The only connection I can think of with T and A is TOR and ACT, but I don't see how that helps.

Well, it's the only connection I can make with the game, anyway ... Surprised

Turn A and T into the word "at".

How many pages are in that book??? Streets in NYC?

84 at 2010?

2010 at 84?

Is this striking a chord with anyone?

Well, 84th St in Manhattan doesn't have a 2010 address. The only 84th St in NYC that has that address is in Brooklyn.

Is there any reason to eliminate Brooklyn? Also, is it easy for anyone on here to head out and take a look?

With the holiday shopping traffic, I'll never make it out there at a reasonable time. Meanwhile, the area, as far as I know, is all apartment buildings, so without more evidence, I'm thinking it's a dead lead.

Hello Iridium,

Thanks for writing! We always like to hear from young professionals.

The chart is correct. Charts of this form are commonplace. It does not
depict a one-dimensional function, as you suggest; it is a table.

Consider a multiplication table, for example--it gives a single output for
a given pair of inputs. Our chart functions the same way.

Let us know if you have any further questions! I can assure you that, grim
data tables aside, Milwaukee is a wonderful place for people your age.
(Check out our recent job listings--you might just be able to find a
position at Power North.)

.

anyone notice that he mentoned the grimness of the table...that HAS to be a clue. In the M:ARH it also says the table tells a tail more grim than words can depict.

this jumped out at me from Google -

Grim, MI (township, FIPS 05135340)
Location: (43.987313, -84.235456)
Population (2000): 129 (123 housing units)
Area: 70.712938 sq mi (land), 0.716249 sq mi (water)
U.S. Gazetteer, U.S. Census Bureau

it seems to be in the neighbourhood, but I have no idea how it would relate to the chart.

Makes me think again about Jardin Watt-Turing, the "actor" for the waiter at FeBrizzio's. Are the electric-sounding names pointing towards some kind of robots / electric beings?

Based on your statement you're probably already aware, but in the interest of not assuming things a Turing test (named for Alan Turing) is meant to test a machine to see if it's artificial intelligence can fool a person through conversation into thinking that the machine is human. So that could indeed point to robots.

I believe I mentioned this earlier (the connection to Watt-Turing, Alan Turing and AI). I also mentioned that the chess scene in the original video could be a clue as chess is a standard testing ground for AI. It seems to me at this point that we're dealing with both a biological entity AND a mechanical/computer AI.

Question Question: Has anyone ever asked them how creating Go.D.S.E.E.D would solve our energy crisis? How does creating a new lifeform get us a new source of energy?

I did wonder if the "map" table was infact a Turing Machine state table based on a 5-tuple after the graph theory stuff. But it seems unlikely.

A couple notes

A couple new things I noticed. At 3:46, the word "Mark" sounds dubbed in over the original audio. Coincidentally, 3:46 is 226 seconds into the video, and that's one of the numbers at the top of the page 26 chart. (I don't think this is significant, since I can't come up with any meaning for the words spoken at the other numbers from that part of the chart.)

At 10:48, "Blackstar no blackstar" is mentioned. In Japanese, "no" is like an apostrophe-s, so that means "Blackstar's Blackstar" or "Blackstar's black star."

Maybe something is indexing into certain parts of the video and is telling us to mark something related to the black star on Black Star's building. Of course, if we knew what the indexing was, we could get the rest of the message, if there is one.

Decatur

I'm stuck on Decatur, IL. It is mentioned on Page 0 of the book (the map).
Ok - So Decatur is (IG) "Big Brass City". It seems to be denoted with a dot signifying a "capital" or large city - usually see that on maps. No other city has that signifier. Also, the dotted line coming from Witchita goes through it before going to Milwaukee. Brass seems to come from there. It is even listed 3 times under important materials:
* brass
* reinforced brass
* M-brass (related to m-rotors?)

So - Dinosaurs lived with humans in this alternate reality. It has been pointed out that maybe they were crappy at history? But they have quotes from the Dinosaur Viceroy - which wouldn't make sense to make up.

http://mymilwaukee.wikibruce.com/Image:Haven-p8%2C9%2C11.jpg

This lists how we were able to gain footing against the dinosaurs and how our freedom came due to the Brass Age. I'm thinking that their "Brass Age" is a different one - due to different timelines....and the numerous references to Brass. Why would they be talking about the RL one when the IG one is so specific?

So - Dinosaurs had submarines (mentioned twice on 2 pages) and advanced technology like turbines.

I am trying to figure out this Decatur (Big Brass City) connection. A few people have brought it up. Decatur seems really important to this game. Decatur IRL has its own municipal band, a point of pride, and I need to point out that it is basically a brass band.
http://www.ci.decatur.il.us/bandmain.htm
Also, Decatur electronics is apparently a big-deal radar company.
http://www.decaturradar.com Also, Decatur Chamber of Commerce has "Metro Money," its own currency, to encourage spending within the city.
Is this at all significant? The brass reference can't be random. The brass isn't an element or very commonly used; it wouldn't be readily available if a modern-day city were buried and then excavated, the way "brickacite" and "plasticite" would be.

Re: Decatur

Am I alone in assuming that all the focus on brass is related to all the focus on Jazz? After all, The Birth Of The Cool was a Jazz album recorded by Miles Davis who was born in...Illinois.
Cool Dog is basically treated as a deity by Chuck Jagoda. Slow Jazz by the pier is referenced in the video. Jazz, which heavily features brass instruments is extremely popular in TIMM. I'm thinking the "Brass Age" refers to the Jazz Era.

This is more related to the video, but music other than jazz is featured in the scene "Check out the Milwaukee Seasonal Pops Orchestra and their celebrated medley, Hollywood Glitz. Why not join in the cultural renaissance yourself?" with the program of non-jazz music.

Semaphore

Here's something I did to try and interpret the Basic Dark Dollar Arrangements. They map nicely to flag semaphore

Which would give us:

Start: Attention
Good Morning: R (18)
School Day: D (4)
Almost Right: W (23)
Second Gear: U (21)
New Feeling: V (22)

Hmmm, that is pretty coincidental isn't it? I think maybe you have found something...

Just for giggles I've tried those numbers in different sequential combos after www.thisismymilwaukee.com/... and nothing. I like this idea so far though, I'll keep trying.
