With respect to the green glowing, and blue glowing
A possible card relation

I don't think that anyone's mentioned this beforem so here it is:

If you look at the victor wood card (sorry i don't have the number, left my cards at home, i'm doing this from memory), you will see that the substance he is holding, and several jars on a shelf above him, are glowing blue. I thought this might tie into what I learned on http://depletedcranium.com/?p=562

On the topic of einstein, i have to do a documentary on him for one of my classes, so i will also try and find anything i can that is possibly 39C related to him.

One last thing. Katsmom, (and i'm not trying to be rude Embarassed )when you say hte what do you mean Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed i'm sorry, but it is confusing me Question Embarassed

I can answere the SASE codes question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can either send in a SASE for the card pack (16 codes pulled randomly from a pool of 55) OR send in a SASE for the MOB codes or the ONF codes. you can only put one SASE envelope per outside envelope (1:1). If you own a clue finder's guide, then go to the back, to the really fine print (after the pictures and fun stuff), and read there, they will tell you all the information you need to send in your SASE including the adress. Note: you can only request one MOB set of codes, and one set of OFN codes per mailing adress.Card pack code requests are unlimited, and therefore, you could blow 100 bucks in stamps and envelopes and get a ton of cards (no physical copies though, only codes)

(this sholud have shown you how lifeless i am; i read the fine print at the back of that guide...

FOR FUN!!!!!! Flaming Nutter Screwy Dunce Confused

Re: Free Digitized Cards with SASE
39 Clues digital cards by mail

Has anybody gotten these? My sons are really into this, and I contacted Scholastic to see if I can get the 6 free cards for each of them for each book. (I only have 1 copy of book 1) I was told that both kids can use the same digitized cards. So I take that to mean the codes are not unique. So, I'm thinking, if the cards are not unique, can I find the codes online without spending the postage and wait for each set of 6 cards? Anybody have the mail away codes so we can try this theory and see if it works?
You can do a search on the forum and see that there have been folks here that mailed in a SASE to get the codes. Here's the folks I found that got codes through the mail, but it's unclear if these were cards 1-6 (for the book): danteIL, TheRealPip, tyty2001 and FLgata. You might try sending them a PM and ask. You can also look at the list of people what have shared their codes at http://various.wikibruce.com/39Clues#Surveillance_camera_codes Codes that end with XX are codes requested by snail mail. Those folks include kat_xoxo, HighTideOnRhum, Pilgrim2008, and sapagoo. Your best bet there is sapagoo (the rest are either not registered or haven't posted in awhile).

I have requested codes for book 1 and for book 2. They took about 2 weeks to receive (maybe more with the holidays). I also have requested 7 sets of the digital codes in Card Pack 1. I finally got card 60, but I'm still missing 6 virtual cards, so I'll probably ask for another 4 packs soon.

so that's 9 SASE envelopes, each inside a stamped envelope. So I have spent about $7.50 on stamps and borrowed audio books from the library.
I don't know what the person at scholastic meant by the codes not being unique. When I enter my code from book 1 to a new account (23RGD7NDXX) all I get is the surveillance card, not all 6 book one cards (1-6). And it won't let me enter my book 2 code at all. So unless they've got something on the back end where they let the code be entered twice, I'd suggest sending in enough requests for everyone.

Can you give us the exact quote where they said the codes were not unique?

Note: the virtual codes that you get don't tell you what card they are for.. so I ended up entering 2 or 3 of some cards. I remembered that there was a way to tell what the card was with the last 2 characters, so I re-created the chart, and now only enter the card codes that I need.

placeholder for link to the fine print:
Quote:
About halfway down the http://www.the39clues.com/info/prizes/usa page, there is a section called
THE 39 CLUES EPISODES #1, #2, AND #3 CONTEST
Subsection 4 describes how you can request both the card packs and the book codes. (there is also a subsection 4 referring to the Sweepstakes, but it only mentions the book codes address)
Don't forget to include your username & e-mail address. If you aren't in the US, there are similar links for other countries http://www.the39clues.com/info/prizes

Good catch! But something puzzles me. You could recall from memory that there was glowing blue stuff in the card, but you couldn't think to bring up the 39 clues site to get the number -- it's #23 btw.

