Hey guys. New to this site. Smile

Found this thread through the Despoiler Wiki. I'm kinda sad to be jumping in this late in the game, but it's not over yet, so why not, right?

I figured I might as well Google DRUMMERINNOCENT, just for giggles at the very least. More than half of the top results lead to a short story called "The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky" by Stephen Crane and the only other ones that seemed plausible were links to forums directly discussing this clue.

I didn't take the time to read the whole thing (since it's late) but I did notice that one of the main characters is named Jack (and of course, the Bride was a character Amanda did as a street performer, as we all know). Here's the bit with DRUMMERINNOCENT in it:

Quote:
The drummer, innocent and jocular, answered: "All right, old man. S'pose he has. Come in and have a drink, anyhow."

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense out of context. If no one takes a crack at reading the whole thing by tomorrow (which doesn't seem likely, since the thread hasn't been active for 2 weeks), I'll do it and post anything pertinent.

*Link to story*

Hope this wasn't a big waste of time!

recent updates

Monkeyman1138 wrote:
Any recent activity on this

1) Beth has a new blog entry:

nemo perit. it means "no one dies."

we used to say it when things got frustrating and fucked up. she thought it was her idea, but she really got it from me.

no one dies if i fuck up. no one dies if i am not perfect.

no one dies... except when they do.

i miss her.

2) There are a couple of new entries on the Lost & Found blog.

3) According to something posted on the Shadowbox site, Beth told someone via email that Melody's return from England had been delayed but that they were finally going to meet up in January. No further indications yet, though.

4) I never heard back from The Stranger regarding my willingness to hide a secret in Los Angeles.

Edit: It's probably nothing -- or, more accurately, it's probably just spam -- but last week two new pages of lengthy gobbledygook were added to the WKAP Wiki:

  • Gloamings, added by "Cowgirl" at 14:21 on January 8, 2009
  • Forester, added by "Chad" at 16:09 on January 8, 2009

Weird.

They really are only pixels, theres one under a plume on the top left side of the 'monolith' symbol if anyone needs to know what to look for.

Unfortunately my secret is password-protected, and TS seems to have neglected to send along the password. Oops. Well, I guess that's the problem of those who find the secret...

And Jack Fox has posted on the spam-laden WKAP board!

And Beth has a new blog entry! (Okay, it's actually over a month old. I posted it on the Wiki, but evidently forgot to mention it over here. Embarassed )

I finally got a mail back today, linking me to handsfingerseyes which now contains a little widget showing locations and instructions for hidden secret so far. Sadly, both UK secrets are too far away for me to do any hunting, oh well.

I got another email with some more links...

Its too late for me to check them all.
Quote:
they found her body
well
for a little while
i suppose.

they're lighting the candles
in her name.

many of you
have secrets to spread
and others
will be getting them
shortly.

if you have them
when you get them
hide your secrets
hide them well
hide them by the vigil
if you can.

time is running out now
and the truth
needs to find its way
into the right hands.

yours.

ever
watching,

Re: [ARG] "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?"
new stuff

Three new stories on Alexa Webb's site: the police said they found Amanda Palmer's body, but she'd been dead only a few days... and the body promptly disappeared from the scene.

New blog entry from Jack: There will be a worldwide candlelight vigil for Amanda this Friday, April 10, 2009, at 6:45 p.m. wherever you are.

Five of The Stranger's secrets have been hidden so far, three in the US and two in the UK. He's asked that as many as possible be hidden by the vigil.

Oh, and he's got a Twitter account now.

Finally, Beth had another new blog entry a while back, which I once again forgot to mention here when adding it to the Wiki.

Edit: And now she has another new entry, about the dead body.

Here's a new clue from the Stranger, dispatched using Twitter.

http://gingerdead.com/2009/04/15/the-game-of-clue

Notice that on the couch, the words "Beth would call the police, but she's not sure what she'd say" and the Stranger's gmail address flash back and forth.

Re: [ARG] "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?"
more new stuff

There's a new post at Lost & Found, which includes a link to a lot of photos from folks who hid things for the Stranger.

Jack's got a new blog entry.

WKAP has posted the podcast of the Amanda Palmer tribute.

And the Stranger has posted several more hidden secrets.
