? Oh my GOD. I can't - I can't even imagine how irradiated your body must be - " and then something about my skeleton. Shiiit. I cover for it, tell him I'm passing through on my way to safety, and he tells me in a sort of panicked voice, "Well, hurry through, and may Cool Dog watch over you."

...

This transcript cracked me up. ALL these phone calls, recordings, and unlocking that code has really bumped up the action on here. It's really made my day, and the information everyone is gathering is sooo exciting!

All the 80's references made me wonder if THIS is the Cool Dog they are referring to:

Also interesting to note from the other conversation above that Tomato Juice is a RED drink. It kind of goes with the color theme being discussed on the other threads.

Summary and a bit of speculation:

M-rotors - constant source of power (nuclear fission or fusion, maybe?)
Family trees: bursts of cthonic energy (?)

Perhaps M-rotors are nuclear fission reactors. In the event of a criticality, and the need to reseat an M-rotor (perhaps they aren't too good at nuclear engineering in the future Razz), all affiliated personnel would be rendered radioactive and would become sick with radiation poisoning.

Looking up more stuff now.

Fission is more likely, probably due to the fact that we have no working fusion reactors now, and this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_nuclear_fission_reactor

Then again, the m-rotor could be some kind of rotating Tokamak. Razz

(Inertial confinement fusion? Gah, I need a piece of paper so that I can stop dumping all my thoughts onto the Internet. Razz)

Regarding radiation, it occured to me that we may also be talking about solar radiation since we talk so much about magnetism. They mentioned nature withering around us in the initial video. If that's the case perhaps something happened to the ozone layer and an excessive amount of solar radiation is getting through. Or as Terry Nanny said in the video 'There's always something cooking in Milwaukee!' lol

Well shoot, you beat me to it! lol But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is the cool dog they are referring to. Their sense of history...it's as if children deduced it from 80's reruns. Which I guess, since they lost all their childhood memories makes them sort of like children starting over.

I can't listen to that audio on my phone so I hope I don't overlap knowledge here. But I just talked to mike about the creep and he was really talkative for me.

First,he's not sure if it's because of the godseed or how they are relted, but they do fight but we knew that.

I asked what it was and he danced around it and I could tell he had trouble finding the words. He ended up saying it was a large amount of cthonic(sp?) energy. He said it's hard to explain without seeing it but you don't want to see it. Apprently a power level 20 or above can take it down. He said jagoda, terry nanny or the mayors league could do it.also voltaire

Then he told me about the first instance, where they sent out "worker" and he was able to kill it. But he said there are not many worker class people walking around.

We finished on the numbers of creep. He wants to believe it's a series of intelligences into one,but he is "probably wrong".

He said deluth has problem too,but not the creep. Mike said he had seen pictures, maybe we will too.

It was a fun talk, and mike was super cool about everything

Aww this was me. Sorry for the horrible spelling and grammar. I suck at typing on my phone. I'm suprised we talked for so long, Mike basically talked for 5 minutes about the Creep at me.

Something doesn't Gell....

I have to say, something about our friend Mike bugs me... Throughout all of this, we see that this game seems to have a pretty good budget, several workers, etc. In the video, for example, we see several actors of varying ages. Now, here is my issue. Why does Mike sound like an 18-19 year old who is trying to sound in his mid-thirties? Its just really off-putting. I mean, I've tried to ignore it, but the fact that he seems so out of place is odd, to me. Just something I'd thought I'd put out there.

 Working on Mike

Hey all, I just had an Idea. I mentioned in a different thread that math wasn't my strong suit, and so I was going to focus on the more people-oriented riddles. Someone earlier in this thread said something about Mike possibly being "resistance" or something of the sort. And that's what sparked of my little plan.

Sometime tomorrow, I'm going to call up Mike. I will pretend to be a representative of a Government/society set up in San Fransisco. We discovered the Milwaukee information, and I was assigned to set up rapport with this newly discovered city-state. At which point I will try to discover if Mike is on a safe line or not, and if he is, I will say something along the lines of "My bosses have a team of guys working on this info you guys put out, and the general consensus is that this corp. doesn't really have the interest of the public at heart". I will then proceed from there, seeing where things take us.

What do you think, good or bad idea?

He's said before that his home phone line is 'safe' and untapped, to his knowledge - but last night I asked something about "our cause" and he paused for a moment and said, very formally, that he was still loyal to the MTC etc. So his home phone might now be bugged too. (Still worth a try though!)

(p.s. if you came to the conclusion about an 18-year-old putting us on, and have been listening to those calls, he's the one with the deep voice, and the caller is the young-sounding one.)

AND, Milwaukee is a beer town! As the Patron Saint of Beer, has their historical disconnection elevated Spuds to Chief Diety?

Note that they never say the cool dog. It's always a proper noun: Cool Dog.

Note that Cool Dog is shown at the beginning and end of the movie, and is displayed on the back of the book. At then end of the movie, during the credits, Cool Dog is shown in stained glass. To me, it seems almost like they worship him. "May Cool Dog watch over you" just hammers it home.

Not to repeatedly state the obvious, but Dog backwards is God. I can't help but feel that Cool Dog will play a very large part in the future of this...

I haven't seen this brought up anywhere else: the video makes a big deal about "Nightlife" but the big nightlife scene occurs completely in broad daylight- as if night or darkness (except inside the R NO building) does not exist. I don't know if that is important or just an example of cultural cluelessness. But if there is too much solar radiation, all the plant life died, most of the US is a desert, it may be important.
Does night no longer exist in the TIMM world?

There were some speculations early on as to Resident Evil-esque attributes to the video... Now, I know the films aren't much to go on, but the last one showed the world as pretty damned desert-ed. Possible we're looking at another RE flick?

RE is definitely not this silly. They take themselves seriously.

Just throwing possibilities out - seems to me is all that we're making a lot of conjectures about the puzzles but not really thinking about how it might fit into IRL in terms of wtf is going on.