She doesn't have autocorrect or spell checker. That is simply a typo and should be read as "the".

That's not what was asked -- she asked if the codes could be shared -- not how to get the codes.

 The blue glow and SASE

Sorry for not saying the card number of victor wood, but i was on my school's server, and most 39 clues stuff is blocked. Not this site though! Very Happy I guess i could have looked it up on Wikipedia... Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed sorry for that. I remembered the glowing blue because i had been puzzling over it for a few days, but i thought that someone might have already brought it up, even though when i searched the forum, i didn't find anything.

I'm really sorry for asking what "hte" meant. I thought that was what it meant, but i wasn't sure if it was some 39 clues lingo that i hadn't picked up on Embarassed Embarassed Shocked

also, I'm sorry for writing the entire SASE thing. i thought that they were asking how to send the SASE. My bad Embarassed

Lots of apologies! Smile

[/quote] My left hand is faster than my right and because of the way our brains work I don't notice it. No spell check either.

Here's a card code of mine: Paul Addison 43tkdh24fh
Try it, but it won't work. They can not be shared. (I've tried with my other accounts.)

Sadly, I can't get virtual cards. No US stamps here. I contacted Scholastic and they won't email them to me here in HK so I'm out of luck.

Virtual codes
an idea

Katsmom, i know you've probably thought of this, but maybe you could have someone you know in the US request the codes, then e-mail them to you. just a thought you've probably had.

It could be a curse because the card says to use it to spy on "other Cahills" which could mean that the more codes we put in, the more people that could be spying on us.

On the other hand, it could be a gift. We may be able to use these codes to spy on any other Cahill of our choice and sort of hack into their account.

I don't think that adding these codes will be detrimental to us in any way for two reasons:
1: I don't think that scholastic wants to have to remember where the original codes came from (whose user got the card first) Rolling Eyes
2: Why would you want to spy on these people anyways????? what good would it do you??? it seems to me that all you could do would be to watch them do missions, or now that i think about it, the only thing you could really do would be to steal cards from them Very Happy . i still don't think that's likely.

The "spying" could just be access to the family branch archives of those you've passed your bug to. And it wouldn't be hard to track where the original card code came from as this is all being handled by computers. Plus, if they didn't want to waste storage space with where the card came from, they can just look up who has card #2 in their "My Cards" collection under that same code since only the original code owner would get cards 2-6 from it.

These curse/gift/nuisance or what ever it is camera codes could be dangerous to us. According to what i understand, the Cahills have been backstabbing each other for hundreds of years now.

This could mean that these camera codes may allow us to back stab others and may allow us not only to see their branch's top secret information, but maybe STEAL their cards too.

Since some cards are clues, maybe we could steal them too.

For example, take the 39 clues so far.

In the story, the clues themselves can be stolen if their finders are not careful. Amy and Dan could have lost their first clue in MoB at the church to the Kabras but since Amy and Dan are the heroes of the story, they managed to hang on to it.

Hopefully im wrong and the camera codes are just a way to make the series more popular, but seeing that this is the Cahill family, my theory may be unfortunately (or fortunately) right.

Who cares if someone can hack into your account. They can do only good things like adding cards and getting a higher score.

I think hacking can mean a lot to those 6-14 kids. I mean if everybody keeps hacking to get a higher score, those kids who are going for the prize money will lose out, will they?

And by the way, how do you hack to add cards?

No. I mean hacking into someone's account would be actually good for the person who was hacked. You can't hack cards, I mean they could enter cards into their account. They could play to get you on the high scores list.

it just seems a little cumbersome and unnecessary. plus, as i said, it takes up lots of space on a page.

I agree with the idea. But the clues span the books and the cards so perhaps something like.....

i)card trading and collecting
ii) Theories of clues how they are connected
iii)Online games and missions
iv) General questions not falling in the above
