Relogger has just departed! She should be there in 20-25 mins. Cafe opens at 10am so she'll get there relatively close to when it opens. I'm on standby phone support if something comes up. She has her camera!

Best of luck to both of you. Fingers crossed.

Can you get on the irc channel? There are plenty of people there ready to assit if needed/able.

Just downloaded IRC, having issues with the forum search function. Typed in #Milwaukee in irc and connected...only 1 other person in it. That the right one?

I think you have to set it to irc.chat-solutions.org first and then #milwaukee. There are a few folks in there.

or try one of the links on here http://mymilwaukee.wikibruce.com/Home

You need to type /server irc.chat-solutions.org

Then when it's connected, type /join #milwaukee . You'll find us there Smile

the chat isn't working for me, so make sure to post here too! I'm very interested in how the pickup goes!

Pickup delay

For those not on irc, the pickup attempt is currently delayed by a baby shower in the Cafe Gratitude greenhouse.

Called the place, they said the baby shower would be definitely done by 5:00 PM.

Short story: Failure!
Long story: I got to the cafe, and parked in Golden Gate Park which is very close by. Upon entering, I notice two signs: No cell phone usage allowed inside, and please wait to be seated. The cafe is two small rooms, a front room with windows and a counter and small tables, and a back room that is 'the garden'. I ask the waitress if I can sit in the greenhouse area, and she explains that it it reserved for a private party... so I sat in the front room.
I staked out the area for an hour, enjoying delicious coconut curry soup and mint green tea, trying to get a look at that back room. Now, I have been removed from restaurants for using my camera before so I was very covert and only got a few pics.
From the conversations and decorations, the party was a baby shower for an employee of the cafe, so I was not even slightly interested in interfering with the party.
After breakfast, I did take a trip to the restrooms, which fortunately are placed at the back of the cafe, and you have to walk through the garden to get to them! Again, I didn't want to upset anybody by taking pictures so I only got a few poor quality shots.
There are two signs in that corner of the room, the central, obvious one says "Who would the spirit deny?" and the second one closer to the door is obscured by plants and decorations.
I put the few photos I could on:
http://picasaweb.google.com/Mercality/CafeDrop#
Currently adding comments so bear with me.

Anyway, I asked when the party would be over, she said it would be on all day, but that it might be open tonight. I couldn't reserve it since they had it all day. I will wait about 8 hours from opening (so that the staff changes over) and drive back up there and try again tonight. Maybe someone else will have luck before then!

Not a failure. Good job. You did what you could. Don't get discouraged, treasure hunter. Pick up that shovel and dig again.

i thought there were only three tables in the greenhouse area that Chuck talked about? it looks like there are more in this pic? or is it just me Relogger?

unless all the tables in that area are visible in the pic?

That is one in the corner on the right, and those on the left are all part of the same one. back to the left against the opposite wall is another seating area that sits about 6 people-ish.
