the site was registered in 1998...to someone in HUNTINGTON BH, CA as per: http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/rayoflight.net i did the whois to try and figure out if the country of registration would help to figure out what the language is...i THINK it's chinese...but more a gut feeling than anything else... but i did find a cool site for this:

The reverse audio started at Sorry x4. (Well, after it had been reversed, anyways..)

In the background of the audio file, you can hear a whimper or moan on the third and fourth "Sorry". May have been OOG, but it was pretty noticeable, even without amplification.

edit - 4x repetition seems to be a recurring theme. Possibly a hint? Still haven't figured out the original code, btw.. Anyone? acesdbmamrmkgt

I've been puzzling over it since I checked my mail this morning. In the context of the message, the code is likely a company or group of people

I wonder if the first three characters in that case, are "the" as in "The Bad Dude Brigade bothered my mother yesterday". Granted, it's a bit of a shot in the dark as assumptions go but it's where I've started. The fact that there are 14 characters in the coded section suggests it's more than one word. I don't doubt that there are companies and/or organisations out there who have one 14-letter word for their name, but I'd imagine the percentage is quite small. However, we've so little to go on with the code that it's difficult to work out what form of encryption has been used, so knowing that it ~might~ start with "the" is probably of little help.

In summary, I haven't a clue Smile I'll soldier on regardless though.

 		I can't really figure out what "acesdbmamrmkgt" is, but I tried the assumption that the first three letters translated to "the". Unfortunately that doesn't really give you anything else to work with.


EDIT- Also, has anyone found anything on that picture mentioned in the spam forums?

The site has a phone # (03-6809-0997) and fax # (03-6809-0998). If anyone has international calling available and can check the number, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hi Burrito, the characters are Chinese but this is used in Japan as a company letter head as well (basically means Ltd & / or Co as you already stated). As far as the number is concerned, its based in Tokyo. I called it out of boredom & the result was ring, ring, ring...No machine/voicemail nada.
