[39C] Discrepancies/Mistakes List any discrepancies you've noticed online or in the books.
Please document with links and/or page #'s.
Try not to make assumptions.
I figure that most mistakes won't affect "gameplay."
Two mistakes that I know have been fixed:
Isaac Newton no longer belongs to 2 branches. (He's a Lucian )
George McClain is not longer from 2 cities. (He's from Experiment, GA )
Two mistakes that I'm still confused about:
1) When did James Cahill die? Was it in 1959, as shown on the family tree distributed by Scholastic, or after Fiske's disappearance in 1962, as implied in the Fiske disappearance article ?
2) Who is the Janus Leadership? Grace's notes lists Cora Wizard, Spencer Langendoen , and Halima Amadi. But the minigame says that Janus is run by Cora Wizard, Spencer Grey , and <classified>. (click on the "To: The Janus Leadership" line at the very top)
Note: Spencer Grey and David Langendoen are in the band Electric Funstuff.
If it is a historical inaccuracies that was probably modified using literary license, try to list it as such.

This is a minor thing, but an actual mistake:
In OFN Amy says that Mozart wrote Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. That's pretty solidly wrong. What he wrote is 12 Variations on Ah vous dirai-je, Maman - a French song from 1761.
It is considered the de-facto work on that piece though, so she was only somewhat wrong. (See? A minor thing like I said...though the piece is in major )

G'day. New player.
Some I've discovered whilst updating the wiki:
Is Cora Wizard the same person as Cora Broderick? Cora Wizard is mentioned in Secrets of the Janus , but a napkin at the bottom mentions Cora Broderick and a date. Cora Wizard happens to be married to Broderick Wizard (per a popup ).
There's a discrepancy in dates regarding the Mission 0 codes. These codes are also available in Grace Cahill's notebook, as discovered by Gordon Klose . The year when Grace wrote them is unknown - we only know she datestamped the entry as January 13th. She retrieved the four secret documents "two months before" she died (making it 2008-06), so the documents would presumably have contained the secret codes BEFORE she obtained them (her knowing all the codes in January 2008, for example, would have meant the codes existed six months before she returned with the documents). How did she know the codes on documents she didn't yet have (if she had them in the past, why'd she then pay $800,000 for them? )?

Where'd you get that from? In-game or OOG? I noticed the same problem with Spencer, and haven't yet been able to reconcile them either. Didn't someone post earlier that Scholastic said "whoops!" and were going to fix it? [EDIT: I may have gotten this confused with the error regarding Isaac Newton. Nevermind.]

I made the same mistake. That napkin would probably be from the wedding of Cora and her husband Broderick. So, I don't think that there is a Cora Broderick.

That sounds like a good explanation to me. I'll roll it into the timeline as a possibility.

OOG. I was just googling for Spencer Grey Landenodoen, and found some Electric Funstuff links.
Makes me think the PM's might have used the guys from Electric Funstuff as inspiration for the name, and used "Spencer Landenodoen" in one place, then goofed and used "Spencer Grey" in another.

MoB Mistake I was just rereading MoB when i saw this mistake on pages 13 and 14.
Quote:
Dan ripped through his program. Inside was a card with a gold-leafed border. It read: Dan and Amy Cahill are hearby invited to the reading of the last will and testament of Grace Cahill.
Why is Amy's name included in Dan's invitation?

I don't think that is a mistake. I think Amy and Dan got ONE invitation, the Holts got ONE invitation and so on. I think the invites were given out in teams.

That or it was a subtle suggestion done by Grace or Mr. McIntyre.

I kind of agreed with you, Wind Lane. Since Grace already sort of "trained" them for the contest, it will make sense if they work together. One really cant survive without the other.

MoB Mistake??? I was on pages 112 and 113 of MoB when i saw this paragraph.
Quote:
"Surely you dont want another war between our branches," Alistair said, trying to sound diplomatic. "One phone call and I can mobilize help from TOKYO to RIO DE JANEIRO ".
As far as I know, Alistair is an Ekat, not a Tomas so why did he say he can get help from Tokyo. Isn't Tokyo a Tomas stronghold and it is unlikely to have that many Ekats if any there?
On top of that, why does he want help in Rio De Janeiro? Is Rio De Janeiro a Lucian stronghold?
Lastly, if Alistair is having trouble in Paris, why does he want help in Rio De Janeiro in the first place?

I'm going to guess that even though each city is a stronghold of a different branch, they may have "people" in place to watch the other branches. That would work in most spy movies anyway.

Some major cities may not have any branch strongholds. Some Cahills may just be there to "shape human history". For example, Cahills may have been shaping Africa's history in small countries such as Eygpt, Congo, Zambia and other countries whose names we may not know...

Notice that the quote says that help can be mobilized from TOKYO to RIO DE JANEIRO -- not TOKYO and RIO DE JANEIRO.
