I wish I could quote your signature. Crying or Very sad You don't read everything, or you would know that this was a request for Snuibi to join the forum. But I was wrong because he already had and that was pointed out by someone a few posts later. Rolling Eyes

Sorry, that was mean of me. It is just that there have been so many posts this week that weren't needed if people would just read, or use the search button.

You don't need to join. You already have Very Happy

Limestone

katsmom wrote:
I've been thinking about this since I read it, and because we are now on our way to Tokyo I'll post my thoughts. MOB page 50 there is a description of Grace's necklace. "12 intricately carved squares of jade with a green dragon medallion in the center."

Dragons are prevelant in Asian Mythology. They were the "animals" of emperors. So much so that the masses would be killed for simply owning a depiction of a dragon. Jade is ment to bring good luck, fortune, prosparity, health. It is given to babies when they are born, and to people when they go in to hospital. There are 12 carvings of jade. 12 can be divided into 1 and 2 (Don't ask) so these roughly translate to unity and pairs--so a unity of a pair. (Dan and Amy?)
They haven't sold it for money yet and McIntyre offersto arrange to sell it on page 215 MOB.
I have a feeling that someone in Japan (Asia) will see the necklace and help/try to kill them. Or that the necklace itself is a clue. Afterall, we should remember that dragons sleep on a bed of gold and jewels. They also eat limestone to be able to breath fire. Now there is a search for someone. What is the key ingredient in limestone? Is it on the periodic table?

From Wikipedia--
Quote:
Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed largely of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate: CaCO3).

So no it is not an element on the table but it is made up of three elements in the ratio of 1:1:3 Calcium:Carbon:Oxygen.

I didn't find much else there that seemed to connect except I remember someone talking about solutions a while back.
Quote:
Limestone and marble are very reactive to acid solutions,

Don't know if that helps at all.

book 2 audio

I went to B&N to buy another card pack, but they were out. NM, that doesn't matter. I saw the audio for book 2, and again, they have an extra transcript. This one is of Grace Cahill's arrest. I'm not telling anyone they have to buy it, but if you did buy it for your own reasons, could you post it?

Limestone contuinued.
I'm a dork

From a study out of Moscow University:
Quote:
Sorption of uranium from seawater with calcium carbonate was studied experimentally. It was
shown that sorption of uranium is independent of the presence of phosphates and slightly decreases with
decreasing pH. The role of carbonate sediments in removal of uranium from seawater was estimated.

Translation Uranium can be absorbed from seawater using Calcium Carbonate (aka Limestone) to some degree. Unfortunately I can't read the whole article. It is probably nothing but I am bored and it connects Limestone with one of the clues. It's not really something kids would know though.

There is also this from a patent abstract that I only barely grasp. Anyone with more chem knowledge is welcome to correct me.

Quote:
A method is described for reducing the volume of radioactive waste produced during the solution mining of uranium and for recovering uranium from it. The recovery leach, which contains uranium in solution and is supersaturated with calcium carbonate, is treated with bicarbonate and made basic which precipitates calcium carbonate and some of the uranium. The precipitated calcium carbonate is dissolved with acid and the uranium in the solution is removed by extraction or precipitation. The remaining solution is contacted with sulfate ions and barium or strontium ions to precipitate BaSO4.RaSO4 or SrSO4.RaSO4, the principal radioactive constituent in the solid waste product.

Translation (as best as I am able): When Uranium (a clue) is mined it creates waste/byproduct which still contains some uranium. when this is combined with lots of Calcium Carbonate (limestone) and combined with something else to make it basic a solid can be seperated from the liquid from which Uranium can be removed by a certain process.

Again I am reaching probably I don't know if this gets us anywhere except if the secret is an unlimited energy source and uranium is a part of that.

No, I'm not an Ekat but most of my family would be and you can't help but pick up some things. Smile

I think we can be parts of different branches. When I joined hte first time i was a Lucian no problem. The next one, I was an Ekat. Janus was the hardest for me to become a member of. So I think we are probably all bits of different branches. Bits of our personalities must overlap in reality and in the game as well. Amy said she thought she might be part Janus because of taking piano lessons, but someone pointed out she's more of an Ekat.

In the stupor of my insomnia I am pondering why they are dropping such heavy-handed hints about Dan and Amy's possible family branch.

In OFN Amy calls Dan a regular Madame Currie and later calls herself the Einstein of worst case scenarios. With those two Ekats being directly linked to their personalities like that it sure does make them seem like they're from that branch.

Just for full disclosure only Madame Currie has been confirmed as an Ekat, though it seems pretty likely that Einstein was one as well...unless he wasn't a Cahill. Wink

Einstein would be a candidate for an EKAT, but Newton was a Lucian (MOB p. ?14 in lettered pages.) Who knows. But, book one was Paris, Lucian territory. Book 2 vienna-Janus, Book 3-Tokyo (at least to start)-Tomas, so we might not hear about Einstein until book 4.

Does anyone else think it odd that the boat they hid the clue on was the Royal Saladin

per my notes on the wiki:
Einstein is an Ekat, as documented on the Secrets of the Ekaterina Cahill-web page

the wiki has most of the links for the cards
(eg. card 1 takes you to http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/1-surveillance-camera)
And I know that card 3 takes you to the Book 1 clue, and card 20 takes you to the Book 2 clue.
However, the ultra-rare card, #60 Xray, takes you to the Ultra-Rare card clue, and not the card #60 page, which we know exists at
http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/60-xray
Is there any way to get to that page, other than by checking to see if it exists? I don't see any in-game links.

I've never seen one either. I wonder where it links from? If you hit the go button on card 60 it just takes you to your clue. At the same time, cards 3 and 29 do the same, but do they have a link/article?

Well i did a bit of hunting for the links for cards 3 and 20 by using brute force but it does not seem to exist.

Maybe you guys have better luck than me in trying to find those elusive links for cards 3 and 20. (If they even exist)

P.S: Katsmom, i think its card 20 youre talking about and not card 29. Card 29 is the Bermuda Triangle. Smile
