Andrea Ok, so I've been trying to fish out the seller as well. I hadn't posted anything about it in an attempt to keep it from the PMs if they monitor the board.
Anyway, I sent coded messages to them all and most of them responded very negatively. I think you all saw Jennifer's blog about the "possible lead." Anyway, only Andrea was open to my request for purchase of the code. I've sent a couple of emails and her responses have been similar to what Amandel has received. Here is her latest email:
Quote:
The item I am selling will go to the highest bidder. So it is not a
matter of me naming a price, but rather you tell me how much it is worth
to you. As far as gaining my trust, some sign that you know what is for
sale would go a long way.
If you have the winning bid I will contact you with payment instructions."
I'm starting to think it may not be her though...I still haven't heard anything from Scott...

While there's always the chance of some twist being in play, it seems likely to me that it's Andrea simply because she's not naming what it is she's selling. There would be no need to be cryptic if it was legit, right?

I think you may be correct. I emailed my bid to Andrea which was probably way too much money!
Anyway, I also told her that I expected to be receiving the code...
Here was her reply:
Quote:
I have your bid. The winner will be notified on 12/26 at noon EST
Ok, so I tell her what I'm bidding on and she tells me that my bid was accepted...that's pretty incriminating!
Anyone want to tell the detective?

Morning all. Just mailed The Detective asking for advice with this latest email from evil Andrea.
Andrea wrote:
"Gina,
I have decided to part with the item a little sooner than planned. Your
bid of 1.1 million is 75,000 mored than the gentleman in Portland. And
while I did receive one bid higher than yours I do not fully trust the
bidder. Therefore I declare you the winner.
Here is the access code in encrypted form: H:SJDUGH54651385"HJNP
gu" Once the funds have been deposited in the following Numbered Swiss
account I will send the key to decrypt the code.
Swiss Acount # 5236985647135651463J
Feel free to do what you like with the code, but I do think that usiing it
tonight during the Gala would be best.
Andrea"
Also, sorry Robby, obviously sent a bid long before seeing your post above. (see page top and Detective's email prev. page)
EDIT: Update : A new reply from The Detective

Good work All.
This should be enough for a warrant. This information does mean that I will be very busy for the near future. I will post an update as soon as things are resolved.
The Detective.
Reckon this means we need not crack Andrea's encription form--Thanking lucky stars while nuking turkey leftovers & waiting for The Detective's next blog entry and reading The TINAGPD's latest update .

The death of Andrea is a turn of events I didn't see coming. It's interesting timing, isn't it? What do you all make of this? My suspicious mind wonders is someone wanted to cover up what she did. Jennifer wasn't supposed to leave for a few months, and Antonio's departure is abrupt.

I think the game is over.
The new post on The Detectives blog translates to this -
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Thank you for all you have done. Thanks to the information provided a search warrant was issued for Andrea Norton's residence and computer files. Evidence was obtained that she has been passing information from Tinagpd investigations for quite some time. Most recently passing information to the corrupt police department in Portland. Her activity has left a black mark on all the work Tinagpd has accomplished since she joined. Once the search of her computers verified that she was most likely guilty a warrant was issued for her arrest. Uniformed FBI agents were sent to bring her in to custody. She apparently was unwilling to stand trial and take responsibility for her actions. When she was approached she opened fire on the arresting agents. They returned fire killing her. We may never know the full extent of her of her crimes. Now is the time for full disclosure. I have known for some time that a mole was inside of Tinagpd and I suspected Andrea from the start, but I never had proof or even enoug to warrant an investigation. That is why I contacted all of you. Everything I havce had you work has been in an effort to uncover Andrea's treachery.
I thank you all for helping to end this black spot in Tinagpd history. I may need you again some time in the future, but for now it is case closed.
Jean Paul aka The Detective
P.S.
In case you were wondering, Jason Fish was my college roommate. I borrowed his name for my gmail account. Thought it might help divert your attention
It was Enigma, EAS and 123

Well I didn't mean to make you sad Waitress. But yes the game is over. I thought I wrapped everything up nicely, and left it open for the next game coming summer 2009. If anyone is interested in a post game chat I can be on Mibbit Tonight just name the time. Thank you all for playing I hope you had as much fun as I did.

I just hadn't realized we were in end game mode already. It came as a surprise to me.
Can you tell us if you had multiple people to help you in the Deserving One chat? Or were you the multiple people?

I was everyone all the time. The only help I had was Natas built the TINAGPD website for me. Every interaction was me. It was tricky on the chat but it was fun and I think I was fairly convincing as several people at the same time.

Haha, yes you were convincing. I thought there had to be at least 4, if not more people working on that act of the game.

It probably would have been easier if I were 4 people.
