I'd personally say go for it Amandel.
Seems like a huge nudge to me.

I think you have found our culprit Amandel.
I think you should make Andrea an outrageous offer though before giving it to the detective. I think Andrea will incriminate herself even more.

i just had a conversation with antonio just now
i said
Quote:
umm i kinda lost contact to you..
about that person who wants to buy that code thing...
i dont want to turn myself in, but it is not me.
umm you might wanna pay close attention in the auction you guys are holding.
he replied
Quote:
Good to hear from you again. The auction is going to be held during our
Boxing Day Gala. All of the TINAGPD will be there as well as the press
and several members of the government as well as members of the
Transition Team for the incoming Adminstration. I can't imagine anything
happening at the auction, but it will be well protected.
then i said
Quote:
im telling you just be on the look out.
btw is anyone in the auction adding personal stuff in the sales?
he replied
Quote:
I will keep my eyes open. As far as I know, Andrea is asking for
something from everyone, I donated my cadet t-shirt that I got in the
Academy.
what do you guys think

mibbit, like everything, is tricky with the Holidays atm. We could have a group chat today and maybe set a deadline....
at 12:00 NOON EST on 26 Dec. to send our findings to the Detective as a group? Or is that cutting it too thin?
@victorgil--good work and Antoniio seems clean now imo. Sending Andrea a more explicit email right now and will post it and whatever reply she gives to us. All the Detective requires is that one of them "say something incriminating".
Still greedy for all feedback and advice on how and when to proceed, plse.

Shazbat for a necessary double post cuz she's stonewalling me.
Andrea wrote:
I am glad to hear of your interest in my item. As far as proof of
ownership and usefullness I believe I have already provided that to those
paying close attention. Payment Arrangements and delivery details will be
provided to the highest bidder only. Currently you are not the only party
expressing interest in my item.
Trust is important, all I can say is that if you don't trust me don't bid.
I have no doubts the item will command top dollar. Of course I do think
the item will only be useful once and the best opportunity to use it will
be during the Gala when eyes are elsewhere, so place your bid soon and
good luck.
Andrea
Being a kitchen scivy all day today(tomorrow also) I've only had seconds to skim her TINAGPD blog entries which might contain a "key" in. Now needy AND greedy for help and feedback.

Then just turn what you've got over to the detective Amandel. Her previous email was quite incriminating and in this one she says
Quote:
the item will only be useful once and the best opportunity to use it will
be during the Gala when eyes are elsewhere
The detective knows what he's looking for and Andrea sounds like she is up to something. He can investigate further, it's his job.

Tried again--her reply:
Andrea wrote:
If another bidder contacted you that would indeed be surprising. You are
correct in thinking that I want this item to go to someone with "Family"
Support. However, less vagueness is part of what the winning bidder
receives.
Also do not think that this other bidder and you are the only ones
competing for this item. There is a nice "Family Man" in Portland that is
very interested in getting this item. It is somewhat personal to him as he
thinks the item will help him regain standing and clear some problems that
he has had recently.
I think you know what the item is. How much is it worth to you?
Andrea
Anyone lurking here could also be the "Possible Lead". It will prolly go to highest bidder. May I send a bid to her without divulging the amount here? Waiting for opinions and guidelines here while making a couple of gallons of turkey gravy.
Also, update on TINAGPD Weblog

Not sure how to advise on this one amandel, but I'd probably ask her to let me know if I've been outbid so I can consider a higher one.

TY Tres--good advice and tried it. However, her latest reply:
Andrea wrote:
I am sure you have heard of the concept of a sealed bid. I am
accepting bids until noon EST on the 26th. I will notify the winner and
provide the item before the Gala. So if you are interested just think hard
and give me your best offer. You do seem like a nice "Family" person so if
the bids are close I may just go in your favor anyway, However I am in
this to make money so if you are greatly outbid there will be nothing I
can do. So 1 bid per person make it your best.
Andrea
Planning to follow waitress' advice also and inform the Detective of this. Or would someone else like to(pretty please)?
Such a biatche she is, threatenig the safety of the Lopez family and the sating of the hoard here expecting a Cmas dinner.

I sent this to the detective to see how he responds
Quote:
I think we have found the guilty police officer that is trying to sell the code. Andrea is holding the charity auction and Amandel has been communication with her trying to fish for information.
Andrea first responded with -
"However reading between the lines I think you may be more interested in what I am selling. It is actually only a single item and it will go to the best offer I receive. If you know what the item is and want to purchase
it, just make me an offer. This E mail is secure ( for now ) If you are
not interested in my personal item or are unsure what I am talking about
don't worry. The personal item isn't something everyone would be
interested in anyway."
This is what Amandel had emailed to Andrea that prompted that response -
" I'm sure to find something for my husband and boys but, more important, a real G-Gal treasure for my daughter. Nancy Drew and her decoder ring are absolutely her Alpha and Omega! For something of the highest catagory--well, that's what trust funds are for I think. I'm wagering this project has personal meaning for you and hope to hear from you soon."
Amandel has been trying to figure out how high to bid but Andrea isn't being very forthcoming, she did say this about the item she has for sale however -
"Of course I do think the item will only be useful once and the best opportunity to use it will be during the Gala when eyes are elsewhere."
To me that sounds awfully incriminating, but you are the detective so I am passing it on to you.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thank you

WOW--that's so comcise and well formulated. Reckon if we get cagey advice from The Detective we'll outwit her and whoever else is bidding. Supah

Here is the Detective's reply
Quote:
It sickens me to think that Andrea is the dirty one. And while the evidence you have presented is convincing to me, I doubt it will convince a judge to issue a warrant. Advise Amandel to place a convincing bid. If Andrea accepts it, it sounds like she will provide what we need to bring her down. Namely the Payment Arrangements and Delivery plans. Get her to share that and we will have her. It sounds as though Amandel has gained her trust, now just play by Andrea's rules so not to spook her and we should have her. The only sticking point is how much to bid, It should be a big number to spark her greed, but low enough to seem believable. Plus we don't know what other bids she might be getting. You are a clever group, I am sure you will come up with a suitable amount. The Detective
So I guess just place a bid. I am not sure what would be big enough to outbid others but low enough to be believable. If someone is buying the code they would probably be using it for organized crime purposes? Are you bidding against organized crime? They have a lot of money....
1/4 million maybe? Jennifer wasn't impressed with that figure however so I don't know.
