Welcome to uF and the game!

Considering none of us seem to be getting anywhere with the code or finding any other information, it certainly couldn't hurt to have one more person emailing Janice in the hope of figuring _something_ out.

Good luck, and have fun!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

There are 4 Janice Ha's on facebook. One from Washington, one in New York, one in the network "Cast Western '10", which I think is a university in Ohio. None of these fit, as I assume Janice is located in California if she works at the Bohemian Grove. But there was one with nothing at all, just the name. No friends, no picture, just the name, Janice Ha. There's no-one on facebook or myspace with the e-mail adress 'thedifficulty@gmail.com', but i've sent a message to the pictureless Janice asking if she's got anything to do with the Bohemian Grove.

Probably grasping at straws, but it's better than me trying to figure out the code! I assume this is how the whole ARG thing is done, right?

I didn't get the email, but Vecheeso did and told me. My post about it was in the Spam trailheads post, but I'll requote it:

Do you know of any way to communicate that will keep me from a watchful eye? I am fearful of my messages trailing off into the expanse of the internet... with everything I know, I can not allow that. But everyone who was helping before, they are dead. They are dead.

A picture was sent to me along with this correspondence. The second message from me should be disregarded, at the time Vecheeso thought it was possible it was a friend, so I added that just in case it wasn't an ARG.

(By the way, I tried destegging with the number sequence the thing is named by. I should try with that random letter string.)

steg without a password and with a password(the pass being the file's name). I'll try destegging with that letter string.

Once again, 4. 4 red lights, repeating everything 4 times...

I tried destegging the above image using camouflage and password
acesdbmamrmkg, but no luck. Perhaps the decoded version of
acesdbmamrmkg will be the desteg pass.

It seems like the last people who tried to help her ended up dead in an incident related to Zalgo and Bohemian Grove, and that she's looking for a secure means of communication with us. Can anyone provide her with that?

Just an observation - both "acesdbmamrmkgt" and "1229050454864" have 13 characters. Not sure how that might be relevant yet.

Unfortunately not. There are 14 letters and only 13 numbers.

*facepalm* Embarassed

Now I really have to figure it out to redeem myself...

ETA - at the very least I can say that the image is NOT stegged with Camouflage.

I tried opening the 4 red lights image in notepad to look for anything, and I found this. It looked out of place, but as i'm new here, i'm not sure if it actually is anything or if this kind of thing may occur randomly within an image file.

"56789:CDEFGHIJSTUVWXYZcdefghijstuvwxyz"

abklmnopqr is missing from both bits. I'm not sure if the 56789 is relevant. See if you can make anything of this. I've tried just chucking abklmnopqr into camouflage for this image, but no luck.

I tried rotating each letter by the amount indicated by the number sequence and no luck

This may be going nowhere, but can someone more familiar with audio confirm a suspicion of mine?

In the reversed speech, the four "sorry"s seem like they are exactly the same, like it was copied and pasted. Maybe the speaker is not using software to mask their voice, but is actually a machine?

There are variances in the audio levels in the mp3, and there is audible background noise on two of the Sorrys.

I highly doubt it was computer generated.

Keep in mind, I'm far from knowledgeable on the subject.

Listening on headphones I can now hear the background noise (at first I thought it was the product of our often over-active imaginations as I couldn't hear it). So yeah, they are different. Bummer, that was my only real bit of input.

I just wanted to point out that the background noise on the reversed bits aren't unique though. After putting on the headphones, I can hear an "echo" (for the lack of a better term) in the straight-forward sections as well, in every thing that they said. It sounds to me like it's the same echo in the reversed bits, though for some reason not every phrase has one like it does in the forward section.

that same line appears twice, the first time it starts with a 4 (as in 456789:CDE...etc). So, yet again a reference to the number 4. I'm no expert when it comes to images; is such a non-random line of characters unusual? I've cracked open a few other jpgs in Notepad but I'm not seeing anything like that.

Ok, so, going over what we have code-wise (in the hope that this might inspire someone Smile ):-

acesdbmamrmkgt -coded text from the trailhead email (it may be that this code is reversed, like the audio file that came with the message)

1229050454864 - the name of the image of 4 red lights received by Why So Cereal?

(4)56789:CDEFGHIJSTUVWXYZcdefghijstuvwxyz - string of text, two instances of which are found when opening the above image in Notepad. The first instance begins at 4, the second does not.

abklmnopqr - the missing characters from the unusual string mentioned above (it is possible that the numbers 1,2,3 & 4 could be considered missing from this string too).

there is also a possible connection to the number 4 as it seems to be continually popping up

I don't mind telling you I don't even know where to start with this one now. Confused

Been wrapped up in TIMM, but I also got this email. No clue what to do with those codes. Blah.
