All of us in the EILE IRC have just thrown ALL of our votes to Stephanie. That's 38 plus whatever you guys send it.
The more votes Stephanie gets, the harder it will be for the prize to go to anyone else.

STEVE POSTED A CODEWORD.
that's solid proof, alot solider then Ben's possibly suspicious phrasing...we were told one of the other contestants lied some of the time...
Re Steve's nbr: 254,698.23 = "bedfihbc" which when run thru Cryptogram Helper gives an immediate result: AMERICAN
It's very very very highly improbable that's a coincidence....
Besides the fact that it translates to a code, $750,000+$254,698.23=$1,004,698.23 - not a far shot from the highest value Don Talon gave as a reward amount.
maybe there is no prize? Since the Detective has told us this is a money laundering gang I believe there is no Benefactor or clean money for the deserving, innocent candidates just dirty money that needs a provenance to deposit in a reputable bank.
Will vote about 1/2 hour before closing and check this thread again anyway for any new findings. ITRW I'd prolly want to boil these monsters for manipulating deserving families in this way. Has anyone contacted TINAGPD?

Sorry I wasn't available last night after posting that I think the plant is Steve (friend had emergency). Great work on the clue solve amandel. I also sent in all my votes for Stephanie.
Another nice group effort -- yay EILE team!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ETA: So the amount given to Steve was $842,698, which converts to
hdbfih which converts in the Cryptogram solver to EUROPE, which is probably where the funds were going to be stowed if not intercepted by law enforcement.
