You can encode messages within spam emails using Spammimic. See their site: http://www.spammimic.com/

It was heavily used in another ARG, although exactly which one escapes me for now.

I wasn't around for Chasing the Wish but I understand that a lot of CtW correspondence was encoded with SpamMimic.

For the sake of completeness, here is the full header of this email. (Sorry I didn't realize that I might be one of the only ones seeing this, so I wasn't that concerned about capturing every bit of info.) Non-pertinent details referring to my own mail/IP are XXXd.

I know all i'm making are guesses, but i'm kinda interested in why some myths got pictures and others didn't. Also, i have a feeling that there's something going on with the tv picture in the dh myth part. I don't know why, but it just seems like there is so much they could do with it.

I'm wondering . . . maybe what's important is in the logo: what letters are the lights going through, and then in what order could a new word be formed?

oops, mine was in the spam filtered folder. Mine's dated Jul 24th and was a response to one of the urban myths I submitted on the site through the form there.

Embarassed Ugh, I can't put into words how embarassed I am. I saw that everyone else received the spam-like message recently. So I went to double check and I was wrong. I didn't received it on July 24th. Embarassed There were a few messages from Urban Hunt in the Gmail spam box and I marked them as "not spam" and moved them before I read them all. Then they got all "organized" automatically into threads by Gmail and I got confused. I'm sorry for any attention I took away from the puzzle.

I beg you all for mercy Worshippy To make up for it, I offer to myself as the first human sacrifice to the mole people.

No problem, just make sure to wear one of those wireless cams when the mole people take you down, so we can look for clues before your demise. Think of it as your last great gift to the ARG community... Smile

Oh no... I looked in my Gmail spam box, and - wow, at least a dozen messages from JC.

I mean, they're cryptic... he's using random names, it seems, and disguising his messages as Cialis ads and work-from-home offers... but I'm sure they must be in-game... no one really trying to sell something would make so many significant typos, right?

Now if I can only find the pattern... maybe I should send in for some Cialis? Maybe there'll be a clue in the package? Hmm...

Yeah...But now my main question is why does JC want me to have a larger...err...member, and what kind of secrets do the photos he took at his "naughty dorm slumber party" hold?
