hm. to clarify, the X is over a tennis court (based on the lines on the ground and two brown 'courts'). The scenes in the promo video are actual basketball courts, again based on the ground lines, so this isn't where they filmed those scenes in the video.

But that is definitely where the X is sitting.

That's perfect, thebruce! I think we can consider the map solved. There's no way that's not it.

No thebruce, those are basketball courts. They don't have tennis courts near the great lawn.

Regardless yes, that's where the X rests.

Are you sure? Because the courts in the video have the curved point lines, and green courts. These are brown courts with straight tennis court lines.

ETA: The X is in the tennis court (where Terry and the basketball kid filmed the basketball parts?)

looks to me as if those actually ARE b-ball courts, bruce. if you zoom in real close in google earth, they are not tennis courts, i don't think. look at the striping on the courts. no matter, we have a location it would appear. now alls we need is a time and date. ARG

nice work everyone!

Happy New Year!

I digress. Razz
They do appear to be basketball courts, but the lines don't match typical basketball court lines (to my knowledge Wink), and actually seem more similar to tennis lines.

But, I still don't believe that's where they filmed the basketball scenes based on the colours of the courts...

perhaps they repainted the court =P

ha! they are the 85th st volleyball courts that we are seeing through the trees! listed as 85th st. basketball and volleyball courts. *slaps head*

makes sense now. still bet it is the b-ball location from the vid. (remember all the trees/ shade?) same as the Great Lawn was the scene for the Treasure Hunter scene, i betcha. wow. that might be a big area to check given the size of that X.

check out a volleyball court here:

http://www.basketball-goals.com/volleyball-court-dimensions.htm

(note the lines.)
